      I never liked that storyline… I still don’t know where they were going with this. Was she trying to get money out of Tony? The way they first met was suspicious. I thought she was going to be a scammer who never knew his dad, was the friend or sister of his actual gumar. But nope… it just went nowhere.

    • @hullbreach33
      @hullbreach33 Před 2 lety +78

      @@Boobalopbop It was about showing Tony the "idealized" version of his dad. Making him feel like his dad was justified in what he did because Livia was so evil and he went to Fran because she was so good to him. In reality, Fran was a parasite. She was just as bad as Livia but in a different way. The storyline was about giving Tony the opportunity to come to grips with the fact that his dad fucked him up just as bad as his mom. But in the end, Tony decided to keep believing the illusion of how great his dad was.

I remember thinking his dad was a PoS for putting him in that position. But yeah, Tony sees his dad as a God, but he was kind of a sleazy goofball. I think Chris foreshadows what we may see his dad was really like when he said “Let’s face it, the great Dickie Moltisante, wasn’t much more than a junkie”…. Tony’s reaction to that was interesting. Like he just didn’t know what to say, like that never occurred to him, because he sees him as this great man. I guess we’ll see in the movie.

      @Dominian1 Před 2 lety +14

      Because lying and cheating aren't a big deal to the guy who emulates and idolizes his father who lied and cheated as a life-style. That only leaves blame on the person who forced the dog out of the family. His dad isn't the one who took the dog away from him. And I think it's just anger, placed right. What kind of person gives away a family dog and then lies to the kids about it? Tony's mother is a psycho bitch and he struggles with that, because he isn't a psychopath. He loves animals and his family. He can't stop himself from being a shitbag, but he wants better for his kids. His parents never cared.

    _In Camelot_ is a great episode... with one of my favorite endings of any of them: that look on Tony's face, after spilling a bunch of - what he knows to be - BS to "the guys" about his father's mistress, with the brilliant music/sound design backing him. So many conflicting things going on in him at that moment; _very_ ambiguous - like the final scene of the episode when Ton' and Chris "take care of" Ralph and clean up at The Bing - Tony shouts out for Chris after falling asleep, can't find him, and opens the backdoors into a shocking blast of light; doesn't seem menacing, but the way it's filmed, it's brilliant.

      J.T. did himself no favors continuing to wuss out on paying his debt to Christopher.
      No one told him to gamble, and he knew the kind of people he was playing up against with. He has to the gall to call Christopher a prick, and while that's true, that doesn't change the fact that J.T. is the one who gambled himself into debt, and Christopher was sick of waiting for him to pay up.
      J.T.'s excuse "I need more time", indicates he believes he's entitled to it because he believes he and Christopher are friends (they're not, Chris is a low-life junkie hitman, J.T. a hopeless gambler). Christopher brings him back to Earth on this one (with a little help from Little Paulie).
      I'll give J.T. some slack, by the end of his arc on the show he has made the effort to stay sober and has even managed to snag the L&O writing gig that he was rejected for in this episode. Once J.T. paid off his debt he would have been better off getting as far away from Christopher as possible.

    Actually the JFK administration was labeled "Camelot" posthumously by Jackie Kennedy in order to idealize the administration. Kennedy supporters, and Kennedy himself, would have found such a label ridiculous during JFK's life. The title is also a reference to the title song from the musical "Camelot".jthe song repeats the refrain "In Camelot..."

    Christopher's storyline with the guy from Wings is similar to Tony's storyline with the guy from Terminator 2. In both cases the mobster is able to compartmentalize the world of gambling their two friends voluntarily entered. So, to Christopher, the beating was simply something the Wings guy asked for when he decided to gamble with mob money, it wasn't personal.
