Dynojet Power Vision Autotune - How do I make my

  • I just got a ‪@DynojetResearch‬ Power Vision the other day and installed it on my ‪@harleydavidson‬ 2021 Ultra Limited Street Glide (that's what I call it) and put a base map in the bike. I saw immediate improvement for sure, and the bike was much happier, and I swear even a smoother ride at highway speeds. Today we take the bike out, put it in autotune and let it gather data about it's air/fuel mixture and decide what is just right at every RPM point and Throttle Position Sensor... position. Then we'll bring it back and apply those values to make it just right for my exact setup. This was way easier than I thought and I feel like the bike is now ready to ride for a while till we go into the stage 2 plans I have for it next. If you're interested in a Power Vision for your bike, please do use my link if you don't mind. You'll go right to the page where you will pick your bike from the dropdown menu. The link tells Dynojet that people do in fact listen to us online and that you actually care what we think. THANKS!

      No joke, I got one from dynojet (love the company, great customer service) but the bike started funny, ran weird, and wouldn't idle correctly. Got a map from fuel moto and the bike screamed right off the bat. It even vibrated less than the tune I had on there from a dynotuner. Overall the bike just runs better with the canned map from them. Just installed my target tune and will be autotuning from their map. Can't wait.

    I bought my Power Vison from Fuel Moto which comes with maps for life which is great, every time I change something on the bike like a stage 2 upgrade they send me a new base map for it. I usually do two or three autotune runs on the base map which does help a lot. My first base map after adding a RS468 cam had me running a little lean, a couple Auto Tune sessions straightened that out and bike has run great since. I could not recommend it more, especially if you buy from Fuel Moto there support is great!!

      I just did the same. My 19 electraglide oil sumped on me. So i replaced everything in camchest with a Redshift 468 cam kit from fuelmoto, im running a drag specialties oil pump and a new stock camplate. Had a preloaded tune on powervision from fuelmoto and its been very good noticed a few bobbles and lean conditions it is close wanted to get the target tune kit but will have to settle for a basic autotune for now. Had the fp3 on this and i was going to try it with the 468 cam fp3 is very user friendly just have to flash the cam choice in and autotune,but i had the Powervision ready to go so ill run autotune with it and see what happens. Worst part was trying to set the adjustable push rods with my huge fricken fingers,but i took my sweet ass time and got it done. Loving the cam choice and has an lopey idle and sounds great and rumbly though the magnaflow mufflers.

    It's an absolute fact that when Harley Davidson was developing the M8 engine, experienced riders didn't rate the engine acceptable. Experienced riders didn't like the smoothness of the M8. Harley engineers detuned things and added a little engine shake and and 98% of those same riders loved it. You may be finding that smooth sweet spot.

    With any tuner in auto tune, you definitely need to do 3-5 good auto tune sessions. Took me 4 with my FP3 until I liked what I got. I put a new head pipe on over the winter so I’ll do add that head pipe and do another 2-3 auto tune sessions with it. Great information. Thanks for sharing. 👍

    Hey Brother - great content, subject matter: another excellent video, great presentation and commentary, breaking it down into laymen's terms so that average Joe (with minimal knowledge & understanding the basics of Tuning an EFI Harley) can grasp it. Well done! Like your idea of continuing to do a few more Auto Tune (Data Logging) Sessions, to get the most from the Stage-1 (unique exhaust pipe)now; then add your Stage-2 Cam (retaining stock 12mm wideband O2 sensors), run a few more Auto Tunes; then upgrade to the 18mm O2 sensors and put the Dyno with a Professional Tuner/Programmer dialing it in, completely in. Gets my vote!

    Get yourself the Target Tune set up and bring it to your dyno guy. Us tuners can use that like the autotune but it stays on your bike forever making adjustments with a special Target Tune enabled map. This keeps all the stuff active (acceleration enrichment etc.) That autotune disables while recording. It's a few dollars but well worth it.

    • @Panhead_Andy
      @Panhead_Andy Před 18 dny +1

      @@ADREISTER you can use an autotune with pc5 but it doesn't live update like target tune and powervision. You need a windows computer with the Dynojet software to download the data log from the autotune unit and then apply the changes. More expensive and time consuming than converting to powervision and target tune. Also pc5 is a piggyback unit which is very outdated.

