Bro!!!! I just installed the power vision on my 2015 road glide and wow. And damn!!!!! Night and day. I got a custom tune, plus I did some auto tunes and fuck me…. Best 600 clams I ever spent. My bike is so so smooth, and responsive, and the torque and throttle response…. Holy shit…. Kickin tires and lighten fires!!!! If you ain’t first your last!!!!! Let’s go baby!!!!

I am so glad you and others are out there. Computers just add so much more headache my tiny brain cannot nor will not keep up with. I do not miss roadside resetting of pushrod sleeves, changing jets for elevation changes and I look forward to adjusting the carb. I add oil to two of my bikes at most fuel stops because Harleys had a weep hole for that.
Thank You Mr. Monkey, I am not offended. I laughed too!
When anyone today bitches about injectors, ignition controls or fuel pressures I laugh. Because I know they don't want to carry a couple sets of needles just to get cross country.
Now I do enjoy my Ladies 06 Goldwing and my Ultra for long distance riding. But I am not in any hurry these days and tuning the bike in a truck stop parking lot is only a pain in the rain.
You all are in my prayers
    Hoka Hey

Smell of the exhaust isn't weird at all. That is supposed to happen. Good observation. The vibration thing also makes sense since a tuner should sync the amount of fuel needed with speed and power.

Used a power vision 3 on a metric twin with air cleaner and slip-on; the results can be felt immediately. Backed up by dyno pulls which showed the bike gained back parasitic loss between crank HP rating and the rear wheel actual. Very impressive results which just about anyone can do at home. I'm sold on the PV3.

Many people don’t think a good tuner isn’t necessary unless your doing a full build on the motor but they make a big difference in performance even with just pipes & intake. I have over 80k miles on my ThunderMax and it makes a huge impact. While stoke my bike was done at around 105 and after ThunderMax it’s still pulling at 115. “2011 Ultra Limited “

When I did the stage 2 on my 107 with the S&S 475 cam my Indy installed a FP3. In my opinion the bike never ran properly even though the Indy I used had V&H send out a few different Maps to try and improve it. I contacted V&H and asked if anyone dyno tuned within 7 or 800 miles with there system and they came up empty. Long story short is I took the bike to a tuner who just sold me a dynojet license and had it professionally tuned. It made my Road King a totally different bike. So as the Monkey says the FP3 is a great tuner for stock or stage 1 otherwise get a real tuner.

Was just horrible would stall at lights when taking off. Finally managed to get the power vision tuner and had it on the dyno. Running awesome now no more throttle lag. Went from 116 hp and 120 tq to 121 hp and 130 tq with a solid gain across the whole graph.

Speaking from experience. My last build I needed to re-tune the Dyno Jet. My Power Commander was no longer supported, so I bought new...got a discount so no worries. OK...so...my build is not a plug and play update, so I need a dyno. Turns out the guy who used to tune it bitchen is out of business, and no other guys even remotely close do race tune. I used a guy in Reno. You ever meet one of those guys who, in less than a minute you want to go over the counter at? This was one of those guys.
Turns out the guy didn't want any spec on the build, only did pulls to 4K on the dyno and borked my tune. My cams pull hard from 4K TO 7K. You can guess the rest.
Storel of the Morey...once you get a good tune, don't make big changes until you know you have a good tuner nearby.
Other than that...a computer in the hands of a skilled tuner is a DANGEROUS thing. lol

Ive been running the PV for 9 years now...2013 Breakout, 3 touring bikes, a 17 Breakout Pro Street, and I also have one of my friends bikes in my tuner as well. Love the thing....yeah you dont actually need it at all if you are getting your bike Dyno'd, as DynoJet stores your license in the cloud, so you can go to ANY dyno tuner and they will have the license you purchased the first time...however I love having the unit in hand, as you can clear ANY error codes on any harley it will hook up to (no license needed to read and clear codes). On the tunes themselves, it immediately removes the speed limiter from Harley on the new bikes and it also removes the 10-15 percent throttle limiter in 1st and second gear that Harley throws in there as well. Its a GREAT little box and its been awesome that they built it to where you dont need to buy new hardware....like I said, I have used mine (with the putchase of the new cable) to tune 13's all the way to 2021 Harleys...all on my own tuner. I have 6 bikes tuned on mine and I keep a tune "library" of my own on all my bikes as I have upgraded each bike....the tuner stores 8 tunes at a time, but you can move them around from your computer....the PV can tune a limitless number of bikes as long as you continue to pay 200 bucks for each license and you can have limitless tunes stored on your PC...

