Deuter Aircontact Core and Deuter Futura Air Trek backpacks are both fundamental series from this brand, incredibly functional and with great features, but they follow two very different design concepts. In this text, I compare the 50+10 liters packs from the two series. #backpacking #backpacks #hiking

Hello, i just ordered and received a Futura 45+10 SL backpack. The back is very comfortable, but the spring frame of the backpack extends so high that it hits the back of my head.. does the Aircontact also have this extended metal frame? If you know thank you!
Hi, I am puzzled, I have been using these packs for years and never had such an issue. You even forced me to take the pack from the place where I keep it (the version for men of course) and and to have a closer look.
Here is what I conclude: 1) I am almost certain that your hip belt is far too high. When I position the pack inappropriately, I also can touch the frame with the back of my head. After so many years it is first time I realize this, but then again, I have never used the pack incorrectly. So, adjust the pack's torso length correctly, in this case the hip belt will hug your hip bones, or just try to release shoulder harness so that the pack slides down your body to the hips area. You will realize that the pack sits much lower in this case and you will not be able to touch the frame with the back of your head.
Out of curiosity, I tried with my another pack which I have at hand, Marmot Lithium 40, so yes when it is too high, I also touch the frame with my head. In other words, you have this with every pack.
Try what I suggested and let me know.
2) You may have too short torso length and then the pack's top is too high no matter what you do. If so, you should go for packs made for youths from their Fox series. Here is the link for Deuter: tidd.ly/3WbWjuT , and here is for Amazon: amzn.to/49RtZkF .
Back to your question, the Core pack has a very different frame, two thick stays, but you might have the same problem if your hip belt is too high.
New 2024 version Core 40+10 has J shape zipper.
I know, they have both versions on their site, you can see them here: tidd.ly/4aflEqY
Hlo sir,
Im from india currently using forclaz backpack. Want to upgrade for which backpack should i go now deuter or osprey. Please suggest im confused.
Hi, it would be irresponsible to suggest one or another before knowing what you really need. I have packs from both brands and can direct you.
Here are my questions: which volume, how much weight do you expect to carry, what activity, ventilated or not, budget, ultralight and minimalist design or not, gender (man or woman), with rain cover or without.
@@mountainsforeverybody weight as needed in 4-5 days trek, I'll be trekking for 4-6 days, it should be more comfortable, design I want is basic & useful pack, rain cover if coming it's good if not will buy from outside not a big deal but the pack should be long lasting & durable because I'm rough user & i don't care much about pack while trekking.
@@user-ze7nc5rn6i If you have access to Deuter Aircontact X, this is the best they have ever made, for rough users for sure. Here is the link mountainsforeverybody.com/deuter-aircontact-x-backpack
The second option would be Osprey Aether Plus, here you can see hwo they compare: mountainsforeverybody.com/deuter-aircontact-x-vs-osprey-aether-plus-backpacks
@@mountainsforeverybody Aircontact x will be too big for me 60+15 & it's also not available here. I want the maximum of 65l backpack.
I'm getting towards deuter because they are selling it officially and osprey so far doesn't have an official dealer or store here.
@@user-ze7nc5rn6i The go for Aircontact Core. Note that +10 or +15 only means an extendable collar, so this is a bonus for just a few grams extra weight. But if you want extremely ventilated back panel, this would be Futura Air Trek. However, for heavier loads, Core will work better.
