Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the drummer ( Dave Abruzzese)? He is absolutely killing it here!
He will be always THE drummer for PJ. I appreciate Matt Cameron but I'll always have the feeling he's just not enough for PJ's style.
@@DiegoFarre4 couldn’t agree with you more, I love Daves drumming
Agreed...he is among my favorite Rock drummers all time!
@@DiegoFarre4 Yes!!!
@@DiegoFarre4 to my shame, I only really know Pearl Jam’s first album, as nothing I’ve heard by them after that album hit me as hard. I feel I definitely need to give their other albums a second listen! Recommendations would be greatly appreciated, particularly if Dave Abruzzese is on the album (I’m a drummer, and this guy is unreal).
That's the most beautiful person in this world,my opinion counts,I'm 67 years old,oh lord hes nice
God, he was beautiful! He has aged well but these videos from the 90’s remind me how beautiful he was to look at. Also, how amazing it was to listen to that voice!❤
Simply, 😊 The drummer is amazing
Eddie was suffering, struggling against himself to stay seated in that chair. xD

You got it bro! He wants to jump.
Eddie and his monster voice , the variance in tone .. 1992 I was 17 years old . Pearl Jam was so different and unique at that era . I am 46 now and still getting goose bumps listening to his songs. one of the Greatest band ever .....
Totally agree. Love them since 1991 too when I was 18 💜💜
Same age bro 👍🏽
100 % agree, I still get chills listening to them in 2021, and I was in high school listening in the 90's too.......
Was 22 when I heard this in '92. Now at 51 I still can't get enough of this song. CLASSIC!
I'm 59 and they still give me goosebumps
How can this only have 22 million views? I have have watched it more than that myself 😂
All the great bands hold up through time. Pearl Jam is exactly that. A great band.
Eddie's facial expressions while singing are something to die for
The lyrics is based on his story
I remember in 92 his expressions actually scared me a little lol!!!! Now at 45 years old it's one of the sexiest things I've ever seen! Amazing times!!!!
"he can't help when he is happy looks insane"
I'd do it. Like right now.
He is pouring all of his energy, pain, and emotions into the song. Hard thing to do and stay seated.
Dear future children this was a time when real music existed and MTV actually played real music videos
Exactly ❤...alive!!!!
The man could sing jingle bells and make it a badass tune

this is even better than their studio performance. out of this world, wow!
Drummer is at 100 level
Yup, Eddie's facial expressions is part of the whole art of Pearl Jam. They're really rocking, this is what belongs to the realest music 'vrybody.
His facial expressions when he sings are mesmerizing. Takes the song to a whole new level
yesss. Makes me dim the lights so he can't see me. LOL :)
The life inside this song love this song
I love his expressions
Not just Singing the song he’s living it. Rock on.
The faces are a lil to much. Layne Staley and Chris Cornell never made faces and their voices were grunge s best
If music were this raw, passionate, and honest today then I'd be at concerts weekly.
AgileMJOLNIR if music was this made like this the knowledge that would have been accumilated by now would have metamorphed the general population into some higher beings.....

Love this band, no matter what...!!!!
This is one of those rare moments in history where the live performance surpasses the album.
Agree, in my opinion too much over driven guitar ruined the studio recording: it's muddy. But this sounds amazing.
One of the best Live bands EVER
Ya except that was true for almost all of the unplugged series.
In my early 20s, living in the Haight in San Francisco when this unplugged aired. In the heart of an incredible musical renaissance.
My life has been rough but it's also been magical
Those of you that are young, hold your youth in a strangle hold and never let go.

How he can be underrated when he is part of Pearl Jam

100% underrated.
What is his name?

