      Why do we never see you pull the bit lock chuck on the impact driver? It is like you do not know that it is there. The short bits will lock in if you use it. It is the collar that is around the bit where you insert it.You pull it away from the motor, the bit slides in a bit and you release the collar and it locks the bit in place.

    Thank you for uploading so much for uploading this video! I am hanging a bunch of wire mold and and glass mounts for my surround sound and its a pain in the ass trying to run screws in while holding the workpiece and level at the same time. Any slight jostles knock the screw off the bit and the magnetized bit holders (including my $25 Wiha 2" extension) havent been effectivein keeping the screw on. I bought the same or similar kit a couple of years ago in order to get the bit holder with the sleeve and did the same thing that you did (tossed it in my box). With all that said, your video prompted me to look for the accessory and is making things much easier now! I appreciate the knowledge sharing keep up the good work!

    Yeah they’re cool. I’m a bit of a magnet connoisseur I’m obsessed with them and use them for all kinds of stuff especially tool related. I have tried every magnetic sleeve I can find for my impact and other drills, these dewalts do break on me sometimes. In my opinion the Makita magnet saddle sleeve is the best. It slides over any 1/4 hex, not proprietary like the DEWALT and to me it feels at least 3 times as magnetic. Oh and they are available separately to buy alone (I don’t think you can buy the dewalt by itself but I might be wrong?) Good video, entertaining you crack me up bro

    The Dewalt is a pretty good magnetic bit sleeve. I have just about every one of these type of sleeves I could find ive also got the metal dewalt version. Irwin, Bosch, and master force all make a similar plastic one like this dewalt that works pretty good but the best one I've found is the Makita B-44971 Impact GOLD Mag Boost. Several others have commented about it on this and other vids and it has the best magnet of all the ones I've tried, and it will fit on any brand bit including the standard 2 inch hex bits. Some of the others will also fit on just about any bit but some like the dewalt only work well on their certian style and branded bits. The other really nice things about the makita mag boost are that you can buy it individually at Home Depot for like $4 instead of having to buy a kit to get it. Also if you use the mag boost on a 6" or longer bit you can slide it quite a ways back away from the tip and it will still magnetize the bit allowing you to insert the bit into deep holes that woulnt allow the magnetic tip to fit into. I know I'm rambling about this little Makita Mag Boost but it is Awesome!! I build alot of backyard playsets for people and it has been invaluable and prevents me from dropping lags or screws in peoples yards. Many of the lags I use require a T40 bit and I kid you not the Mag Boost will hold a 3" x 5/16 lag on my bit for reaching out and installing when needed. One of the best accessories I've ever purchased, I have like 10 of them in all sorts of kits.

    Nice video. So, you know Irwin tools was the first to come out with those Mag Tip for the extended bits. I could not see how desalt built their version but it looks to be much better built. If the have any common build likeness to Irwin’s then don’t drive down to hard as this will eventually capture mags to brake from the mag housing. The Dewalt version looks to have solved this issue by allowing the mag holder to actually have a bit of back travel to allow counter sinking of screws. I loved these extended bits because of the fact they are double-side and could allow me to keep working on my bathroom remodel. The only draw back with these is the mag bits can get in the road in tight quarters & may get or the screw knocked off getting in or out. Other than that well worth working with and these Dewalt ones look way better than the Irwin model and I will be looking to find a couple of them for my tool box!! Yes get a few. You will lose them being clumsy or once people realizing how good these things work 5 finger discounting them from your tool box.

    Is there a kit with the magnetic holder, impact bits AND drill bits like hss and masonry bits? Dewalt sell combi drill and impact driver kits but their bit sets seem to be one or the other, not a mix

    I just bought the same Dewalt bit set online and baffled what the sliding sleeve was for. My friends here in Philippines also don't know what the sleeve is for and heaven sent you and recommended you in my CZcams watch search bar. Here, take my subscription sir thanks a lot

    Dude... its like the most important part of the kit. It's the magnet thing. It's advertised all over the box.
    Also, why are you screaming?

    I always used that specifically for DRYWALL.
    It allows you to quickly snap on a std drywall screw to hold it magnetic,
    then you rip it in fast into the drywall with a perfect sink into the wallboard,
    and the drill just auto-magically pops right off once the screw is counter-sunk just enough.
    Now it's ready for mudding.

  • @sanders341
    @sanders341 Před 5 lety +22

    Yes it's a magnetic screw holder that stops driving the screw as soon as its counter sunk. Its awesome.
