While Anime is unique in its own way, there are a bunch of characters that are found in several shows! Here, I guide you through the 7 most common types of characters in anime from Tsunderes, Yanderes, all the way to the pervy old man and little sisters in anime!

For the male dandere part some other examples would be: Shoya from A Silent Voice, Shinji from Evangelion, and Kazuya from Rent a Girlfriend.

I like to call the “black hair character who is good at everything/what they specialize in” the “Sasuke character”
Some examples would be Sasuke himself, Kageyama, Furuya (from Diamond no Ace), Haru from Free!, Giyu from Demon Slayer.
I guess they fall under the “Kuudere” now that I’ve watched this video 😅

Kyo from Fruits Basket definitely changed my mind about tsunderes lol. I think he's a good example of a well written one who isn't violent/rude for the sake of it, but just has issues he needs to work out

It is probably bc I am like them, too. I don't really show anything. Not the same personality type but I find them really relatable.
The first yandere character to be created is Yukako from JoJo. I recommend this anime very much, because its themes an characters deviate a lot from the tropes we see usually in media.
WAIT SHE'S THE FIRST YANDERE CHARACTER?? also same. I've always recommend jjba to anyone I know because jojo is very unique compared to any other animes when it comes to tropes, characters and plot. the fact that jojo was written since 80s is crazy to me.

If Kageyama is a kudere I’m a medieval Chinese emperor.
Being kudere means you have no strong emotions in the daily life and only show some when you’re in a particular unusual highly unexpected situation.
I think it’s a mistake to take the most quiet member of the team and say he’s cold. I think you could say he’s pretty socially awkward and he’s a “goody two shoes” meaning he’s very polite and doesn’t want to scold anyone on his team or even question them, he’s terrified someone would just hate him for it (as if he was a dictator, who he never wanted or acted like one) and that would’ve disconnected him from the team.
I don’t think I need to say how much he’s passionate and how he comes to appreciate his teammates and the very first episode is a demonstration: he’s a vulcano, he loves volleyball so much that he wants to do better and better even against a weak opponent and also he noticed passion from Hinata and went all out because even if he scold him for being bad he treated him as a worthy opponent. That’s because he thinks passion and dedication are much more important than a good form and technique.
Those are not the traits of a Kudere, he’s just like Rukawa from Slam Dunk but he just doesn’t shine like a super spiker like Ujijima or a offense devil like Rukawa.
On the other hand Todoroki is much more of a Kudere because his calm self is his main attitude. He wants to be an hero because he knows well his outstanding abilities but he doesn’t show strong emotions usually, that’s why Bakugo hates him being the opposite of him.
I agree! I think, if Kageyama was viewed from any other perspective (one not belonging to his fellow volleyball idiots) he could be described as a kuudere. I totally understand how, from an outsider’s view, he’d seem aloof. But in the series? His fierce dedication to the sport he’s played his entire life? His competitive nature, and the hunger he displays in pursuit of volleyball perfection? Whatever the fuck’s going on between him and Hinata? Yea, ‘m not buying it. He’s super passionate, he just fumbles the bag when it comes to communicating his feelings in the right way. If anything, would that not be closer to a tsundere? Emotional and caring, but aggressive/rude when showing it?

Another male Dandere would be Tamaki Amajiki from MHA. I think there is another anime character type that is like old and perverted. Only this time, young and perverted like Minoru Mineta. Don't know the others but yea.

I know Miyamura was mentioned in other comments for male dandere, but I’m thinking Kakeru from Orange could be one. Another more recent one might be Akio from I-chu, he’s such an awkward boi and I love him so much lol. I actually never considered the mary sue senpai but it actually makes a lot of sense. My first thought during your explanation of it was Mami from Madoka Magica. Also dude you’re like so good at explaining things, I never fully understood the difference between kuudere and dandere until now.

I wouldn't say Kuuderes and Tsunderes and Kuuderes aren't opposites exactly, personally I consider them rather similar in that they both aren't open about their real feelings, they just go about it differently. Kuuderes are just better at covering it up, because they aren't very expressive and/or good at covering them up in the first place. I can think of couple characters that actually have features from both, with the first that comes to mind being Nezumi from "No. 6" who most of the characters find difficult to read most of the time, but the second his love interest Shion turns up he goes full grumpy tsundere - to the point where it can be jarring to characters that aren't used to seeing him, "act like a person" in the slightly paraphrased words of one character. Basically, the guy can usually maintain a poker face and cover up his feelings, but when he's around someone he actually likes they start leaking out, and because he's terrified of getting attached to people and doesn't want to admit it to himself when he DOES get attached, they leak out in a very tsundere way.

Vegeta is not a good example of Tsundere, he never had a caring side in the original manga. He just developed attachment to his family and became less aggressive and more mature. He doesn’t hurt people when he loves them, he hurts people because he’s a proud selfish asshole.
On the other hand Bakugo is a good tsundere. Although he’s often angry because he’s aggressive and has stress management issues he often acts angry also to people he likes and respect or grew closer because he doesn’t know what being kind to people means. As he gets more mature he sometimes stay more calm.
(For instance he liked Uraraka’s courage when he faced her and expressed that by being aggressive and give her his best).

@@inakyu I feel like Light is actually a good person but he got too carried away. The Death Note made him this way. He had his principles that if a person is bad, they "may" deserve death. BUT that is of course not the case.
Side note: Do you know from the movies where L talks about the kind of monster that can defeat him and that he is that monster, too? I really loved that. It explains both Light and L's personality. To me, Light was the one who kind of "fell" for L's intelligence and also L fell for Light's. L knew Light was Kira but couldn't bring himself to actually "catch" him bc he was in awe and wanted to see what happens next. People keep saying he never considered him a friend or anything but if you watch the anime or read the manga, you can see they both cared. The difference was Light cared only and ONLY for L (him as a person but most importantly his intelligence) whereas L cared about so much more. "The bells are very loud, today." quote really shows L's emotions, he knew he would die but couldn't help but to let it happen. Light was his only true friend who matched his intelligence.

Also, I am not just "shipping" them to ship them like a lot of people do bc when there are two men and they are kinda close, people tend to do that. I really did not ship them AT ALL at first but then when I saw the nuance of their relationship, I understood why they actually did care about each other (even without the foot washing scene - since it is not in the manga).
WITH the foot washing scene, gayest shit I have ever seen on any anime hahahhah.