Josh Houston that was a good one! 😂
Omg stop😂
Josh Houston and cheekbones 👍
ok
Badumm Tzzz! :D
Greatest voice in rock.
What i find fascinating is the difference in energy at these unplugged performances. Alice In Chains was so somber, Nirvana seemed like it had this tension ready to burst as Kurt just kept so chill between songs, Pearl Jam here just so electric and inviting - incredible how amazing these unplugged performances are. They should really bring the format back, love to see Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys, just various bands using nothing more than acoustics and a drumset and killer vocals.
They did some years ago with BTS and Shawn Mendes but yes i want MTV unplugged back i would die for a maneskin MTV unplugged
@@girlboss3426 You all are the damn best. I'm honored to have the kind of support that you show me, thank you. How are you doing it is nice meeting you here btw
@@Eddievedder3156 We gonna need some proof thats you Eddie...
Arctic monkeys have a great performance in live at BBC, you should see it
I mean, NPR tiny desk kind does that to some more indie bands and pop-culture ones, tho. I find these bands that goes full unplugged sometimes really amazing, they surely know their craft for music, it's awesome. But yeah, I miss MTV Unplugged as well, lol.
He's basically a singing lion
Lyrics:
Son, she said
Have I got a little story for you
What you thought was your daddy
Was nothin' but a...
While you were sittin' home alone at age thirteen
Your real daddy was dyin'
Sorry you didn't see him
But I'm glad that we talked
Oh I, o-oh I'm still alive
Hey, hey I, o-oh I'm still alive
Hey I, o-oh I'm still alive
Hey, oh
While she walks slowly
Across a young man's room
She said, "I'm ready for you"
I can't remember anything
To this very day
'Cept the look, the look
Oh, you know where
Now I can't see, I just stare
I, I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, I, o-oh I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, I, o-oh I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, I, o-oh I'm still alive, yeah
"Is something wrong?", she said
Of course there is
"You're still alive", she said
Oh, do I deserve to be?
Is that the question?
And if so, if so
Who answers, who answers?
I, o-oh I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, I, o-oh I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, I, o-oh I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, I, mmh I'm still alive
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Wow aha, yeah aha
Ooh wow, come on!
Yeah, aha
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
Thanks

Damnnnn..
Eddie is brilliant here, but the strumming and drumming is pure magic.
So much World shite” going on- we can still find music that really counts and connects to people. There is a special joy in Pearl Jam’s music. And certain relatable/powerful emotional connections.
Thank u
Laura from Baltimore Maryland
His growls are so amazing but when he sings softly is so beautiful
You all are the damn best. I'm honored to have the kind of support that you show me, thank you. How are you doing it is nice meeting you here btw
Grrr 🐻
Why grunge singers always sing better than other artists genres. Look How amazing are Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain and Chris Cornell, they sound amazing live
And we hope Eddie sticks around for a long, long while...
You forgot Layne Staley, the Big 4 of Grunge.
Poppa Sweets lmao stfu he was the best of the lot.
oh! so.. Freddie Mercury sang grunge too? :P
Heaps of musicians are great vocally live.
The 90s was a great time for music globally...music was true, honest and sincere ... music was created not manufactured... 💞👌😊👍
Is it Vedder’s voice, McCreay et al shredding, the magnificent drumming? It is all of it. They are perfect together and individually.
Eddie sings with such passion, emotion, with heart..
he dose
true, destaco mucho cuando los cantantes tienen ese graan condimento es importantisimo, es asi como se tiene que sentir la musica naturalmente.. verdaderamente me encanta y fascina cuando los musicos tienen eso
In multiple interviews Eddie says he is very shy and has butterflies the whole performance!!
its amazing that eddie sounds the same as on the album...wow...
They are better in Concert ,,, if get a chance see them
Can confirm
He sound better than the album
That's true of all good singers. People just think it's "amazing" now because they're too used to auto-tuned voices
Shit, alotta the time I feel like they tone Eddie's Voice down on the album's. Pretty much every live version I have seen Eddie is better than the Album.
Thank God PJ exists.
If there is a such thing as a perfect set, this was it.
Amazing breath control. A very difficult song vocally to sing, especially live. He makes it look so easy, you might not notice just how difficult it really is.
Mmmmh...i know it well! Much breath expecially. But i think many Eddie's songs are difficult to sing..he has a very good control about tones and breath.
The guitar solo is still insane even in acoustic
Memories of listening to this on repeat and playing Doom.
The Guitar solo is perfect. Full of emotions and melodies. Great Band Pearl Jam.
Applause to the drummer he is killing it
They all did.. creative geniuses at work here!

Eddie Vedder.....absolute Legend xxxx
The Gorgeous voice voice and face. 😻🥰😍♥️♥️
It's literally taking all of Eddies willpower to not get up and climb around
Yeah man... He's so much into the zone..
However Eddie could not resist smashing the cymbal with the mic stand at 5:35 😂
Funny, at music hall of fame, he said the music makes him able to hold his entire body up on a ledge by one finger..it comes from his head thru his body and out his hands❤️

Apparently Dave Abbruzzese is a virtuoso on the drums. Magical isn't he.
Thiago Coutinho Dave was their greatest drummer, and it’s robbery that he wasn’t inducted with them.

"Alive" is the name of the song off there debut album Ten! They were so popular they was asked to do MTVs Unplugged After One Album... I grew up loving Pearl Jam so I watched this when I was about 7 or 8 lol.
Jesus, Pearl Jam live in their prime must have been one of the best experiences in the world. Look at all that talent, you just don't get this level of performance from artists anymore.
They're just as good, if not better today. Don't believe me? Check it out. Like a fine wine and the fire is still roaring🔥

or the other and creating factions where there were none.
