It's so ironic that you can't get on top of the bedrock roof in the nether on Bedrock edition. It doesn't make sense imo.
I just realized what you meant. Mojang has some explaining to do.
You can, but you can’t place blocks up there. You need to use chest-boats to store chorus fruit to teleport back down. It works since chest-boats are entities.
It actually makes sense. The bedrock roof is part of bedrock edition. It doesn't let you go above it because you might end up in Java edition.

This is a great video, because you included not only 3 different methods, but 2 different types of methods.
For me, maybe it was because my internet isn't the best, but I couldn't get the first two to work on a server no matter how many times I tried, but the third method worked first try.

this is a good video. it provided something for everyone in multiple options. i can definitely say everyone here got what they wanted from this video. I got a shulker to the overworld by this trick. id recommend this video to every one who needs to break bedrock
PSA:
If you are on a server and tried and tried and it didn't work, it might very well be that you play on paper, where by default bedrock breaking is disabled. Look into the config files, you can change it there.
(I hope this helps someone, because I spent so much time and ressources on this without realizing :D)
Nice tutorial! Before I was watching Mysticat's, and it just wasn't working. I was down to my last 5 tnt, and I thought I should try a different method. I saw this video, figured the second method was best for me cause I'm too lazy to get torches, and I did it first try. Thanks!

I definitely like the flat method better. Other methods put you right in the line of the TNT. They say it won’t blow you up……. And then you blow up anyway. The flat method puts the obsidian between you and the TNT so you feel much safer.
All I can say is it’s a good thing I don’t play hardcore or I would have been very sad with other methods.
It's implied that you would have armor before getting to the point where you need to break bedrock. It's kind of a midgame thing to do.
@@poppinlochnesshopster3249 I had full diamond armor on and still died somehow.
Once it blew me up with two pieces of prot 4 diamond.
I'd love if there was a method that used less horizontal space, so that if you're on the nether roof then you could clear only a 3x3 area and get the bedrock underneath without having to clear more of the surrounding area
You can make a 1x2 hole
If you're still having trouble with the piston i suggest trying an auto clicker. Couldn't get it to wrk at all then i remember i had an autoclicker so i opened mine up and used it to do that, got it first try afterwards
just rebind right click to R and its gaurunteed 20 clicks per second which has worked nearly flawlessly for me every time, if youre still struggling, it might be because of where youre aiming.

Flat method eventually worked, you are waiting for the moment when the piston gets destroyed but the block is still powered but not yet removed from the server side, i believe, something in this process allows the bedrock to be removed.

Professional Tip: You can literally HOLD right click and the game will process your intent on every game tick. No need to break your fingers or rebind anything :)

After about 20 tnt, I got it with method 2 lol. For some reason, with the last method the tnt wouldn't reach the torch to destroy it and update the piston.

I've always used the method at 4:56 but came here to see if there was an easier way because I always have trouble getting it right, and used the flat method at 5:46 and found it much more consistently doable for me. Personally, I struggle with a panic that sets in when I know I have to do something fast, so I also like to rebind my right mouse button to v so that I can pivot my thumb up from the space bar and hold it instead of trying to spam my mouse. Thanks for the clear instructions EMC!

Doesn't seem to work on servers
A trick to do the first method is by holdng right click and pressing F3+T, it will basically now automatically place blocks for you. I did that, used a bucket so I wouldn’t plsce blocks, then pulled the lever, went under the trapdoor, snd then simply go to that obsidian corner and have a piston in your hand. It worked the first time I did it.

that third method saved my LIFE lmao. i only had 3 tnt left and still hadn't managed to break through but since it's so much easier AND uses less tnt, i was able to do it on my second try!
is it possible to break the single piece of bedrock directly beneath the end gateway? I'm trying to make a water elevator that just chutes me directly into the end gateway. Thanks!
do you spam R in the last method with one tnt? I hold R and it doesn't seem to work. edit: first method with double tnt worked first time I did it. don't know why the 1 tnt method wouldn't work.

