@@grandpavlogs3058 Oh my bad then yeah afterprisonshow group mentioned this yeah maybe an extra prize wouldn't be so bad but just not make the visit all about that because it may seem like it's making games out of the person locked up. Maybe Joe could say "let's play a game. If you can guess this or answer this question you'll get an extra _____" maybe a graphic effect to make it look fancy but really anything beyond that is too much..But the main reason I feel like it's not going to work is if the prisons begin to catch on too much of it then Joe might actually get in trouble depending on the laws in that state for giveaways etc. People have to pay taxes on their winnings and well..they're in prison so they cannot exactly do that.

If they want any extras they should have to pay for it. Simple as that. Why anyone feels sorry for these ppl is beyond me. Living out in the free world, when you go to kroger to pick up groceries, do they give you ketchup for free? No! Do restaurants? They give it to you for free but jail is not a restaurant, it is a jail. Jail is meant to be horrible. I did 5yrs in Michigan prison, from 02 to 07. If my memory serves correctly, prices were pretty cheap, some even cheaper than on the street. From my understanding, they got stuff in bulk at good price and they inmate benefit fund set a percentage above cost of the zoom zooms and wham whams. This mark-up was to cover the cost of cable TV services, weights and other athletic equipment, microwaves, irons and to pay for good holiday meals. They'd also do a few fundraisers per year to increase funds in the Inmate Benefit Fund.
These included a couple pints of ice cream and a box of banquet chicken, pizzas, subs, ect. I'm sure it helped we had a culinary arts education program at the 1 prison. Also, idk if other states do this, but you could only spend like $42.50 a week, so I imagine that also contributed to keeping the prices decent. Who knows though, all that stuff could be changed by now? They took out tobacco a few years after I was released. We could order our own tennis shoes, our own underwear and our own socks, and you could order a winter coat from a limited selection. You could also order nice clothes from JC Penny for use only on your visits.

The nutritional value of these items is so low that even if you eat a bunch of it your body will still be craving nutrients. If all you eat is junk food your body will demand a whole lot of it, and you'll spend more money. If they were selling you good food you could eat less and still be satisfied.

What's jacked up is that it cost prob $1,000 a day to incarcerate her, and she only has to pay $3 a day. They should be charging prisoner the FULL PRICE OF PRISON, vs subsiding it. They have to provide restitution to victims, they need to pay restitution to the State for the cost of locking them up!!!!

The prices are high but not overly high. When i was in WI they wanted insane prices for the comisary. Candy bars abd such were averaging 2 to 3 bucks. Ketchup packets were 25 cents, the hit sauce packet was a buck. Penut butter was 2 bucks. And raman noodle bricks were 2 bucks each. The list goes on...💀

Commissary is the exact system used in coal mine town company stores. Company script that could only be used at the official company owned store. High prices, low worker pay to drain the accounts. Charges for Rental fees, debts, and other charges were taken off the top before you even got your pay. Most companies would even rent all the furniture and everything else in the house and if you lost your job or got sick, then they'd throw you out with nothing.

I had to talk my way into jail, which, in hindsight...... ughhhh jayzuss, but they took me in. There, its Friday night thru Monday morning. I stayed in the Annex, which is just a giant room full of knuckleheads and bunk beds. The Extra weekend, durt-da-durr, I was in my own cell and didn't eat til Sunday because, hello McFly!!, they only make enough trays for people on the damn list!! I dunno your habits or, well, You, but I'll say that a very healthy dose of Nyquil just before entry can make it fly by. That's what I did, please be careful. It's nothing really. • @craigdaubbeats-rapinstrume9185

Honestly that's cheap for creamer in lockup. We were paying 15 cents where I was at. But ours were little cups. Did you have to input the jail before getting prices? I'm convinced the jails set their own prices that they make on top of what is actually paid to the companies. Because our Keefe prices were different from other places and the jail was making and printing our catalog sheets.
