Laffy brings the team together so well. When he’s on his game, everyone else follows. He scored the first and last goal of the season and thats poetic… jobs not finished.
To me, seeing that there are 2 teams in the playoffs that have less wins than the red wings tells me that there’s a problem with the way the point structure is done in the playoffs. The best teams should be in and the wings have 7th most wins in the east. Idk what needs to change but something needs to.

Canes and oilers both had difficulties, canes have 2 very long road trips that go out west and play some of these better weatern teams and it coincided with their goalie struggles. People are forgetting that mid november canes had literally the wors save % amd GAA in the league, but since have turned it around by Kochectkov figuring it out, picking up Martin, and getting Anderson back. And we all know the oilers story and their horrible start and coaching change. Id be curious to see numbers not including those periods, and i know you can say "Well they still lost", but they were during specific times and Id bet it would be better.
ok, here's my hockey headcanon for the offseason/next season: the reason the Yotes are moving *now* is because with TWO players chasing 100 assists, 1 player chasing 70 goals, and just *gestures broadly towards the wildcards*, the League Writers went "how the hell can we even match the drama from this season again?" to which the obvious answer is "new team" but with AZ's Ross and Rachel-esque dance with death as a business, they had to move them first
Congrats to Caps obviously. But I've wanted nothing more than the wings to make it in after those last two games.
If your only argument against OT points is "teams with losing records making the playoffs sucks" you have no argument. Teams in the NBA make it into the playoffs with losing records all the time, and they do 1-8 (1-10 if you count the play in but even before the play in you had losing records make it)
Call me a conspiracist but I think Torts (like I) couldn’t handle the stress of the WC2 race anymore. Had to pull the goalie to put an end to it
Here we are 10pm on Wed night, AND MATTHEWS WAS BLANKED TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW!!! Poor guy finished with 69. What a gut punch. 69 is other worldly but to be 1 away, and not get it while you watch Kuch get 100, oh man, thats gotta be a crap plane ride home tonight!!
