- The Starfield mods have landed, and a lot of fans are angry, but why? I will sit down with @30nsg to discuss the latest Starfield update that is causing quite a stir in the community. Will this have an affect on Starfield Shattered Space when it lands? It was just announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 and looks very promising.
Starfield is a 2023 action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. In the game, the player character joins a group of space explorers who must venture to various corners of the galaxy to acquire mysterious artifacts.
Shattered Space is a new story expansion for Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios’ epic role-playing game and first new universe in more than twenty-five years.

Good watch, but it went sideways with Mike trying to be purposely obtuse when we all know from a console player perspective, multi-platform meant console exclusive without consideration for PC. As long as he's understood the industry, his constant attempt to play semantics became migraine inducing.
Halo 1 was multiplatform available on Xbox, windows and Mac
Halo 2 was multiplatform available on xbox and windows (only for windows vista).
Halo 3 was the first time it didn't release on PC and become a console exclusive.
Getting into PC was less accessible that it is today which made Halo way more accessible on console than PC giving the notion that is what's only available with the console.
I think Mike is right in this argument becomes it comes from a factual point if you look at the definition of the terms, but I understand what Lono is saying.

The 7 buck mod is 1/10 of the price of the main game for less than 1/100 of the content added. THAT is what people are upset about. The skin-analogy doesn't really work because content usually is free in games you pay for skins.
People were complaining about fallout first too and then they all ended subbing anyway. Bethesda fans have proven they will fold

I'm pretty heavily into starfield I don't know where the anger is coming from. Or at least I'm not seeing it anyway I'm on the Reddit and in the discord nobody appears angry any more than they normally are. I was just on the Reddit earlier today I don't see any post about anybody being mad about the mods 🤷🏾♂️. I think the added content was a little short but I also think it's supposed to be an ongoing thing as well. I could be wrong but I think you'll get updated bounty missions in the future and they're included in the $10 that you paid already. If it's $10 each time they add a new bounty then that's legitimately gross.
my problem with creation club and beteshda is as one of the mod creators that got their mod stolen and monetized with out them asking by taking a copy of the mod of of nexus and putting it in their mod store and then sending a takedown request to nexus that is what made me stop working on modding at all so i dont agree att all about the direction they are going with this especialy with them using my online handle to promote the mod and giving none of the money they mode on it to the modder or only giving 1 percent of the income from the mod to the person that made it so no i have no trust in them at all

"Exclusive" by its literal meaning partains to the exclusion of the title on another platform. It has nothing to do with the number of platforms.
That’s actually a helpful distinction for our present context. Originally tho, it definitely meant “just this one platform”.
I think PC gets left out of the “multiplat” talk because nobody is out there wondering if it could or can run on PC! It’s more than capable.
Same way that the switch is left out of the conversation because the hardware is massively gimped compared to the other systems so people DO wonder if the switch is capable of playing it.
Multiplat is just thought of on a wider scale as PS4, PS5 and the Xbox systems. (Just the 2 systems, technically four individual systems).
Oh and as for Nintendo not sharing their toys. That’s fine! It works well for them. But they aren’t shy to not only put others platforms games on their system OR give free advertising to other system franchises with such a behemoth title as Super Smash Bros.

58:28 back in the day the term of multiplat deals with the consoles because pc gaming wasn’t as popular so the regular gamers on consoles described multiplat referring to just the consoles, pc is a outlier 20 years ago

I now hate the word Multi plat 🤣🤣. Terms work best when everyone understand them it’s more efficient. 30 and still gaming is technically correct but at the end of the day it wastes time. If sometimes starts to become an outlier from the term then you change the terms or adjust it. It’s like calling Malenias “Waterfowl Dance” attack and calling it the “attack with sword slashes that has 3 phases that can one shot you”.

Pc and Xbox have always been one of the same to me so if something to is considered multiplatform I think of Playstation xbox and Nintendo. But yeah sure I guess xbox and pc is multipliers too.
If it's on gamepass it's on other devices. I can play starfield on my fridge.
In answer to your question. I want to play Indiana Jones. OK where can I play Indiana Jones!. You can play it on PC, Xbox, android phones, iPhone, amazon firestick, LG oled series tvs, Sony bravia tvs, jailbroke ps4s, Samsung smart fridge, tesla all electric.
Just don't buy them no one is making you! I say the same with every game that has microtransacrions

Part of the frustration for me in this conversation, wasn’t who was right or who was wrong, it was that Mike would constantly interrupt Lono when making a point, it was very jarring

There is also a mod to remove pronouns so we don’t have modern day nonsense in the game to very nice

I'm not angry but I am concerned where they could go with this. First the price is way overchaged pricewise, like you say. However, I don't want Bethesda to turn into Bungie where their business ethics are concerned. It's why I left Destiny 2.

@@rdavidsmith why not? You can hyper jump to different planets ypu can actually fly into the atmosphere and land. You have land vehicles these detailed cities all similar on starfield except better. Hell you can't even fly into the atmosphere on starfield it's all a cinematic
Xbox games also are playable on android devices, tvs and smart phones. Android and ios is a platform. There are more than 2 platforms for playing Xbox. It's not just PC and Xbox console.
They've literally done this with Skyrim and Fallout 4. People complaining about nothing again
