The Moonswatch launch has been a widely debated and, in some cases, highly criticized move by Swatch Group. Fortunately, there is a way to measure success or failure - by sales and brand awareness. After 1.5M in sales and a 50% increase in actual Omega Speedmaster sales there is no argument to be made regarding its success!
Finally someone who seems to have no bias. Just an objective perspective. I’ve had many opportunities to pick-up a moonswatch but I just don’t think it’s for me, but the idea and the strategy was brilliant.

I have a Bamford x G-shock. Is it a Bamford watch? Of course not. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that it’s a G-shock… same principle. And for a swatch, though a bit too pricey, it fine that it’s a plastic watch with a quartz movement. The movements aren’t half bad either. Everyone says it’s terrible but I have a swatch that is 20 years old and works fine. Just change the battery every few years and it runs perfectly. So, I think you have take it for what it is… a plastic swatch, like most swatches, with a markup due to the Omega collaboration.

Yes it is crazy. $250 for a $29 Chinese bot made pile of junk. Cut the case open, movement has laser welded plates, no screws = not serviceable. Same as the Mall Kisok $29 Chinese 'fashion' watches. It does hurt the Omega brand as Omega spent 100 years making quality and people buy quality from a name they trust.
It is not an Omega watch. It is a Swatch with an Omega dial 😉 Everyone how think he has an Omega Watch must be crazy
