Always loved the Jim Lange version cause of it. Not sure if there's a studio cut (would love to see one pop up if it exists) or if it was always just done on the spot for each episode
@@xSmootx This exact version was used most of the time - there was a slightly different version occasionally which sounds as if it was played LIVE.

Websites say that it was halfway during the run that melody roulette became 1 spin and 7 tunes. I think the 5/7 maximum wheel spin rule was less than two months into run.
First time I've seen the car pulled for the home viewer sweepstakes. I'd heard rumours that the car and the cash weren't included.

I doubt it! Not only because GSN never aired any Name That Tune episodes. But also FreeMantle, who owns BUZZR does not own the Sandy Frank Library.
Even if they wanted to...they'd have to pay insane music rights.

@@WizardOfWor exactly, before Tribune was shut down, they paid a pretty penny to make sure the episodes of WKRP were in tact since they used popular music, and not sound-alikes.

I didn’t like it either when Melody Roulette went to the one spin format that killed all the excitement for the round
