Thanks for commenting. I’ve built around 1000 sqft of decking this summer and my back is so happy I bought this.

Nice job Tim! I just bought this tool yesterday and was having some difficulting understanding how to put it together. A quick search and your demo came up. Perfect! As a side note i bought it for the same reasons you did. I have 2 32 x 32 composite decks i am in the process of building and the amount of time on my kneeswas well, i didnt want to do it. work smarter not harder!

Yeah it really is. It’s funny last night I was working on a deck looking for my tape measure and realized everything I had out was black and yellow. Doesn’t stick out much when everything is that color

You did a great job in showing the quick drive system.
I own the Mikita version but corded.
    Much prefer battery.
Ive had this thing for a good number of years and other than the cord I love it.
    Problem though,
I have yet acclimated to setting the screws exactly on center consistently but close.
    Do you have a solution?
    Thanks & Be Blessed Noroom4gloom

So if I’m laying hardwood decking boards this will drive them down without the need to countersink? Surely this will split the Timbers.

I have an old 110v dewalt DW275OD ,QD2000 type A system, I’m looking for the mandrel bit holder that you would pull out of the attackemnt that the screws loop into.
I have it for years. I just broke it out to screw floors down at my house; and I notice the longer bit holder that holds the bit is missing,
Can you steer me in the right direction, I think I need the 7 1/2 inch mandrel for my qd2000.
    PMANDREL75-RC 7.5” long:
I keep questioning myself on the correct length
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can you put deck screws in them? I cant find any in Vancouver BC. Any luck? Also, are the attachments universal? I found one that seems to be for Makita but want to know if I can use it on my Dewalt

The main problem with the Simpson Quik Drive is it only works with their absolutely stupidly over priced screws.
Here in the UK they around £100 for 1000 x 76mm wood screws.
Whereas Timco & other brands of generic collated screws are around £30 per 1000
Everyone I know who bought it never uses it as they refuse to pay the ridiculous for the screws. Maybe the fixings prices are sensible in the US & Canada but here in the UK they are a non starter.

Im curious if you or anyone has had a issue with the brass bushing in the end of the clutch housing turn to dust. I own 2 of these and 1 has done 3 dock jobs and the other i just bought from lowes yesterday and noticed the clutch was too hot to touch after 10 strips of screws. I took the extension off and it is full of metal shavings and brass dust. That made me look at the other gun and it too has metal in the extension and the brass bushing is completely gone in that one.

I have had my eye on this one for a bit but i intentionally stay away from drywall in my business but I’m not 100% sure if it’s compatible with the other driver that comes with the Simpson strong tie deck screw driver
