I liked the video all you making. (I leaning much)
I'm subscribed already
For the giveaway..No comment needed?
I'm already late 🕢😊
As an engineer, that much mechanism for $47 is a whole lot more impressive than something that's magnificent with a price to match. Much respect.
Many thanks
I haven't been into watches since my collection was stolen in a home burglary in 2018 - 128 in all, ranging from Chinese Alphas to Breitling for Bentley. Recently, I stumbled onto one of your videos and my wallet hasn't been the same. You have brought back the love that I lost after the burglary. I want to thank you for reigniting the passion I had for watches once more. Thank you!
Aw man that sucks. Glad that you have found your passion once again 💪🏻💪🏻
@@HorologyBiologyThank you for helping me find it again. It is appreciated. My wife had cancelled our home owner's insurance for a couple of months so we could bring her homeless mother down from Alaska before winter and she didn't tell me. The insurance was supposed to go back into effect on December 1. Burglary happened on November 28. A true disaster!
wow man, i'm sorry for you, i hope you have recovered from that.. what a bad situation
The tongue is a vital part of the regulating process 👀🤣, also the fact the watch was in the shape it was at the end is absolutely insane. Amazing what you can find online
😅😅😅😅 well spotted
Amazing how they can produce something so complicated, pay import tax, free shipping, employees, materials etc. for that price and still make a profit. I may just buy one for the heck of it !
Probably very low employee wages I would think mate 😓
@@HorologyBiologythat’s the only thing that I hate about ordering from them but I still do it.
If we didn't buy one, they wouldn't be getting any wage.
Short term loss for long term progress
Yea they get paid like 10 grains of rice per hour 👍
This is the first video I've watched from your channel. One thing that struck me was how you say "offered" whenever you place parts into the timepiece. It's like saying time is godly and as a master in your work you're giving it the reverence and respect it deserves. Bravo! 👏
Haha thanks very much 👍🏻 thanks for watching also
me too lol it just adds more magic
I've got one of these and absolutely love it. Scratches that Tourbillon itch on a peasants budget. One of the few watches I would buy again when it dies. Mine been running fine for 3 years now. For £50 you can't go wrong.
Cheers for sharing 👍🏽
I frigging love this series. Such a great idea. Super fresh indeed. Thanks for doing it
Welcome 👍🏻👍🏻
My Lesbian neighbors asked me what I wanted for my Birthday. They gave me a Rolex. I think they misunderstood when I said "I wanna watch."
lol
😂
Jokes
Yeah, I figured someone was bound to get triggered..🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 genius
I admire your Talents. I am a very old patagonian wath collector since the 50's and collaborated with many watchmakers. Almost all are dead or well into their 90's. I' wish you live in Argentina. Almost nobody is a watchmaker here anymore. Cheers from Patagonia Argentina.
Many thanks for watching and of course enjoying watches :)
@@HorologyBiology it is an honour ho our.
It is now a $400 watch. Great work. Apparently some Swiss watch makers put their watches together, then take them apart, clean the parts and put them together again before the watches are sold.
Very true regarding the movements. Thanks for watching 👍🏽
For years I have been teasing my wife about her OCD. Now everyone to some extent can be a little OCD but my wife takes it to a entire new level especially with how the dishwasher is stacked, the cleanliness of the downstairs floor tiling and of course the cleanliness of our ensuite and guest powder room.
After watching you service this Ailang watch I could see that you too are quite OCD and as a result I now understand why you must have this gift. I watched you be very precise with your layout of tools, a centimetre here and a millimetre there until everything was in its place. Working through a microscope makes this a requirement let alone the size and delicateness of all these immensely tiny watch components. Well done and appreciated.
Thanks very much and cheers for the support 👍🏻
Twas only an AliExpress watch
Built with a bit of a botch
But stripped to the metal
And with your careful fettle
It's still a bit of a hotchpotch
Actually I quite like it !
Good video, thank you, and I've subscribed.
😅👏🏻 well done
Solid results for a $47 watch! I’ve really been enjoying these new watch service videos. It’s nice to see what a great service can do.
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching
I have to say that’s one pretty watch, regardless of how much it costs 👌.
This makes me think that the name brand watch makers are making a BIG profit margin.
