Back in 1985, my mom threw mine out because they were gross. I must have been 6 or something. I was so pissed off. Back in the day, if you brought these cards to school, you were the coolest kid.
This is the saddest opening I’ve ever seen. A year ago plus I bought a full set of the OS1 series and was shocked at how expensive upgrade cards have gotten. I’m also so sad I didn’t just buy a box back then to enjoy opening them because the videos of people doing that not of you look like they’re having fun flashing back to their childhoods.
I wish I still had my original set because I was born in 1984 so I experienced GPKs original run but I lost a majority during so many moves over the years but I wouldn't try to collect them again at this point
@@MisterKimble same here, I managed to salvage a few from my childhood but that's it I only prioritize and when I see my favorite ones I'll purchase them that way but other than that they're not a must have on my list I just really miss that sticker album my late grandmother had gave to me when I was 10 but that's outrageously pricey as well and most of the ones I've seen are used the one I had was practically brand new and my grandmother only paid $1.00 for it.
I found complete set of os1 stored away in my house, if your interested, we can talk....they're not sealed packs, they're loose cards but in good condition.
It's not unusual for the gum to stick to the very first card after 35+ years....BUT this mess looks like something more. This looks like somebody improperly stored these for a long time, likely somewhere it was way too hot. Like a Florida attic. Very unfortunate indeed. I feel for you.
Hi, don’t know if you can help? I have a whole collection of garbage pail kids almost the entire collection. They are in an album placed in sleeves and I don’t know how to go about selling them or who to sell them to. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Ahhh man 😭I bought 3 packs, a little luckier but my blasted billy was the gum card 😥I bought these in the uk in the 80s but didn’t understand back then to keep them in good nick. Then the mum lost everything in storage 😭 I wish I’d thought about os1 in 2017 when I was buying up chrome 1. Didn’t even think to look. Did you know what the price was for os1/2 packs was in 2017?
To give you a perspective on prices nowadays. In 2011, I bought an OS3 box for 50 dollars, and OS4 for 25 dollars, and an OS7 for 17 dollars. I remember OS1 boxes were around $1200 at the time and I thought that was too high. OS2 were around $250ish. I remember seeing OS1 boxes for 1-2k last year, and OS2 for around 300. I should have pulled the trigger but oh well.
@@MisterKimble ahhh man that’s sad to hear but awesome to know. I bid on an os7 bbcexchange with poster for $240 including the p&p. I figured it was worth getting because of Adam boom. Will be interesting how that goes in the future. I feel the prices of os go up based on the chrome counterpart. Like os3 is going up now that chrome 3 is coming out. I really hope chrome 4 comes out next year :-D I wish I bought a load of gpk on eBay from the U.K. back in 2011!! 😐
@@DKSubconscious Good luck on the OS7; great set & the Adam/Billy cards are worth something if PSA 10 worthy. OS4 is a great set as well, so you know the Chrome is coming out for that one. lol
@@MisterKimble I think 4, 5 would be on the cards. Maybe up to 7. But for me Chrome means a chance to collect the Originals but with the slight difference of being shiny. I think this is why they are so big at the moment. We're all a load of Magpie's :-D
I should send you some micro to open. Like a micro rack pack or a blister card back. Nobody opens them. Avo opened one but I forgot to put the damn cello pack inside. I have sketches now too... micro sketches.

Mr. Kimble, I know all the biggest whales holding the OS1 collection from the Topps Digital collection. If you want to open a pack of OS1 from the digital collection, I can probably make that happen. lmk
You must know that the VERY first GPK is a Wacky PacK that was never put into production from 1985 until many years later by an underground syndicate . Lots of true history story stuff behind the origin of GPK-Zero.

I only experienced getting the from Series 3 on as a kid. Yeah, these are too expensive now!

Why is it that UK vintage sets were always tiny, same thing I found out owning 1966 Batman AB&C, soo small and not satisfying 😢
