Yumna & Saba over anyone for me. I love these two & their body of work & their versatility 💯. Though i was getting weary of waiting so long for yumna to back on screen & to have her in GM i thought she wouldn't have much role to play but happy to be proven wrong. Zarnab is tailored made role for yumna ❤️
Its commendable how Amna remembered Hamza's performance from BRKRJ because i feel the show wasnt popular enough and his performance was underrated. But what a performance. From portraying the carefree Karachi boy to falling in love and dealing with anger issues, workplace troubles, the insecurities his father led him to and then Farhaad's breakdown and regret when he passed away. Definitely one of my favourite performances of 2024.

I'm amazed that Hassan chooses Gentleman over Standup girl. Dramas like Stand up girl are the ones that are made after years whild Gentleman is like every other drama of KUQ. For me Standup girl and ZPKB are the top dramas of this year.

I completely agree with Amina. How can someone be considered the best actor when they keep playing the same repetitive characters? For example, the same role Sohail Hamza is playing in ZPKB-can Danish Taimoor do it? I can't even imagine it because of his clear-cut beard and layers of makeup with the same expression. Sorry, he doesn't belong in the top 5. On the other hand, the dual character Bilal Abbas played in Ishq Murshid was brilliant and showcased his talent. Actors like Nauman Ijaz and Sohail Ahmed are real actors who don't rely on vanity to play their roles.
Heroines! I go with Aamna, although all the heroines mentioned are really above average. Yumna is always my personal favourite for she becomes the character she’s playing. Sajal is excellent, but her perfect Urdu in perfect accent is a minus point for a village girl.
Everyone in zpkb is speaking perfect urdu and that was a concious decision made by the makers. The village itself is imaginary. They didn't want to stereotype anyone.

It is related to writing . Hiba is good actress but she didn't have the opportunity to play such characters . She is eager to play them put producers always give roles to known actresses without giving chance to others. Hiba was phenomenal in MH & Pehchan &that MKH one episode about mental disease her acting in them was perfect.

I have not had a chance to watch Standup Girl or Jaan-e-Jahan yet and Ishq Murshid, I watched 8 episodes but could not get into it. I totally agree with Hassan on the Hamza ( Jaan e jahaan ) and Danish ( Jaan Nisar ) debate. There was no demand of different expressions in both these roles.
I think Amna’s choice of best actors is more appropriate than Hassan’s ….a good actor is the one who completely mould himself into different characters so convincingly that you don’t think of how good looking or handsome the actor is originally it’s the character you remember him for!!
Amna you have to see how hiba played mental disorder patient she was perfect her acting gives me goosebumps 👏🏻👏🏻 . What hasaan sais about hiba was totally true she acts with her eyes , i never feel she is hiba on the screen she plays her characters well . So as critiques, Hassan a person of data/research and ofc you both having a solid background in journalism, such reviews would be nicer if they were just a little more structured in terms of deciding categories (popular/personal fav/critique), having the list of answers prepared beforehand and then you both having a discussion on why's of the choice. Delivers more clarity and coherence. Also defining a proper criteria beforehand on the terms of judgement like diff between Actor/Star which is distinguished as Absolute dynamc skill vs Presence/Aura, Good vs Great actor. For me best dramas are Zard Patton Ka Bunn, Gentleman, Radd, Khaie, Jaffa. I have not had a chance to watch Standup Girl or Jaan-e-Jahan yet and Ishq Murshid, I watched 8 episodes but could not get into it.

I think Amna’s choice of best actors is more appropriate than Hassan’s ….a good actor is the one who completely mould himself into different characters so convincingly that you don’t think of how good looking or handsome the actor is originally it’s the character you remember him for!!
Amna you have to see how hiba played mental disorder patient she was perfect her acting gives me goosebumps 👏🏻👏🏻 . What hasaan sais about hiba was totally true she acts with her eyes , i never feel she is hiba on the screen she plays her characters well . So the drama which were picked are all totally diff in genera, Radd , standup girl , Jane Jahan , IShq murshid are all for masses while dramas like Khaie , ZPKB is not for every one some dramas r like critically on top and some r just for entertainment purposes .

I understand the platform is more laid-back but wanted to give humble suggestion as your reviews are valued by us audience. So as critiques, Hassan a person of data/research and ofc you both having a solid background in journalism, such reviews would be nicer if they were just a little more structured in terms of deciding categories (popular/personal fav/critique), having the list of answers prepared beforehand and then you both having a discussion on why's of the choice. Delivers more clarity and coherence. Also defining a proper criteria beforehand on the terms of judgement like diff between Actor/Star which is distinguished as Absolute dynamc skill vs Presence/Aura, Good vs Great actor.