The quality really isn’t comparable to be fair
@@HorologyBiology The only thing I know about this is from watching these Super Fresh vids. I take your word for it! FYI, I love listening to the way you speak. If you get a chance, do another vid where you analyze some really bad restoration "fakes" etc. Your commentary was so funny, I had to play it for my wife.
You did a great job on the watch. The numbers on the timegrapher look really good. Thanks for the video
Thanks Darryll 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks good for $50 imo
$47.00 ... $4 7 . 0 0 ... Really ?!
If you needed proof of time travel to the past , there you have it !
All that and double balances and mainsprings ... and on top of that Matt , you get it to COSC spec !!!
Any day now the Swiss and Germans are going to put out the Going Out of Business signs . 😉
Thanks for your labor, time and commentary Matt. Great work 👍🍻
COSC spec lol come on butter me some more hehe
It was more like SFSN spec
your workmanship and diligence 💯
+respect
Thank you
It's my first visit to a horological video and I'm completely amazed. Thanks so much
Glad you enjoyed it!
I now do wonder if the vibrational coupling between the two running trains will indeed increase the accuracy of this watch.
The fact that less energy is needed to drive either side, combined with the fact that the two mechanical oscillators are sharing the calibre body which would likely lead to the two eventually synchronising has the potential of making this guy quite accurate.
Chinese watchmaking is quite fun. It is cheap, and thus attainable for most, which I think is great. All the parts may not have the finesse of a Swiss or Japanese watch, but still acceptable in quality.
Nice to see this one dissected 😊
You are more than likely correct as the second side would use nowhere near as much energy (or delayed friction) as the hour and minute train
Very interesting that they're able to do all this in the budget that they have. Impressive
Agreed, thanks for watching
That was really quite fascinating.
Having seen these double escapement watches on AliExpress and eBay I thought that maybe the second balance wheel
was bogus and was probably driven, rather than driving anything.
I was scratching my head as to how it could be regulated on the Timegrapher. Your method really did surprise me.
To have one power reserve derived from 2 mainsprings, supplying energy to two balance wheels, one for the hours and mins
while the other is for the seconds seems like a massively pointless over complication and probably one that will never catch on
other than being a novelty for those of us in the know.
Thanks for watching. It really is a gimmick but at least it genuinely is powered.
Only just discovered your channel, what a great find, really made my day! That's a surprisingly complicated movement, I'm kind of stunned that it actually has two barrels for that price! I'd never taken these seriously, as I always assumed the movement would be full of crappy parts and plastic bits. I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually better than I'd expected, and the huge difference a proper service made to the accuracy, nice job. What an genuinely fascinating video, I thoroughly enjoyed learning about these AE double balance wheel watches, thanks!
Thank you very much ☺️
I have a similar Ailang watch, thing has been running for over three years now. I love the design with the double balance wheels.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm just starting to get into watch repair and ur videos have been helping a lot.
Glad I could help 👍🏽
Mat this was a very interesting video and I truly enjoyed watching it. I learned a lot (as usual) and your explanations were clear and concise. Thank you so much for taking us through this restoration.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That"s pretty "Super Fresh" for $48. I'd consider it for that, but I still love the older vintage watches better myself! Thanks for the channel. I've been dabbling in watch repair myself, so your channel is invaluable!
Thanks for supporting 👍🏻👍🏻
I Enjoy the content very much as I am fascinated with the workings of time pieces for some odd reason. Especially enjoy the artistry of it all! Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much!
Super Super Fresh Fresh. Double the enjoyment. Extremely entertaining these 'new' watch services.
Thanks Ross 👍🏻👍🏻
Barrel bridge... from China with love, at 5:58 (see that heart shaped barrel? how sweet is that?!)
🥲 Thanks for watching
Watch Speaking: Oooh, those hands so gentle. That bath and oil so refreshing.. And that Tounge!!! . If I never go back to China, I'm good!
😂😂😂 Cheers for watching
Love the unexpected complications of this movement. I was trying to work out how it worked with 2 complete balances. Your work and explanation clarified all. Thank you. I’m inspired to work on my practice movements now :)
Go for it! And thanks for watching
Thanks for the educational videos! I love seeing how these watches work.
Glad you like them!
I've become addicted to watching your videos! Kinda makes me wanna try a bit of watch repairs on cheap ebay watches.