8:20 one great way to increase clicks per second without an autoclicker or a macro is Mousekeys. It's native to windows and it let's the numpad 5 turn into a mouse click. So you can sit there hitting 5 between every mouse click and literally double your clicking speed

I’d recommend going into spectator (or downloading replay mod if you don’t want to cheat) to find where you got to the nether roof, so you don’t have to break more bedrock then necessary

is there any insight to what mechanic is being exploited to achieve this effect?
You essential replace the piston within the same tick, but because the piston state is extended by the replacing piston it thinks that the original was also extended which is only possible if the bedrock wasn't there, thus the bedrock isn't there.

In the first method the piston was placed sideways, even the extended piston seems to not obstruct the bedrock.??
I'm just trying to understand this whole exploit.
i tried it 3 times, with a auto clicker set at 1000 cps and it still didn't work, I did every thing just like in the video, the TNT blew up, the new piston got placed, but the bedrock just didn't break.
Edit: I am on a server tho so that might be the issue, should I just keep trying or is it impossible?

Hey eyecraft. You know how it’s hard to make dyed terracotta, and how the totem of undying is easy to get? What if there was a stackable block that you could get that allowed you to instaport to where you died with an automatic collection of your loot? But like the terra-cotta it takes several cycles of crafting expensive ingredients to obtain.

They literally made it cheap as dirt in the update before the last one...
As for dyes...green and brown can take a little while to get since they're biome specific...but once you get 1 of their ingredients, you have an infinite supply of the stuff. Then every other dye, aside from black, can be grown by spamming bone meal on the ground or combining the dyes you have access to after spamming bonemeal on the ground...except black. Which spawns in mass amounts in every river

i tried doing this and it didn't work for me. i even attempted placing the piston the up way under the trapdoor before breaking it and it still. didn't work. obviously the problem is me. i've tried going even closer to the corner of the obby however the piston keeps placing down.

You can't use a nether portal in the end dimension so you can't chunk load the End without another account. Only bedrock has playerless loaded chunks in the End
you only have to hold down right click with the flat method, no need to spam
How to break Bedrock step one make a 3 wide nether portal step two stand in the corner of it step three inevitably glitch through the obsidian in the nether and suffocate or if your armor is good enough to survive the suffocating probably fall through the floor

I tried this for hours, and the only way i could get it to work was while i was facing east (F3 and look for “facing:East”). I tried other directions but this was the only way i got it to work. And i was using the method that used the one netherrack block
Also to note, i was using an autoclicker as well, set to 1 ms per click

I think you have to use a different keybind. If you use mods, you can install a mod that lets you have multiple keybinds for one action so that you wont have a hard time trying to place the piston
then again if you're playing on a server, it could be that it has a plugin that prevents bedrock breaking

As an alternative, what do you think about using a coverter to convert a bedrock world to java, doing this, and then converting the world back from java to bedrock? Has anyone tried that?
There were ways to do this last year but I haven’t checked since then. It was using a cauldron and snow but that’s been patched. I made my way up there but on Bedrock Edition there’s nothing you can do. You can’t place blocks or anything at all. It’ll say build height limit exceeded or something like that.

It would be far easier and practice to switch to creative mode to break the bedrock then switch back to survival. And if you care about achievements then use an editor tool to turn achievements back on

That is completely false. Nether portals do not account for Y level when determining which portals to link. Additionally if this was true you would probably have to place the overworld portal at 16 seeing as 1 nether block = 8 overworld blocks.

The game chooses the closest portal (with xz-coordinates converted) in the other dimension to link to. This *does* consider the y-coordinate, it's just not multiplied/divided by 8 like the xz-coordinates.
If you have a portal on top the nether roof, you need your overworld portal to be around the same height or the overworld portal might be deemed "too far away" (depending on the height in the overworld) and generate a new nether portal under the ceiling.
y = 128 is to ensure the right portals link up to another, especially if you have 2 pairs of portals at the same xz-coordinates.

theres a world option to disable bedrock breaking, so it’s possible the server owner could’ve disabled that
