Perfect with him in the band
Flea is the glue; John is the talent; Anthony is the fool; and Chad is the smart one.
God I love John Frusciante. He’s like the glue that sticks this band together perfectly.
He truly is. He’s the band’s soul.
Simmmm eu penso exatamente a mesma coisa 😍😍😍
que tal final!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Flea is the glue

THIS IS SO FUCKING SICK TO SEE THEM PLAY AFTER SO MANY YEARS WITH JOHN!!!
Love Josh but nothing feels like an original line-up. Frusciante is RHCP for life.

30 years later and playing this in the original key.....absolutely awesome. They killed this.
the band is; not clear what key anthony is singing in.
@@andykrygier8006 HAHAHA! I was thinking the same thing. He's either phoning it in, not entirely sober, or just doesn't have the voice of his youth.
Even tho he got out of tune many times throughout the song.
I'm shocked there is so much equipment in that studio. I hope they didn't drag it all in for just that song. But, I'll give them credit if they did.
@@andykrygier8006 really? his pitch is fine for the verses, but for the choruses i'd say his pitch is fantastic
When that bass kicks in...Flea is amazing, love to watch him play.
He was waiting on his moment and killed it
This song is child's play for him! I used to play it in college as a beginning bass player.
Ooow flea🤟🏾
His bass is extra crunchy.
I always think I heard this song enough till I hear it again, great tune.

Damn the boys still sounds sharp as ever. Having John back makes all the difference. So much soul.
Truly great reply :)
indubitably
Imagine, having a private freaking concert from almost every great act since the 80s perform for you. Stern has had everyone play at least something for him on air. Incredible.
Stern's audio team is superb, every band sounds so good
One of those rare songs that I can feel deeply into my soul. A masterpiece for sure.
I can't believe these four people are playing music together again. John is the coolest person wearing normal clothes lol.
And Flea is wearing clothes.
Cause he’s Italian
Flea is coolest mofo around. Don't discredit him.
Jeez, I can tell you these four are a family already. ( until the end )
The best song about alienation ever written! Anthony is God!
Howard Stern has the best audio crew hands down, no matter the artist the songs just pop!
True, Metallica sounds impressive
yup even Machine Gun Kelly!

It’s only the best. I was a tech producer and this has got to be some quality people and equipment.

A guitar "GOD", a bass "GOD", a drum "GOD", and a vocal "GOD".
I guess we can all be very happy to witness this FREAKING AMAZING band.
Well done John's backing vocals were uploaded this time.
Howard is an absolute perfectionist i'm sure someone got yelled at for that one.
Quite low, though!
Thank god!
Should have been a falsetto?
@@lukecoolhand3243 I think they've used some sort of pitch correction to match John's vocal to Anthony's, I think AK has some kind of mild auto tune keeping him in key
"Under the Bridge" is absolutely brilliant; a masterpiece. As a guitar teacher, I love teaching it.
As I fellow guitar teacher I agree, unfortunately most kids don’t even know this song anymore
First song I learned that transitioned me from beginner to intermediate. Really opens up the whole neck. Every guitarist should learn it
@@Markstun all the more reason to teach it…hopefully one of them will make it go viral and kids will wake up to something new

And as a student I love playing it
Really love Frusciante's playing, very "Hendrix-y" yet still uniquely his own.
Finally seeing them in February and I am beyond excited. They are one of those bands that have a million hits and a million great songs. My favourite band of all time.
I'm assuming for one of the aussie shows. Can't wait either!

Not only am I happy to see/hear John back in the band...but can we discuss how healthy he looks too? Seriously, I haven't seen him this healthy since he first joined the band back in 1988. He also looks way more focused. MAD respect to him.
Older & wiser
He's been very healthy since 1999 actually.
he should hit the gym with boys though, bandmates look unreal for their age
Loved this. To me it was the ultimate healthy answer to the SNL Under the Bridge.
Definately nice to see him looking healthy
Man, I can't believe how much magic lies in THOSE 4 guys. They sound killer together, to this day, This is a perfect example of what happens when chemistry is perfectly matched in music. Wow.
This performance is dirty, natural, simple, normal. And this is why we love it. A true live.

90's flashback, one of the best songs ever made.
They're almost 60 and they got the same energy that they had the time that song was released. Their new record was awesome, long life to RHCP.
They’re older now than when The Rolling Stones we’re touring in the 90’s and I remember thinking they had really slowed down at that point. RHCP are still playing with the same amount of energy they had when BSSM came out.

And they all look fantastic.
They are so unpretentious, I love that they are just about the music and they have the same musical spark as when theywere in their 20's.
I think they're really one of the less pretentious rock n roll bands and that's what makes them great.

He is the reason I love this band. He has some absolutely killer solo stuff too. Shadows Collide with People is such a good album.
Best rhythm section in the business 🔥🙌🏼🙌🏼
I don't think I've ever seen a performance by the RHCP that wasn't a 10/10. These guys are ridiculously talented.
You're hearing the result of an undeniably close bond among best friends that grew even stronger over the decades. The charisma among the four of them just flows effortlessly.
The chili peppers are pure California funk!
Wasn’t a ten but it was great
Exception is the dreaded 1992 performance.
Takes me back to my youth, driving around with my best buds, all of us singing along having the time of our lives. Thank you for that 👍
I couldn't of said it better myself. I was 19 when this song came out. Exact same thing with all my friends. This song brings back so many memories from that time 👍
Same. My buds and I would drive all around town jamming to RHCP, chainsmoking cigarettes at 15 thinking we were hot shit. Haha good times

Anthony is one of those singers who can sing off key as much as he wants and it doesn’t matter! Anthony started rusty but in the chorus he killed it. Great performance of the 4.

They always start out rusty at the beginning of a tour
The triumphant return of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers is a breath of youthful freshness in our souls, which takes us back to the glorious '80s and '90s. And that brings tears to my eyes. It's great that the RHCP has returned in full force.
If only we could go back to that time…

@meu8 and well-deserved too. I felt the song the moment he really came in. Flea and Anthony are RHCP - that band cannot be the same without either of them. No disrespect to the other band members though!
Oh man, that’s good. Love how light, almost vulnerable Kiedis sounds in the beginning, but really grows in strength into the song, as they all do. The outtro with Flea and John is also hauntingly beautiful here. Beautiful.
The great thing about this performance is it not only shows what a great drummer Will Ferrell is, it shows he doesn't age!!!!!!!! 🙃

I love that John starts the song at a slower tempo and then when Chad joins he starts in at a faster BPM in classic drummer fashion and John just smirks. I love their band quirks so much
Anthony slowed it down
I just love how even a pro band can mess up their tempo when they start in free time...even on a song they've played hundreds of times. It happens to everyone! At least they obviously aren't using a click.

"Damm thats good" is so understated. This was AWESOME.
I simply love that jam at the end between John and Flea for two reasons: 1. They're finally playing together again and 2. Flea has studied music theory in the meantime and now sounds even better with John, who is a music theory geek himself. We got our boys back, and they've undergone an upgrade.
No idea what you are saying. That "jam" is on the original record.
Music theory is a myth
@@ashwinmenon7636 that's true, but his reasons might still be true.. it is not a jam and anymore than on the record, so in this case, they prob. just relistened their own material, playing it more to spec than ever lol... I do think so far that their new stuff has some kind of advanced melodic/harmonic features to it, but that doesn'T mean automatically that the songs are better in general... still pretty poppy too...
I love that you noted Flea studying music theory. I remember reading the article about him going to Berklee
lol Chad's failed stick flip but drummers are so articulate and smooth about that sorta thing. they never lose beat and just laugh it off. love it