You should! but practise on some of these cheaper Aliexpress watches because you 100% know they run to start with. If you buy some vintage pieces from ebay you are taking a game as you are not sure what is wrong with them to start with 👍🏽
@HorologyBiology I'll definitely do that! I found that I'm able to get them fairly cheap on dh gate and even Amazon. Luckily for me and not others, a lot of people believe in trashing a nice piece that I'll definitely be picking up any chance I get so that once I'm good enough, I'll fix them up for my collection!
That is a beautiful watch with dual balances. wow thanks for the lesson!
My pleasure!
I'm amazed that a nice-looking watch like this one can go for under $50.00!
Thanks for watching
This was wild! By far my new fav watch video. It's amazing how you were able to regulate so close to 0. Great video my man.
Glad you enjoyed it!
this guy deserves more viewers love his videos
Many thanks
Love the way how you explained everything
Glad you liked it!
Haven't worn a watch in over 30 years. Watched this video, got the white dial and stainless, and have been loving it. A chronometer it ain't, it's big and heavy, and it had some machining scuffs on the bracelet. But for the price it's a great experience. Got my like and subscribe. Thanks!
Great to hear!
I have a Roamer from 1960. My grandfather got it as a 50th birthday gift from his coworkers. He passed away in 1963 and the watch circled with my uncles until it ended up with my dad about 15 years ago. He gave it to me in 2011. I had it serviced and got a new leather strap for it. It works beautifully. Still has the original box and warranty papers as well.
Thanks for sharing. Roamer was a very underrated brand for sure.
Thanks Matt, seeing what can be done with a cheap movement is very interesting to me
Cheers Tom
Two hearts that beat as one (hopefully).
😂
I guessed that one drove the minute hand and the other the hour. Close but no cigar. 😁
Haha you were nearly there
Always fun watching your videos, thanks man
Glad you like them!
I love your work and appreciate your narrative.
Thank you kindly!
Wow who is putting these together! Thanks for this showcase
You’re welcome
Exciting stuff! Thank you again.
Looks like amazing value for little money. Good video. Thanks for sharing. John
Thanks for watching!
Great video and commentary camera work spot on it shows you enjoy your work. Amazing they can make this so cheap and the results you got were amazing
Thank you very much!
Wonderful work as always, I actually quite liked that watch, looked a tad thick but actually nice to see two hair spings going like the clappers :D
Cheers Trevor 👍🏽👍🏽
I've purchased several automatic watches from AE: Lige, Curren, Naviforce. Never saw this brand until I came across this video. New sub for the great content.
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching
Very much enjoy your videos about Horology
Glad you like them!
nice watch, thanks for showing us the magic behind the dial 😊
My pleasure 😊
Oh come on even Bob could service this fine timepiece. Nice work Matt
😅 cheers Bruce
I think this is a nice looking watch and has a unique design .
Thanks for watching 👍🏽
This is actually pretty cool. I don't really understand two escapements if they aren't tandemed together, but it's fascinating and looks cool. Nice work improving a cheap art piece into something timekeeping worthy!
Thanks for watching 👍🏽 They actually do have their own trains so work independently, even though the dual balances is a bit of a gimmick.
Great fresh video. I enjoy the way you talk also.
I appreciate that!
Pretty advanced watch for an ali watch
Thanks for watching
nice work!!! i love watches do, since the first time i spoted one back when i was 2 yeards old.. now aout to hit the big 4.0.... it was just love at the first sight, forever and ever and ever and ever!!! keep up the good work and these vids coming!!! thank you my MAn!!!
Thanks very much 👍🏽
That Ailang Double Balance is the Bee's Knees. If the finishing had been a little sharper, it might rival some of the latet out of Geneve. Remember, a Chinese Company took all the money at thelast awards period in Switzeland with that World Watch. I forget what they call it, but it is really unique.
Dave Lowa
Thanks for watching Dave 👍🏽
Man this is something I really want to learn how to do one day. My lady got me a diy watch build kir as a birthday gift a couple of years ago, and I loved assembling it!
Thats great to hear. You could take it up as a hobby for sure
A fascinating movement. Someone in their R&D went out and bought an AP to reverse engineer then.... It did grow on me too by the end of the video. 👍
Thanks for sharing! haha I kind of had the same thing.. it grew on me a little.
