He is very under-rated as a writer. He is underrated as an actor and then he is underrated as a host too but he is suplendid in all 3 of those fields. People mostly like his writing but i can't firget Bobby D and Sibtain from Parey Afzal. His wit and delivering dialogues is truly astonishing. Plus he has a very close eye on how cinema works in Pakistan. Believe me the way he schooled Iffat omer on her show about cinema was truly surprising because he told her the reality and state if affairs in our industry compared to her idealistic thought process of cinema.

Uff the description of chai wala scene in Pak Dramas by Wasay 🤣. Also, I agree with what he said about the fact that the writers are not given the authority to write the stories of character's life in a story. For instance, turkish dramas are extremely long but the supporting characters have purpose & stories as well which makes it interesting. Also, love his honesty.

Dialogue based comedy, in my view, is the most difficult and needs intellect to perform and understand. It is what I call quality comedy. Naturally witty people are intelligent, observant and sensitive. It’s a quality blessed by Allah.
I wish we could have more good, dialogue based comedy dramas like, Aagan Tera, the Baraat series.

Just wanted to share something. Interestingly, a third category of marriage, ‘the cousin marriage’ was introduced in HKKST. 😊 Indeed, the dynamics of cousin marriage are quite different from arranged and love marriages. This can also be called the marriage of suitability for the extended family. Some of it’s reasons coming into my mind are
    1. Family property matters.
    2. Consolidation of relations between a family.
    3. ‘ Jaisay bhi haen, apne haen’, so better than going into an unknown territory.
    4. ‘ Bachpan se khuawish‘. Sometimes the rishta is fixed at the time of birth.
    5. ‘ Haq’. Agar larka ya larki achi hae tu pehla Haq family ka hae.
The concerned couple is used as a pawn by the family and has the least involvement , lesser than even in an arranged marriage. They are just told, ‘ nibhana hae.....’ 😊 Fortunately, the younger generation is moving away from it.

Can you guys address this trend in dramas where they show a sudden wedding. Like oh lets set the date for this Jummah, lets set the date for 2 days from now, lets set the date for the last friday of this month. Like hello, I’ve never seen a wedding decision made so hastily. No one gets married that quick. People give notice , 6-12 months in advance . I really dont get it.

This interview caught my attention to one point that people like Vasay Chaudhary who themselves mention that they were not good at studies, do they come from family with money. As dabbling in theater as a career doesn't guarantee one can pay their bills. In India and I am sure in Pakistan, one must be good at studies in 90s/2000s to have a decent career.
So, the reason people like him could take that risk and later prove to be successful is because they had strong financial backing. E.g. Kapoors in India are well known to be bad at studies (all failed like 10th class or something like that) but clearly have money and filmy background.

Jackson heights is a classical drama . The performance were amazing 🤩 . So many issues were shown in it . Lastly I saw Nilofer Abbasi in it after long time . After this drama I haven’t seen her in drama .
