Cheap, Fast, Reliable Bedrock Breaker Using Redstone Lag (Improved Video)

  • As mentioned in the video, I don't claim to have discovered this method, but I am rather trying to make it more reliable, vanilla friendly, and accessible to the general Minecraft community.
    Tested working in 1.16.1, 1.17.1 and 1.18.2. Probably works in older versions as well.

    Hey
    Sorry I couldnt reply to each comment, as it gets tedious now that i have over 400 of them.
    So here is a FAQ you can read to help you through this.
    Q: Does this work in 1.19?
    A: Yes, it still does. This has nothing to do with update suppression so it wont be affected.
    Q: Does this work on paper, spigot or other bukkit based servers?
    A: Depends on the settings the admin set
    by default, it doesnt.
    you need to disable packet kick, bedrock breaking patch, and need to change the settings for packet spam limiter.
    Q: My game doesnt lag when i spam the lever.
    A: This highly depends on your pc, you can try placing more dust around the lever and increase your click speed, if that doesnt work you need to change your autoclicker, as some of them get capped and click slower than they claim.
    if you use tweakeroo, the link of which is in the description it should work for everyone.
    Q: My game lags but bedrock wouldnt break/there would be a ghost block.
    A: Make sure you can instantly mine the pistons, you need a good pickaxe and a haste 2 beacon for that.
    If you have those things but the issue still occurs, try lagging the game for less time, make sure you disable the autoclicker before placing the piston, and make sure you update the piston by placing/breaking blocks before breaking any of them.
    Note: For some reason if you try to do it while crawling under a trapdoor with more than 1 bedrock that can cause issues and not work.
    Note 2: As mentioned in a comment I have to unpin, its smarter to use redstone torches than this in some situations.
    I had a brainfart and overengineered this.
    Thanks for taking your time to read this, I am sorry but i will not answer any more questions on this video.

      The only thing I do not like about this method is it requires a mod/auto clicker to work. I am looking for a PURE vanilla way to do it. Meaning nothing except the original game code and your own two hands lol.

    • @ARandomNope
      @ARandomNope Před 4 měsíci +1

      There is a way to use an autoclicker in vanilla minecraft, and the simple trick to that:...is to change the keybind for placing blocks.
      There's a delay on placing blocks when right clicking, but when you hold down a key on a keyboard, there is no delay for some reason, and while I don't know why, it fully WORKS when using the tnt method, it would probably also work using this method, though I can take a guess that while this would be far more reliable than normally right clicking super fast, I have noticed it is slightly unreliable, at least when doing tnt.

    MAAANNNN this is so awesome! I don't typically break bedrock as I try not to use any "exploits" but there are a few I will use on occasion (Like tnt duping since sand is not renewable without exploit anyway, or breaking bedrock in the Nether roof because the 2x3(6) beacon you already setup doesn't work cuz of hidden netherrack). And I've always been able to do it with tnt, but always without very much consistency, PLUS you end up blowing stuff up. this is so much better!

    Ok, after trying this myself it failed pretty much every time. After i replaced the pistons, and waited for my game to update. I was teleported to the pistons again.
    Turns out you need to do the redstone grid with the lever inside of 1 chunk.
    I build it over 4 chunks because i thought that would be more effective. Turns out it was not.
    So if you also have that problem. Make sure your redstone lag switch is in 1 chunk. For me it worked like a charm after that.

      I tried that and it's still not working. Redstone lag in one chunk. Piston facing sideways on top of bedrock. Placing a block on top of the piston, and a redstone block on top of that. Placing a block next to the piston to update it, and it becomes powered. Destroying the redstone block and the piston stays powered. Turning on fast right click. Flipping the lag switch for about 5 seconds. Breaking the piston. Breaking the block next to the piston. Placing a piston facing downwards into the bedrock. Lag finished, the piston head breaks, and yet the bedrock isn't broken.

    hi & thx for the share.
    should an update suppressor do the job if u dont wanna add an autoclicker ? (& maybe should reduce every waiting time for the lag to end, switching on & off at our needs)

    • @chaosblend4312
      @chaosblend4312  Před 2 lety +3

      its more about lag than update suppression.
      You would need to use the update suppressor as a lag machine.
      But if you are building something that large, a 3 way bedrock breaker machine would be a better option.

    After a few times this seems to just stop working instead of breaking a row of bedrock it just seems to rewind the word. Any idea of why this is happening?
    Edit: After some more testing it seems to be location specific in some places i cant break bedrock with this method even when i only do 1 block at a time while if i move a few blocks over suddenly it works.

    i tried using this method with both a redstone torch and bud with a redstone block and the piston breaks after the lag ends, is there a way to fix this? (singleplayer world on 1.18.2)

    • @chaosblend4312
      @chaosblend4312  Před 2 lety +1

      Make sure you update the piston before you break it, as in, break or place a block right next to the piston.
      Also mining the piston faster might help, if you use an unenchanted pickaxe, I recommend getting a better pickaxe and preferably a haste 2 beacon to instamine it.
      I hope this helps.

      you can break pretty much any block
      doesnt have to bed bedrock
      and you can get things like headless pistons
      there is probably more but I dont know for sure.

  • @jackg418
    @jackg418 Před rokem +1

    this works very well for breaking 1 bedrock at a time, however when i try to do more than 1 at a time, it causes the bedrock to not actually break and just create a ghost block that just keeps returning to bedrock. any ideas at to why?

    • @chaosblend4312
      @chaosblend4312  Před rokem +1

      If you are using a trapdoor to get below the block, then try to crawl around it wouldn't work for some reason
      Try breaking one bedrock then you can break multiple at once
      Also make sure to turn off your autoclicker while placing the piston

    It's 10x times better than the TNT method. I remember back in the days where the real goal was to beat the game to get a dragon egg. Dupe it and break bedrock with it by dropping it in unloaded chunks. Good times.

      Any simple ddos protection should kick you if you do this. It's basicly a ddos attack you are simulating. So this will only work on private servers on your hard drives.

    What are the implications of this method? Does it destroy some normal aspects of the game such as some farms that rely on chances? or any others so that we may be warned of what to come of its implications

    • @chaosblend4312
      @chaosblend4312  Před 2 lety +5

      The advantages are its much cheaper, you can create holes as big as you want without losing a single item.
      Its much easier for medium sized holes.
      if you were to make for example a 2x2 chunk hole you would wanna use this method
      anything bigger id use an automatic bedrock breaker, which can get quite expensive.
      it just causes a long lag spike, might affect some stuff if you do it on bukkit based software like paper, since they have an annoying feature, where long lag spikes can cause tick skipping.
      Also I do recommend to stop any tree farms, quarries, world eaters or anything that involves TNT duping, as some TNT duper designs arent lag proof (Please dont quote me on this part, as I am not 100% sure of it).

    It's funny how no one actually ever explains how the bedrock is broken, it's always something like "it does something weird in the Minecraft code".
    I'm not an expert, and this isn't a dig at you Chaos, just from what I understand, when an extended piston is updated to it's retracted state, the game removes what would normally be the piston-head block. But due to the redstone lag (in this case) block updates are supressed so you're able to change out the extended pistons with downwards facing ones, and when the lag stops the game updates them to remove the piston-heads. Even though they're actually retracted the game still tries to remove the piston-head, which is actually a bedrock block.
