  • Installing mid perch collar on Ford Raptors from 2017-19. This is a basic install on how I did mine. All the collars in the title above work similar to the one I have in the video.
    Disclaimer: when working with spring compressors like the one in the video installing is very dangerous as the strut is under extreme pressure.

    So there are a bunch of videos out there with installs of F-150 suspension mods from Stage 3, CJ Parts, American Trucks, etc. I have to say that this is the best video I have seen out of all of them. I have a F-150 (non Raptor) and I have installed Camburg Billet Upper control arms as well as Fox coil-overs and this is the first video that actually shows REAL person without any fancy editing doing an install. Seriously, I wish more people would do videos like this where they just set up a camera and let it run while they wrench on their rigs. Great job!

    thanks for this. Why did you mark the assembly before disassembling? could you not just put it back on?

    • @JJBanuelos
      @JJBanuelos  Před 4 lety

      To make sure everything lines up after the disassemble. That way you don’t run into any alignment issues with the upper strut mount.

    So what did you do about torquing the bottom shock bolt back to over 400lbft? I just had this issue with the steering rack bolts. I could only get them to 200lbs. May order the dewalt driver that has 3 different settings because I’m changing to Fox 3.0s next and will run right back to that issue.

    • @JJBanuelos
      @JJBanuelos  Před 5 lety

      alford35 just used the Milwaukee impact to tighten the bolt & had no issue of any with it being loose. Honestly I don’t think it’s even that tight from the manufacturer. 200ft lbs should be fine. I don’t think you will have any issues.

    Great Video thank you man. Going to use this to install my Eibach Springs. So i noticed you did not TQ anything. No issues there after ? Also was your alignment way off after the install. Thanks

      @JJBanuelos  Před 4 lety

      Had truck checked out at alignment shop shortly after. They had to just adjust toe a little bit not much. Never had any issues at all. Would have gone with springs if they were available at the time for sure! Thanks for watching & the support!

    Did you measure the before height? I only have about an inch difference not sure what setting to go for. Also did you get an alignment afterwards? Thanks for the video.

    • @JJBanuelos
      @JJBanuelos  Před 5 lety +1

      Yeah I was also about an inch difference front to rear. I went with the 1.75” setting & now I’m about level. Did do an alignment as you prob should anything you mess with your suspension. My toe & total toe setting last were slightly off. Thanks for watching. Also please make sure to hit that subscribe button for me!

    Those Spring tools were screaming, scary shit.
    I went to top perch on my Gen1 Raptor to fit 37's, the ride quality was awful.
    If i did this, id go with the Geiser Springs

    • @JJBanuelos
      @JJBanuelos  Před 4 lety

      Rick Walbridge yeah anytime I use these damn spring tools they’re sketchy. Ride was a little stiffer. Definitely would have gone with géiser springs back then if they’re we’re out but weren’t offered at that time. Thanks for watching please make sure to subscribe!

    • @luisrosas300
      @luisrosas300 Před 4 lety

      @@JJBanuelos Just to clarify the GEISER spring are going to make the ride even stiffer and i would not lift my tuck more than 2 inches you are going to wear your componets faster plus in my opinion the nose sits much higher than the rear and the tire its going to look small.

    • @JJBanuelos
      @JJBanuelos  Před 4 lety +1

      luis rosas yes the Geiser springs are nice but In my own opinion I’d go with the Eibach springs. If you were to go that route. The 1.75” lift was just the right look on mine it did make the suspension a little stiffer but not much. Thanks for watching. Don’t forget to subscribe!

    Not sure if I missed it but what was the heights before you installed it?

    • @JJBanuelos
      @JJBanuelos  Před 5 lety +1

      Front was at 39.5” & with the 1 3/4 adj put me at 41 1/4 & the rest sitting at 41 3/4. Have about 15k miles when I did install so plenty of time for suspension to settle for correct height.

    • @salt7379
      @salt7379 Před 5 lety

      @@JJBanuelos my rear sits about 43 and my fronts are 39 3/4 so if i go with a 3" lift i should be almost even

    • @JJBanuelos
      @JJBanuelos  Před 5 lety

      Correct you’ll definitely be about even. The ride will definitely be a lot stiffer than what it is now if you decide to go with a 3in lift.
