    If you're looking for an entry level rangefinder it's really, really hard to beat the 1400... It's just phenomenal for the price it's at and performs so much better than any competitors in that same range/quality/price. I was comparing this thing with the Leupolds similar unit and it wasn't even close... Even the warranty alone is worth the money, but this thing picks up range super fast, clear, and you get 10th's of a yard/meter unlike most of the others that just round to the nearest.

    When you in an archery competition the very close distances often screw very skilled people. The precise distance right up on a target is important for this use, as well as knowing your very close range DOPE.

    Very thorough review! Does the Crossfire have active scanning, or do you need to click to keep up with moving targets?

      Thanks for checking it out! I did not notice an "active scanning" mode nor does Vortex mention one for the Crossfire.

    Does the 4000 have anything besides extended range vs the 3000?

    Did you actually notice a difference in the quality of the glass looking through the Diamondback 2000 compared to the Viper 3000?

    • @toddhelms5241
      @toddhelms5241 Před 2 lety +4

      Yes, there was a noticeable difference. Enough to make me go with the Viper 3000 if I were choosing between the two.

      @@toddhelms5241 I appreciate the information. Sounds like the Viper 3000 is worth the extra $100 for the brighter and clearer glass. Thanks dear the most thorough video on these new rangefinders and have a good day!

    OK I just wanted to say I live in an area where 50-100 is the normal range but a deer coming across huge fields in the daytime? ……… They don’t get big being stupid. I use a scope but at 3/4 power. I use higher powers at the range to fine tune my groups. I have seen people using one on a golf course. In all my years(68) I’ve never needed one.

      Thanks for watching the review. Hunting the West is best done with a rangefinder. Products like these Vortex rangefinders help hunters make ethical shots on game when distance is unknown. Thus eliminating "guesstimating" of ranges that often results in, at best, missed shots and at worst, wounded game animals.

    The HD stans for high density, not high definition. Just fyi
