Nice Estes Tandem build. The Estes Amazon model rocket use to be modified with Estes Booster 55, it's the same color plastic and uses a 24mm D motor. If you can find a Booster 55, swap out the black plastic fin can and fins. Add nose weight to rebalance the C/G until stable using the swing test. The D motor has more ejection charge, so use more wadding and the chute won't melt. Modified Amazon wil reach about 1,000 feet on a D12-5 and will still be able to launch on 18mm motors with Estes 24mm/18mm motor adapter. The fan test works better inside when you're tight for space. ❤

Thank you for the nice video. I’m looking forward to building this kit with my son. Did you use wadding for the launch? Thanks

You are very welcome! I think it's great that your going to build and fly this with your son, that's what it's all about. Yes, I did use wadding, if you don't it could melt the elastic band. Have fun and thanks for watching.

Cool video. Appreciate it! My son and I are making these at home now. He is 7. I like the small applicator you’re using for the glue/cement. What product is that? Also cool music!

Thank you so much! I think it's awesome that your building with your son, we need to get more young people interested in the hobby. The glue I used is Testors Clear Parts Cement & Window Maker (#3535) It has a really nice applicator built into the bottle. And thanks for the comment on the music, I spend way to much time selecting the soundtrack but, it's nice to hear when someone likes it. Thanks for watching, have a great weekend.

I got into model rockets in the 70s and this is the SAME launchpad they sold back then. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

YES! I got into them way back in the 70's too and it hasn't changed much. Totally agree with your statement, If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Thanks for watching, have a great day.
