    Just discovered your site and subscribed…..I have been making a similar quilt from a kit I got from the lovely people at Jordan fabrics. It is so much fun to make….theirs is called Mosaic and I am making it to hang in my church….which is called Mosaic. I like the idea of the bias tape. Thank you ….going to try this method with my next one.💕Cathy in Montana

    Clever! When you start the second 9” trim you start in a bit and back up. That will save my rulers. I’ve nicked the corner so many times!

    Love this stained glass version. Great tutorial on squaring up as well. This one is definitely on my 'to do' list. It gives me ideas for the Twister template as well.

    Lovely quilt, awesome technique...thumbs up for sure. Question - are there any specific issues/concerns with the tape (sashing) when the quilt is washed? Any specific settings/temps, etc.?

      I feel the same Linda. I am the one that does the filming and am constantly telling Wanda to close the blade. (She's much better at doing it now - this was an old video.)

    Very eye catching :) I love the look using the bias tape rather than the usual 1 inch strips. I must put some of that on my list. Was one roll enough for the entire quilt? Did you need more?

    Lovely idea, Although I havent seen the tape in NZ. Also I urge you to shut your rotary cutter between cuts, should you knock it on the floor your toes could get cut.

      This tape seems to be hard to get in OZ and NZ, Caroline, however Amazon stock it and they will post this item to Australia, here is a link amzn.to/2yL6MzP. Thank you for the reminder about closing the cover on the blade, I am usually really careful but obviously wasn't focussed at the time. :)

    OK so we now cut and sewed 4 blocks! But, how to make all the next blocks exactly the same with out a template?

    Instead of spreading them out like that, leave them stacked. Take on stack & put the top to the bottom of the pile. On the opposing corner take the bottom of the stack & put it to the top. On the two remaining opposing stacks take one & take the two top pieces & put on the bottom of the stack & on the last stack take the bottom 2 & put them on the top of that stack.
