Check valve bad. Fuel returns to the tank.

That certainly would have the same effect. This happened to be the fuel primer assembly

don't worry about that stupid primer pump just put a 12 volt inline fuel pump on it and problem solved

That MAY have worked, but would rather keep it original. The fact that it was pulling air in through that likely means I would still have issues with an electric pump 🤷 but it's easy enough to replace

  • @christophermckernan3144

you need to be sitting in it with the seat belt fastened as there are safety switches

  • @christophermckernan3144

change out those fuel filter bowls. they are not the right ones. get it running before worrying about drive lever. that is a simple adjustment under the seat. you really need a manual or find someone alot smarter than you to work on it before you totally fuck it up. just calling it as i see it.

Interesting take. Yes the levers are fairly simple to adjust, just need to get around to it at some point. And I did get it running, the primer pump was the issue all along, as I correctly suspected. With those same fuel bowls it runs fine now. Not sure what you think is wrong with them since they appear oem equivalent from a lot of what I saw online 🤷. I am also not sure how my intelligence is factoring in to me tinkering and learning for the first time on equipment I've never worked on before. But you're entitled to your opinion. I'm here to learn and share. A large part of that is getting feedback in the comments. So while I may not be the most versed in this equipment, I am working to improve myself and showing my mistakes along with my successes. So I appreciate your viewpoint but perhaps you should also seek to build rather than demean.

you need to thoroughly bleed the fuel system as well as the injectors. ford engines are tough but a motherfucker to bleed and get running again. use starter fluid sparingly as these engines don't like it.

Yea could see the starting fluid was not a friend. But got it running 😂

Then how does the fuel move from the lower fuel tank up to the engine to run?