    I've had a power vision since 2010... it's awesome and so is their customer support... one cool little trick it can change the throttle blade position compared to throttle position for throttle by wire... in other words you won't have to grab a handful to be wide open....

    • @whatyoumakeofit6635
      @whatyoumakeofit6635 Před 2 lety

  • @Snoopbikerdog
    @Snoopbikerdog Před měsícem

    One important thing to remember about auto tune, auto tune can only correct up to a certain percentage of a particular cell (one of those little colored blocks on the screen) during a particular session. So… if a particular cell is out of perfect say 25% the auto tune session will correct it and make it 10% better. That means you still have 15% more before it perfect. Therefore you can see that you will have to do 2 more auto tune sessions before you can perfect that particular cell. In order to do that you must export learned values, load the new map and begin auto tune again. You can just keep overwriting that slot but do it at least 3 times. Just never overwrite the map that was sent to you from power vision or fuel moto.

Because of how much better and more refined the tuner can get with them😊 I'd suggest anyone who's gonna go further with their bike( buying a tuner for future upgrades) to get O2 sensors😊🤘 im honestly suprised that most tuner manufacturers don't offer upgraded O2 sensors when purchasing their tuner just to make it simple for the buyer😊

I've was getting a right fan code popping up. Had Dyno jet help a few times but could never get the bike form that code showing up. End up having HD pin every wire and test the fans and no issue. Pulled all the parts and tune off and went back to stock and the issue went away. I was thing of taking another shoot at having the parts and tune put back on and taking it to a pro-tuner to see if I could get the code thing form showing up, The bike really did run a lot better with the tune and parts. I have an FP3 and have been hearing how terrible it is compared to powervision and blah blah blah. For someone like me I’m seriously considering changing but I also don’t have money growing on a tree in the backyard. so I’m really curious if the switch would be worth the money. I wish I could do that, but the cost would be preventative. I do like the FP3 for its simplicity, but now having a Power Vision 3 I can see how it's better. The PV3 just does a better job of reading and tweaking the air/fuel mixture. My 21 rides so much better than the Harley tuner, and I am confident the PV3 is better than the FP3 now. I was getting all kinds of codes and weird stuff. Even felt like at one point one of the cylinders shut off when I was on the freeway lol. Like I said, I'm sure it's gotten better. Just sharing, what I think, is a funny experience. It's actually what led me to get a powervision instead. I've had it since 2014 and in a box until just recently when I went to a 124 motor and larger injectors. Snatched up the target tune this time as well too. Getting ready for my first autotune run after work today. BTW if you do get a powervision, get it from fuel moto. I hit them up when I put this new motor in and they were able to find my purchase from 2014 and hooked me up with a base map and some tech advice for my new motor. They are a top notch company for sure.

  • @ihatesjws1188
    @ihatesjws1188 Před 2 lety +2

    Few things, power vision basic only adjust the VE tables of your tune, it will not adjust the AFR table of your tune. AFR has to be manually changed on your computer. Powervision will not Autotune spark tables, that also has to be adjust manually. Newer model tunes should have the option to Autotune based off KPA or MAP tables instead of TPS table. It's a better way of tuning but it must be active in your tune and adjusted on your computer to tune that way. Anything outside of closed loop will not be adjusted by Autotune basic. So your leaving out the high rpm and open throttle areas unadjusted. Autotune basic will only adjust cruise area. Welcome to the rabbit hole.

      @@kawasaki9167 so disclaimer, I'm not a mechanic, take my advice at your own risk. Without actually seeing you bike I can only speculate based on common symptoms I have seen.
      1. You are not riding in the Powerband where the motor makes power causing a false sense of lag, when in reality you are expecting to much from your 6th gear.
      2. Your tune is out of wack in the wide open throttle, which powervision basic will not address. You would need Autotune pro or the target tune to correct the VE tables in that range then manually change the afr to what works best in that range. Or go to a Thundermax system that will incorporate it all in one.
      3. You are experiencing throttle lag from the throttle table not being set at 100 percent. Since harley went to throttle by wire they incorporated a lag, meaning the throttle input (your twist) will open at a certain percentage of the speed imputed. It can be adjusted to aggressive or to lag depending on your liking but it has to be emailed to dynojet so they can make the adjustments then they send it back. They used to let people make that correction at home but took it away. Don't know why.
      I know it's long but those are my two cents. Could be one of the three or a combination of them all. Again with out actually see your bike these are best guesses.