Big big fan of dyno jet. When I put my 83 yamaha seca 750, into an 82 650 yics seca and had to use the 650 carbs, they helped me get the right jets to compensate. I had European needles and jets and got rid of the xj650 flat spot.

Power Vision is the way to go. I threw out the Power Commander 3 that came with my V-Rod and installed the Power Vision with Auto Tune module that comes with Wide Band O2 sensors. It was a total game changer. You're not crazy, it DOES make the bike run smoother! Once I did a bore, cams etc. it only took a couple AutoTune runs to tune it to the new setup and it's running awesome now.

I bought a Power Vision license for my '14 Road king from my independent shop so that they could tune the bike on a Dyno. This works good for me because I am not going to go in and play with the tune myself. I can carry the repair invoice that has the license number around with me next to the registration and if I am out of state and the bike for some unknown reason needs to be tuned again the tech just input's the Power Vision license number and he/she can tune away or I believe they can even load the last tune that my bike personally had. This saved me a few hundred dollars over buying the Tuner and accomplishes the same purpose. it's a great deal from Power Vision for customers like me who don't intend to go in there and mess up a technicians tune so to speak.
I have a TTS tuner in my '17 RGS with a stage two. I have to carry that tuner with me and in the same scenario a Technician would have to interface and then download the tune from the Tuner. Any tech that tunes can use almost any of the Tuners out there to get the job done and I was told by my Tech that they all pretty much work the same way but is just familiarity with the software that is a little different when your in there changing maps. Anyway I like the license concept from a customers view and If I am buying that is the way I will go with any bike unless there is another technical breakthrough we don't know about yet. The TTS was in the '17 when I bought the bike used.
Honestly I don't know how the EPA has not cracked down on this industry already and eliminated the ability to sell Tuners and shops to do this work as they have in the auto repair industry. I think we are all running on borrowed time.

I have been running a Dynojet Power Commander V on my 2007 Fatboy since 8/2014. It came pre-programmed for my application. Then in 2015 I took the Fatboy to Monroe LA to have the bike dyno tuned since I went from V&H short shots to the V&H Big Radius pipes. The bike has ran perfectly with this tuner. I may have to replace this tuner, with an Dynojet auto tune tuner, if I replace the cams in this 96" twin cam engine. Thanks for your review of some of Dynojets products.

PV3 should be standard equipment.. have a 14flhtk bought new. Noticed the bike loved those cool dry mornings like most any engine.. did the free flow exhaust and aircleaner and installed the PV3. Just like the vid, instant difference in exhaust smells.. ran 3 tune sessions for 20 min and the bike was transformed. Now every day it runs like its a cool morning... A year or so later i add a mild cam. No need to dyno.. just download a map close to what you have, flash and run a few tune sessions... the bike went from ok to hell yea... next is the wide band upgrade!

@@trentblom7665 Programmer Folks at Fuel Moto can look over results/log from Auto Tune Sessions and then make adjustments/corrections to fine tune the MAP further. This is very practical way to go and would work fine for most folks. Drag Racing applications (where the quest for extraction of every last HP & TQ is necessary) will still put the bike on the roller (Dyno).

I have used the Power Vision III and love it. By the way Factory and dealer can't void your warranty due to aftermarket parts because of the Magnuson Moss act. THey absolutley can if they can PROVE that you used "Off Road Use ONLY parts" on it....which is EXACTLY what the waiver you have to agree to on the startup screen is saying (you are acknowledging that you are using an OFF ROAD USE ONLY part on your bike). Within the ECU it will tag the software, saying that it has been modified by a Non Harley tuner (ALL non harley tuners are currently off road use only...if you find one that the EPA tags as on road use compliant it will be a POS).....so the Magnuson Moss act absolutely does NOT apply here. THat is what the huge EPA fine and consolation that Harley went through in 2017 was all about....because of thier screaming eagle tuner that they had to remove from the market

That is the only modification. with the factory tune the bike did not start very well and I was getting a lean surge when cruising at bout 40 mph. I put the FP3 on the bike picked the pipes from there list and loaded the program from Vance & Hines. The bike starts and runs like two different bikes. Best money I spent. If you have mods they don't have on there list you can contact them and they will send you map.

