- Today, we take a look at the new caliber from Weatherby, Inc. The Mark V Backcountry Ti chambered in the new 6.5 WBY RPM. This is a sweet shooting rifle and the best feature... It comes in weighing only 4.9lbs without a scope. Brian has had first hand experience using this rifle this year on many backcountry hunts. This rifle sure is a BEAUT!
Brian and Ryan are 👍👍. But this review could have been much better. So the information portion of this vid gets 👎👎👎👎👎 and 🤭🤭
$3,400 + scope cost.....No thanks I'll stick with my Bergara.
you said : you are not into long range shooting and it killed bears efficiently at 250-300 yards. Then you are saying you tested at 1200 yards and it was consistent. i listen carefully and you avoid to talk about accuracy and ammo tested ( results ). it is a 9 lug design ? did you tested how many lugs were actually locking ? anyway....... nice but theres so much more to say about a rifle other then : its nice !
If they kept their trademark stock, the rifle would kick even less
Bought my wife the Mark V Camilla 6.5RPM. She loves shooting it. This year she applied for and got a doe tag for the first time in our 27year marriage. She shot her first deer ever at 111yds deer went 53yds and was dead. Nothing w really left of the lungs when dressing her out.
Good luck finding ammo with the challenges in today's social climate. I'll keep my Rem 700 in 270. Always heard guys rag about ounces when I rode bicycles all the time. Ehhh!
I watch almost all of Gritty's stuff. Cool that you guys could have him on.
U guys need to review the sig cross!
Love my weatherby wish I had that one 👊🏻
I guess I'm kind of curious whether the 6.5 rpm is going to overtake the 6.5 prc in the hunting community. Seems like a lot of the rifle manufacturers are going to 6.5 prc
From interviewee to interviewer. I remember when Brad was an apprentice/intern at Gritty Films and have listened to the elk calling podcasts that he was on.
Nice work Brad. Another good and interesting review.
Love Backfire's reviews. You guys should review Upland Optics stuff! It's a company based out of Boise here in Idaho that has optical quality rivaling world-class companies, and it was started a few years ago by young adult Idaho natives at Boise State.
Great scope selection, American made Leupold!
Next rifle I get will just be custom. Its not hard to tell McMillan your action, barrel, and trigger guard specs for inletting. Then just send the stock, and action to bartlein barrels. They can profile the barrel, chamber it, blue print your action if necessary, cerakote it, and glass bed it.
This is the caliber I'm very interested in!! How long does it take for saami to approve it?? I would like to see other companies making rifles and ammo in this round. I've been shooting Weatherby for over 30 years. Starting with the 300 Wby, I've been getting less recoil over the years. Was very disappointed with the 6.5-300 and was thinking it would have been the shorter .257 Wby length. This new cartridge is very exciting and look forward to seeing more of it!!
Sweet
Everyone forgets about the Trijicon Accumark 3-9…. Better glass than most of the Leupold lately as well. Definitely than the VX3HD…. I know because I compared hard before buying the Trij.
Neat rifle. I like a heavier rifle as I shoot them better, but still a great setup.
I just bought ( Yesterday ) so haven't shot it yet, a Howa Kuiu in 308 with the #1 contour barrel 20 inch. I know it will heat up fast, but what kind of 100 yard groups were you getting with the pencil thin barrel? I will shoot mine next week when the scope rings arrive. That Weatherby looks amazing!!! Thanks..
