- Xbox. Once a platform now trending quickly and seemingly irreversibly toward being a publisher. The generation has not been kind to Xbox but it doesn't mean the Microsoft-backed gaming giant can't chart a new path. I think the we've already seen the first step of them moving into their new role as publisher and that more and more games will continue to land on PlayStation and Nintendo until they are almost all 3rd party.

I dont think it's over. I think this is a clear new shift in strategy. Xbox is becoming a publisher basically and becoming more steam like. They may be losing the console war but in terms of future proofing and seeing the bigger picture this will secure them for next 20 years plus. Still I say this as a form xbox owner. When the changes got announced I built a PC with a 4060 in it lol

1 of the biggest differences between Xbox and PlayStation is PlayStation let there devs cook.

@@egordon7543 Arkane Austin made Prey. They were a very talented studio that was forced to make Redfall. MS saw that piece of garbage and was like, yep that’s a winner while Arkane wanted the game cancelled.
Microsoft games coming to Sony consoles is good for the Xbox users. Because Playstation players don't take crap, meaning that those games will eventually be better on all platforms due to the Playstation release.
Think of Game Pass like an early access program, once the game is ironed out it will be ported to Playstation and everyone wins.
You just have to be honest to yourself and understand what you are getting into with Gamepass and what Microsoft business model and expansion plans and are.
There is no such a thing like blue vs green anymore.
So what happens when the Xbox console isn’t no more? Where are all those GP users going to play day and date? That is IF the console goes away and Xbox just becomes 3rd party.
@@dood1234DOOD It won't matter. XBox is already an app, some TVs are actually built with it. Same with phones and PC. Only the controller will survive 🤷🏻♂️
PS5 owners should not be subsidising Xbox and Microsoft for their financial failures and commercial failures. I will not buy any Microsoft game that comes to the PlayStation platform.

Good take: if they are a game publisher, and that is the signaled focus, then it would be a disservice to their shareholders not to bring profitable games to PlayStation. Console war is over, enter a new era.

I hope you're working on a video about the Xbox studio closures. Sony's policy of paying independent studios for quality exclusives is much healthier for developers and the industry than Microsoft's rampant acquisitions. Tangoworks RIP.

Including the studio that brought them their most successful game in the last 15 Years. MS really is the most pathetic and parasitic company eroding the industry. If Microsoft wants me to buy their games then they should bring them to the system I play on. The PS5.
Will xbox turn 3rd party? Eventually yes. Will they stop making consoles? No. Majority of gamepass subs are on xbox. They clearly cant make an identity with games, so they should make an affordable console/pc hybrid. That would catch peoples interest in my opinion..
I think we'll always see some sort of hardware - but I think it being a console may be different than what our current expectations are now - and most of game pass users are on pc unfortunately

I doubt it. With how poor game sales are on Xbox, there is no incentive for Sony to do it. There’s also no way they would ever put their big first party games on Game Pass.

People need quit being single minded MS has been 3rd party since Minecraft. Also people need see the bigger picture they put 4 acclaimed games on other platforms because there fin acquired someone else in which nobody can say they keep all games exclusive or takes games away. Some games will be multiplate and some will be exclusive to Xbox and PC
I think more games will come to competitors. I don’t think their flagships will. Especially if they still intend to sell consoles. At the end of the day unless it’s announced officially by Microsoft it’s all hearsay.
