    Under the seat there is a suction filter screen before charge pump.
    Must be cleaned regularly.

      No way….i love Cats, but when the big black “C” is on a machine, it gets crazy expensive unless they’re old. Some of the best balanced grading cats were the old 50’s 8 and 9 U D6”s, ya know?

    No. Mine was stuck on the post it slides over and I couldn’t break it loose. Maybe spray it with WD 40 and let it set if you can. I needed the machine, so I took it off any way possible. Thanks for the comment. Good luck to you. Any other questions, feel free to comment.

    Whats the best way to get the solenoid off? The top of it gets wedged on the panel in front of it? Is that why you had to destroy it to get it off?

      Also, my machine won't start... Sol light doesn't come on when I put my seatbelt on.. you think it's problem with solenoid ? Or should it start and just not allow me to use the boom

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před rokem

      The solenoid on mine was stuck on the post it goes over. I needed the machine asap so as it was cracked, I just tore it off. May use WD 40 and soak it to try and loosen it. Mine was waaay under the seat on driver side. The only way I could get to it was to pull the skid plate off as on video. It’s the one that controls up and down. There is another one on pass side of the seat that is easier to get to that controls the bucket curl. Your machine should start. When you attach the seat belt, the seat belt light on the right off seat should go out. Steer should run, just not operate whatever solenoid is bad. Your solenoid light on the bottom of the control module should come on and stay on it solenoids are good. The lights should come on as you start, then go out if a solenoid is bad as module can’t find the bad one. Hope this helps. Comment again if you need to.

    I’m a bit late to the party. Can you recall if you had to remove anything other than belly pan to access the module. I’ve seen instructions that say remove fuel tank! I’m hoping my new problem is just electrical but want to be prepared for the worst.

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před 10 měsíci

      No. I did not remove anything else. On my 555, the lift solenoid is to the left side of the seat when sitting on it way the heck down. Taking off the skid plate was the answer as then it was accessible. I did not have to remove the fuel tank. Hope this helps.

    unrelated but I have a New Holland L553, where is your fuse box located?

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Your question intrigued me. I didn’t remember ever seeing a fuse box on that machine. I checked my owners manual and it doesn’t have one listed anywhere. It does have a circuit breaker on the ignition system. Anybody out there have a New Holland 555? Maybe you can help us out. It may be because it has a Kubota diesel? Sorry I can’t be of more help.

    • @AndyDolphinArtist
      @AndyDolphinArtist Před 10 měsíci +1

      My understanding is there are two circuit breakers on the L555 - located near the starter and glow plug relays on the engine-bay side wall (right side when looking from behind machine). Don’t know if L553 has same.

    My auxiliary valve is sticking in both positions. The lever is located on the right steering shifter. It is controlled by a cable that runs to the valve in front of your right foot position. What would be your recommendations for a fix.

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před 6 měsíci

      What model is your steer?

    • @haroldefird5789

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před 6 měsíci

      From everything you’ve said, on the right forward lever, the top rotates left and right. That controls the onboard hydraulics. (It has a cable.) Is that the one you mean? Both forward and reverse levers for moving machine don’t use cables.

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před 6 měsíci

      If so, I would remove the cable and either work it by hand and lubricate it or soak it in oil. If it is not the cable, take it off and work the valves by hand and try cleaning and lubricate by hand. Does this sound like a plan or am I missing something?

    • @haroldefird5789
      @haroldefird5789 Před 6 měsíci

      I think you are correct on your assessment. I’ll take the cable out and lubricant. Thanks

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před rokem

      Do you have a control module to the right of the driver seat? If you do, check the bottom of it and make sure when you plug up the seat belt that the little green lights are all on at the bottom of the module. Check my video for location and explanation. If they are all on, you don’t have a solenoid problem. Hope this helps. Let me know how you make out. Mine failed in the down position by the way. Don’t know if it would fail raised or not as I never ran into that particular situation. Mine started and ran fine, just wouldn’t raise the bucket. You may have a totally different problem, I don’t know.

    Hello if anyone knows how to loosen up a stiff control valve, I took the pedals apart and the rod connected to the bucket pedal is stiffer back and forth compared to the boom rod? Can I just twist the rod to see if it will loosen up?

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před 9 měsíci

      I think it probably needs lubrication, but I am not sure. If you twist it, be gentle. Hope this helps.

    • @markhuru
      @markhuru Před 9 měsíci

      I took rod off of pedal, and per terrible design yet again on skid steer, impossible spot to even see… tryed spray lube and work back and forth , nothing…what gets me is how can the designs of these machines they actually have brains… I swear at these things every time I have to work on them!

    • @AJCurtis
      @AJCurtis  Před 8 měsíci

      I understand. What you are dealing with is what’s called mechanical over hydralic. I absolutely prefer it over computers running the machine like cars do. You need to trace it back to the valve it uses to open and close the hydraulics. Pull off seat and front cover and take them off and out of steer. You’ll need to see if valve needs replaced or can be freed up. I think probably it just needs freed up. Good luck. By the bye, I would much rather work on these guys than any car or truck out there. Good luck.
