Randomly hearing dutch words as a dutch person is always such a 'pause, rewind' moment. Great job btw!
Glad I wasn't the only one caught by surprise, though I do wonder where this was as or winter hasn't been that great this year
:DD this was the Amstel Ice Swim (now called Amsterdam Ice Swim)
i noticed the grey skies and the sad trees and was thinking to myself, hmm that looks like my country.. then suddenly all the people are speaking english with a dutch accent.. very suspect.
Yeah thick Dutch accents which you can recognize miles away plus ORANGE Beanies are dead giveaways.
ja holy shit ik vermoedde het bij het eerste shot al
Made me cold just watching 🥶 impressive effort Jonne 🤩
Hahhah, thanks Göran!
massive respect, because of this series I tried cold showers a few times but swimming in 2°C water is just on another level
I am cold showering for approx 5 years now and i can tell you its the best thing i did for my physical. Just dont stop and after few yeras your body will adapt.
I keep expecting this channel to absolutely blow up
The thought of entering ice cold water is very scary to me, eventhough I'm a skilled competition swimmer. I was never able to fully enjoy iceskating, because I was always anxious of the ice breaking. I have massive respect for people learning to embrace the cold
start with a cold shower, will be pretty hard to drown there 😄
Love your content bro :)
My 2023 goal is going in my cold tub 100 times this year. Wasn't planning on going today, but now I'm motivated - thank you for that. Also did a 5-day water-fast last week and watching your 10-day water-fast video on my day 3 really helped me too. Love your videos, please keep doing them!
Following your steps to this event since a while and feeling happy for you that you pulled it off finally. As usual, love how you build up these vids, storytelling spot on, be proud and thanks for those vids mate. Cheers
Thanks a bunch :) ! Happy that you've enjoyed the series
LOVE THIS! You're a legend man, that's seriously impressive! I started my own ice swimming journey in November, but think it will be a while before I can reach your level! Can't wait to see what's coming next
I follow you from Italy for about 2 years now. Keep going, you're doing great. You're very inspirational!!
Great content, super inspiring! Love your work guys
been following ur journey on ur ice-baths & was looking forward to this. well-worth it & amazingly inspiring, props to you😁
Top 10 channels for sure
great serie, great spirit, you are doing everything in the good order, one step at a time. Keep going because it is just getting better and better!
Inspiring as always! Nice job, and thank you!
Well done. It's an amazing achievement to be able to finish this event.
Great video man! Keep it up! Love your vibe
As always informative, exciting, entertaining and very inspiring! Thanks a lot!! Will you swim the ice mile later?
Thanks😇 Not sure of the ice mile yet, but I'd like to try some longer distances for sure
Amazing journey you endured for this!
Gosh, Jonne... 😮😮😮 Kudos to you!
Hope your knee will get better soon 😊
Yes! This the content we want!
I got chills just watching lol...but for real mad respect!
Production quality going up! Nice work.
This video was drop-dead cold and cool. Nice one Joanne
Nice work! You inspire me to do better! Hope to see more of your work in the near future!
Man, I love your videos so much, keep it up!!!
My respects for that effort!!! Cool stuff man
Crazy video! Love your content!
good job Jonne
So the value of the psychedelic is that it shows you the fluidity of consciousness. That's one of the key values, just the fact that you get to change states and change into very radically different states. That's a huge eye-opening experience. Do not underestimate the value of that. That alone right there will change your whole life. To be able to pop out of your life and look back upon it as though it was all an imagined hallucination.
That's what it happens to be imagining right now. The next second who knows what it could imagine. It can imagine anything it wants but it just so happens that it keeps imagining something consistent so that we can get a sense of reality.
Great video! Thank you!
Great job 👏
Great video as always
Congrats 🎉
GOOD JOB ! Super inspiring
Your skill of storytelling has been levelled up again!
:) one step at a time!
Fantastic🎉 great job
10/10 content and editing
Wow! Very impressive!!
This was my favorite you’ve done in a while. Excellently done ✅
Awesome, thanks Brad!
Thanks for your amazing videos I recently got into swimming because of you!
Awesome to hear that!
Gosh I dig these videos.
this is a crazy event!!
Amazing. I absolutely love cold water but at this level I think I'd struggle! When your face feels like it's going to fall off is when it gets a bit much
Bravo! Well done! You are super human!
Loved your video! What is the name of the event and at what location in The Netherlands was this being held.
Thanks.
THE BEST. PERIOD.
🥳
I don’t get why your videos aren’t blowing up, amazing editing and super fun
Nice as ever!
I can just imagine Instructor Patstone laughing and yelling at everyone in this competition. If you know, you know. 😂
But for real though, hats off to you and everyone who competed. Absolutely insane cold endurance.
I thumbs up so I get to see more of your content
Cold one 🥶
Thanks!
Appreciate the support :) !
