Just had a thought - how about using charm squares for the colored blocks (and possibly for the white/light blocks if charm packs can be found or cut white/light layer cakes into 4 5” blocks). I also found a tub I have with many Mini Charm Packs for the corner stones - I would just need to cut strips for the sashing and for the first border.

Thank you so much for saving my sanity! When I first looked at this quilt, I figured I would,be sewing strips, and big and small blocks - why it never occurred to me to sew the way you have shown is amazing, even for this old,dog who has been around for many years in quilting😁😁😁. This would make great quilts for my guild’s charity, just need to size them down as they will be for children of all ages!!! 👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁

Beautiful quilt expertly demonstrated. I love my GE STripology ruler. I have an antique iron that I place on it to keep it from shifting. "Shift will happen" even with "non slip". Any block with bias (flying geese, HST's, half rects, Triangle in Squares) will experience wonk. Even with the best cutting, sewing and pressing techniques, you are still left with the imperfect nature of fabric. Using slightly oversized methods and accurate trim down is best practice. I truly believe it is the only way to get a perfectly balanced corner in HST's and perfect headroom and squaring. (You can tell this is a soapbox topic for me!)

Why do you sew across the zipper at the 1.25” mark instead of 2” where the sewing ends and where the zipper will actually stop?