The prize watch is fantastic, thank you for the chance of owing such a nice watch 👍
Welcome 👍🏽
Im a Swiss Machinist, what a great channel.. definitely liked and subscribed.. im learning a lot to teach myself watch repair.
Awesome, thank you! You certainly live in the best country in the world when it comes to watches (nice scenery too).
You're Welcome, I really like your explanation of what youre using when you assemble. Very nice touch, I'm glad. This was my first video.
My favorite part of the hole watch is the purple jewels. They look really different. Thanks for taking us along 👍.
Thanks for watching!
Great video, as always. I found this one to be really entertaining because of the unusual watch that was featured. You know, it’s amazing that they can produce something so small and complicated for such a low price. But always remember, you get what you pay for. Thanks for doing this one. I lived it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@HorologyBiologyenjoyed it?? he LIVED it apparently !!
Your videos are fantastic, your comments are even more fantastic, you're a really cool guy.
Continue with that personality. And I need a decent watch but I don't have the money to buy it...
Many thanks for that 👍🏻👍🏻
Guys,If Richard Millie deserve deserve millions then don't they deserve 47 for making this😮
Thanks for watching
Just liked and subscribed!! First time I've come across your channel!
As for the watch.. what an odd system but VERY unique!! Looks like i have another watch to hunt down!!!!
Great channel!!!!
Thanks for stopping by 👍🏽👍🏽
Loved your video. Hope to be even a quarter as good as you some day at servicing watches. 👍👍
Practise makes perfect. Just keep going 👍🏻👍🏻
They must have seen your video, the price went up $5 :)
😂😂😂
Wow! Great work! Bang on time regulation.
Thanks for watching 👍🏻👍🏻
Hum dingiddy do im glad i found your channel. Been into watches for a bit but only once i hit 30 could i start to afford to buy some. Love seeing how they work!
Welcome aboard!
Such great work! Very cool content!
Thanks very much 👍🏽
I have an old watch kit... I wonder if I could do this. Ive owned quite a few aliexpress watches... they never last long but this looks like it makes them worthwhile!
I would say go for it if you would like to take it up as a hobby 👍🏻
Double the pleasure double the fun.
😅 thanks for watching
The algorithm brought me to you. Fascinating reassembly thanks. Under your American accent you sound Mancunian to me
Thanks for watching
A job well done. Cheers!
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful watch, great content
Thank you kindly
So far to date you've covered all but one of these Chinese movements i have and this one which needs a balance spring ( yes i mangled it ,a Guanqin from 6 yrs ago) but it runs extremely well & accurate . Really impressed you taking the time to do such movements + the coincidence of having them is a bonus , superb work as well i might add Sir .
I have your wife on speed dial...
That struggle to pick up that tiny screw is what I can relate to. 😂
Haha max pain
Double everthing but not the price! Amazing construction.
Thanks for watching
I just subscribed would love to see a vintage Timex mechanical service.
Maybe in the future
Wow you've got a talent I don't know how do you know where to put all those gears and screws😮 love it
Just practise, nothing more 👍🏻👍🏻
Unbelievable, AliExpress keep getting better and better for such low prices
Thanks for watching 👍🏽👍🏽
enjoyed that. many thanks
Very welcome
This is fascinating. Cheers
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
That is a cool looking watch. Can believe it came from there an works
Thanks for watching
I love these cheaper watch videos
Thanks for watching 👍🏻 I do like to balance the channel out from one end of the financial watch market to the much higher end on my videos.
Zero watch snobbery here
@@HorologyBiology all the videos are super fresh 😍 👌
difficult to believe that you can buy all this technology plus the time in making and assembling & marketing for such a small amount of money
It is surprising
Makes you think how much BS there is in other watch maker pricing
Some yes but certainly not all 👍🏻
If Rolex and other brands didn’t charge so much, how would their CEO’s buy private jets?😂
Interesting watch, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for a wonderful video
Welcome 👍🏽
Mechanical watches intrigue me. Started my interest in watches.
Welcome aboard. Might hurt the wallet. a little in the long run lol
Same here! Been about a year into it!
For a cheap watch from a unknown micro brand, where did they get this strange movement? A movement like this needs alot of money to develop, even it is cheaply made from cheap metal.
Cheers for watching
Amazing video man
Appreciate that fella 👍🏽