Can't wait for the Ice mile competition! Only down side of this episode was that it could have been longer =)
8:11 just wondering if you realized the fault during the swim or afterwards? Like does one have any brainpower to focus on problem solving in there?
so i left my large paddling pool up during the winter in order to do cold immersion. The difference between 4 and 2 degrees is huge for me. At 4 degrees i can manage maybe up to a minute at most - not great but haven't been doing for long - but at 2 and below my legs and feet instantly scream at me and i cant manage it. I tried just above freezing the other day and before i knew i was in i was out. Funny to watch apparently. Respect.
So true! That sense after getting out of the water! Hey have you considered sea kayaking in Greece? It would be a great summer adventure video to hop between islands with a sea kayak
Thanks for the idea, island hopping in Greece sounds like a ton of fun!
Can you make a video of you experimenting body weight circuit training please?
I just stumbled onto your channel ... how do you not have a million subscribers?! Well, you just got another in me. 😊 This video was quite interesting, especially since we have heat advisories going on where I live. An ice swim sounds kinda awesome right now. 🐬🥶
I think this is unfortunately the risks of late game CZcams :( his videos are entertaining, not overlong , great editing. But it’s like a needle in a hay stack now. Love the videos btw
The race was in the Netherlands I guess. A video with the Ice Man Wim Hoff would be nice to see, if possible.
Yep, this was in Amsterdam!
Fair play man
I hate the cold, like most people, but I'm also fascinated with trying cold water swimming.
The cold saved my life
Johnny, it's fun to see you in a new discomfort like ice swimming, move on man 💪🏾✊🏾
Twisted Sister for the win! We are gonna make it! Yes, we are gonna make it, even though its cooold!
As a retired competitive swimmer I consistently did that for the 1650 even in temperature regulated pools with well fitting goggles/suits 😅 Amazing work 🤙🏼
Hypothermia, drowning, cardiac arrest - them's some serious risks. Wow. Glad you survived 🙂 Thanks for another entertaining, "better you than me" video 😉
any chance you are finnish?
8:31 litterally what it feels like to swim the 200 butterfly
You are getting ripped!
You listening to Twisted Sister! I like your style even more!
🤙
So how far did he have to swim? Or was it as long as you can event?
I participated in the 250m swim :)
@@TheUnlazyWay good, I was afraid you swan the kilometer race in 4 minutes! Great job anyway, I went to 2degree water for 10 seconds and that is my max, thanks for your motivation!
every day I do Iceswimming in the winter. The coldest waterthemp. was 1.3°c. The video was taken in the Netherlands, but where was it?
I'm Dutch also, but living in France. Would like to come over and take a "bath" there🥶
What country is this in? I just can't tell, if I had to I'd say Austria but not sure
The Netherlands :)
❤
Did you travel to the Netherlands for this?
Yep!
Where is this competition?
Amsterdam :) it's called the Amsterdam Ice Swim (previously Amstel Ice Swim)
Oothan huomannut Areenassa dokkarin ”Kylmä”?
Well done Jonne! Just breathe :)
Make a patreon or something like; it appears that CZcams does not recommend your content very much, despite the fact that it is excellent. Thank you for everything you do!
Thanks for the support :) ! (and sorry for the late reply..)
2.9 degrees water in the netherlands?? what
Dear Dutchman,
Please keep doing what you're doing.
I'm surprised that you were able to talk directly after the swim. Even when I go running in the cold, I'm unable to talk, because my mouth got numb.
noice
Ha ha. Twisted F***ING Sister! 🤘😎
RESPECT. this was some epic shit. Was this in the Netherlands? somebody was speaking Dutch.
Yep, this was in Amsterdam :)
@@TheUnlazyWay i could’ve watch you swim. Anyway those Dutch people are nuts. 😉🤣
Some time ago I swam in what I thought was a 7C degree water only to find out later it was actually 12C…2C must be hell of an experience
Here in Pakistan, I don't have any bath tubs , so have been taking cold showers this winter , will miss them in summer
you should've let us know that you were in Netherlands!
Looks like a fun, and very cold, experience. A lot of the sports you cover seem to boil down to the mindset you engage in it with. Your good attitude is what I take away from your videos the most!
Yeah ... very fun °_o
Collab with Average Rob!
Damn, these people have the most dutch accent ever. It's why I recognized my fellow countrymen so easily. 😅
based
Best moment in the entire video was: "takes like 20 minutes, in 2 degree water, damn that's intense" then proceed to overthink life choices and goes "...ok..."
I done all the drugs, a lot. Cold water is by far the best high!
congrats honestly, how are you able to endure the pain in the feet and hands due to not protecting them? i have to honestly ...
Is that time really 4 min for 1000m? That would be a world record by far.
He said he is doing the 250 meters
ÖöÖööööhhhmmm ... you forgot you neoprene suit -_- !
Hei :)
Still think it's insane you have less than 1m subs
