Good upgrade on the case with the change to tan color and the quiet clip design.
Bought a Dimondback 2000 and so far it's working really well. Was able to pick up a grain bin at 2115 with just one click and zero hesitation, which is further than advertised and so far I was able to range deer at 531 (haven't tried further) with zero hesitation aswell and trees at 1800 plus yards aswell with no hesitation. Definitely a huge upgrade from the ranger 1800.
I just hope the new 2000 HD pick deer up better than the 1800 because I was lucky if I picked up a deer at 450 yards, nevermind 900. That rangefinder was such a disappointment. And I sent it back to vortex and they sent me a brand new one and it was the same thing over. All my buddies had the same problem with there's aswell. I simply went back and pulled out my 20 year old bushnell yardage pro 850
Really appreciate this video- Perhaps I missed it, is the Diamondback HD waterproof? Looks like the display no longer shows battery life-not that it was particularly accurate before.
The 1800 picking up deer 450 if you’re lucky. I hope the 2000 is better .
While it is nice to see that Vortex updates their product lines, the Ranger 1800 delivers a solid performance for ranging targets. If the 2000 HD had Bluetooth to connect to my Kestrel with DoF, then that would have made it worth the upgrade :)

both $299 - should i buy the Ranger 1300 or the Crossfire HD2000? lol... anyone?
I would definitely go with the updated HD. Search Ranger 1300 problems and look at what comes up and then search Crossfire HD problems. I just bought the Diamondback 2000 HD and really like the fast range return. Why buy older technology that cost more than the newer item with a longer range?
Ranger 1800 is far superior then diomandback 2000 in real life uses. I own it for 4 years and last year my friend bought diomandback 2000.
Though its packed with more feature but 1800 is more rugged. Quality of glass and accuracy in low light is superior in 1800 which matter most .
From the sound of it…. Why would anyone buy the Ranger 1800 for $50 more than the Diamondback HD, which appears to be a superior product. Not that Vortex should increase the Diamondback line, but you’d think the Ranger 1800 price would drop to maybe $250 or $225 (whatever doesn’t price out their crossfire line)
Sportsmans just dropped the price to $280.
@@duelcard1391 After looking through the Diamondback and Ranger, and then the Viper 3000, I decided to pull the trigger on the Viper 3000HD, over trying to justify a Diamondback or a Ranger. Glass is pretty nice and I like it a lot so far.