Traded the heritage for a 21 Roadking Special, and got a new license for the PV. Fuelmoto did me up a new tune when I ordered their head pipe to match up with my 4.5 Rinehart DBX( yes you're fav slipons!!). Hope mine goes as smooth as your install.

Get the target tune too..it's wideband o2 sensors that makes even more of an difference. You have to get dynojet or fuelmoto to email you a tune for the powervison tuner that's compatible for the target tune but it's worth it. Most aftermarket exhaust have the wideband o2 sensors bungs

Yes that is a nice tuner but there is nothing better on the market then the Thunder Max with Wave Tune.

  • @proamericanstoptyranny1260

I been using power commander for yrs. Upgraded to pcv last yr and this wknd installed the auto tune kit. If you are going to run the auto tune go ahead and get the auto tune kit with the wide band 02 sensors. The power vision comes with Auto tune basic and uses ur narrow band 02 sensors/ stock sensors and those can only operate like 14.1 to 15.8 afr. Wide band kit ranges from like 10.9 to 18 afr. Now this auto tune is not a real time change. U have to ride with tune on get the map it created and send it to the pcv. Their target tune set up will make changes in real time if this is something ur looking for. No need to dyno tune if u have the auto tuner or the target tuner

  • @05RangerXLT

Ive had a dynojet tuner on both of the bikes ive owned, and wont hesitate to buy from them again. I got my powervision through fuel moto and they preloaded it with a tune for my mods.
Im pretty sure you can get a second license and the other cable for it and use it on the heritage too

One thing I'm constantly reading is how the newer fuel injection Harleys are running hotter and hotter. Your statement about factory Harleys running lean is probably a big part of that since lean engines run hotter.

    • @ProfessionalMonkey

Absolutely. One of the reasons an aftermarket tune is important even if the bike is stock.

Just put the pv3b on Mt 22 roadglide with stage 2 torque cam and rheunhart slip on, I think it made a huge difference. Seems to run quieter at idle. No more pinging on load which I was getting since I bought the bike. Happy with it. I bought mine right from dynojet, u can get it 50-60 bucks cheaper thru tab and other companies but dyno jet will load the new maps and load a custom map gor your bike according to what u got done to it. It will put u in the ball park and can dyno it to get it dialed in if u want. One thing on the video, you have to make sure the start switch is on as well. Also, if u got sausage fingers, use a pencil with eraser to hit the screen. And never hit the red button on the right of the screen, it looks like a power button but it is a reset button and will clear all the data clean... ouch. Dynojet sends them with the new updates and gas a white sticker on box for instructions. I had an issue with my screen not working properly and they had a new one fed exed to me in 2 days, great customer service.

Remember your PV can tune two bikes. You can buy a license that will allow it to marry to a second bike. This is cheaper than buying a second tuner for another bike. The downside is you only have 8 slots so both bike will share those 8 slots. Not a big deal for me because I save my maps on my PC and only have 1 slot with auto tune session maps.

    • @ProfessionalMonkey
      @ProfessionalMonkey  Před 2 lety +1

Hey bud, new subscriber, your content is epic and some funny sh*t to boot! Just watched your old content on Sturgis, do’s and don’t. There were so many nuggets, so many takeaways, I found great value in…. Riding with the wrong crew, save a friendship, just go n your way, we’ll catch up later…. Have had several of those. Never know peeps until you ride or travel with them, and the wrong crowd can ruin a trip. Been there. Loved the putting the bike on the kickstand and take the bus if you’re drinking. Probably most valuable. Also you talked about the MCs and being respectful. Totally been in that surrounding and agree with it all. Do you find there to be a problem if a guy is minding his own business, rolling around town and bellied up to the bar with a red or black bandana on his head? Is that offending any MCs?

Just thought I’d ask in case something has changed. I was thinking maybe you and your bride need to go knock down an Iron Butt Saddlesore 1000 this year! Would love to enjoy that vlogging content!

I have learned, no matter what tuner you use the canned maps are only so so. Any tuner you have to dyno tune your bike to get the most out of it.

    • @vernmoore7710
      @vernmoore7710 Před 2 lety

That's the advantage of the Dyno Jet. Load a canned tune to get started and then do some rides with Auto Tune running to do the job a trip to the dyno would do to peak your tune. Ony an all-out race bike would need a dyno run after doing a full Auto Tune.
