I’d love to see a build using only kits (even the ones you dislike 😂)
Yessss! James did this a while ago and it was fun
YES
Yessss
She did every room is a different kit
Awesome until you realize no toilets 🤣
next time you should make the "iconic, in a negative way" category, so you can put dust the bust on it
Iconic (derogatory)
@@BellaFromTheMoon I came here to say exactly that lmao
DUST THE BUST
@@ripihy THE BUST DUST
It’s not iconic in any way. It’s a huge failure and makes me really upset. It’s fully a waste of money. It worked ONCE FOR ME. That’s not funny or iconic in any way. That’s stealing and fraud.
I suggest mixing the Décor to the Max kit with items from the new Pastel Pop kit, I mixed the two for a living room and love the way it came out!
The Pastel Pop kit is the whole reason I wanna also get the Max kit bc I bet they work so well together!!
Now pair that with paranormal and boom you have the perfect combo
Blooming rooms goes super well with the Max kit! 😍
Pastel Pop also plays perfectly with Nifty Knitting's color scheme! I've also had good luck with some High School Years stuff, along with Decor to the Max. Plumbella & Co really nailed this one!
@@pinkcupcake4717 Pastel Pop is really gonna make people buy more kits and packs just bc it goes so well with them
feels illegal to rank the desert luxe kit for us who got it for free
Yesss
Agreed
I honestly feel it could have been a little bigger but it's not bad
Me who started playing the sims again after it stopped being free 💀
I wish we could’ve chosen the kit we wanted
Build challenge idea:
Every room is decorated with 1 random expansion/game pack and 1 random stuff pack/build kit - so you have to merge 2 styles that might not go together for each room.
Base game only for needed things that aren't in either (toilet in bathroom, fridge in kitchen, etc.)
I am currently doing this with colors, and it’s so much more stimulating that just choosing one thing. Anyone can make a green kitchen. But a green and purple one? Yeah, that’s a challenge alright
Yes
That’s actually a great idea. I’ve been in a building rut recently and I’ve been looking for a good build challenge. Thanks!
you should suggest this to Vixella or another youtuber that makes this build challenges
I do this, but I use James Turner's pack randomizer to choose an Expansion, Game, and Stuff/Kit to use in each room of a house. Getting some packs to work together can be a real challenge, but it gets me out of my comfort zone and I've made some nice looking rooms.
I used to play the Sims all the time, fell off for about a year or two, and decided to get back in with the newest kits - my jaw DROPPED at the number of kits there are. Last time I played, KITS WEREN'T EVEN A THING
this.
Ahaha same here
same !! now I want to buy some kits and i really liked the dust one but now i am not sure
@@N__8888 bust the dust is definetly fine but it does get a bit annoying sometimes
@@twentyeight602 oh if its just that i think i will love it. i though it didn’t work . Thank you 🙏🏻
I believe you are totally on point in the reasoning why we aren't getting gameplay kits. I think that's also why we're not getting "stuff packs" because those also require a lot of gameplay, which does take more resources to build compared to CAS or BB. Also, gameplay items tend to cause more bugs in the game than CAS or BB. And I suspect that since they already have their hands full with trying to fix the bugs that *have* happened, they want to avoid adding more with a comparatively low-cost item.
Hands full ? They haven’t addressed the broken gameplay AT ALL.
@@brandib2821 I was gonna say 😂 they’re half right
I feel like as much as I personally love the Pastel Pop kit (seriously, I want every piece of that furniture for myself), I'd probably not use it as much as I'd like to think I would. It's a cute aesthetic, certainly, but I like to build for my Sims, houses that reflect their lives, and I don't have any Sims who I think fit that style. We don't have much CAS that really fits that same aesthetic, so it feels like there aren't many ways to make a sim to go with that stuff.
I was definitely thinking this too. It's very niche, and not every teen Sim of mine would have that for their room.
I hope they give us more for free like Desert Lux :)
agreed
Yes, but realistically not.
I don’t think there will be many like that bc they wont have a lot of opportunities bc before it was for existing players before the game goes free. Maybe in the future if it goes to another platform.
they should be half the price and should go on sale, but that would never happen
@@oscarkamala no way it'll happen. they're literally $5 i don't get some of you guys lmfao
The desk chair in Plumbella’s pastel pop kit was called “Luv 2 Work” and I wish they’d called it “Luv 2 Sit” 😂😭
YES!!! Incheon Arrivals is so, so good. I use it all the time. It was the only kit I had until Pastel Pop and I also want the clutter kit now that I see it.
I'm with ya on that. Moonlight Chic and Country Kitchen were pretty damn good too. I get a lot of use out of the items from those kits
I’d love to see functioning lawnmowers. Like Bust the Dust, but lawn mowing. That would be awesome!
That would be cool but I feel they would have to create a grass growing system, kinda like the hair growth system, and it would have to be programmed to be affected by Seasons so it probably would be too complicated to create unfortunately
Ooo that’s actually an interesting idea though! Imagine you can make your kid mow the lawn or something for allowance. Or in build mode make the lawn look interesting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It could work out similar to how gardening does.
Can you do a build where you randomly choose one expansion pack one game pack one stuff pack and one kit and you can only use those to build the house no base game
Blooming is one of my most-used build kits, I love the variety and having more green everwhere🪴
Especially since you can size plants up or down, you basically have a ton more plants than you would with the og sizes :)
It’s one of my most used kits for sure
The lemon/orange plant is one of my favorite items in build mode. It's so cute. It's the only kit I've bought so far!
Yeah I'm pretty shocked she doesn't like it! I LOVE it. I love overloading my rooms with plants, and I think many simmers are the same.
i love this kit SO MUCH i use sooo many of the items. the three tiered planter lamp is my favorite ❤️🔥
@@immortalwaifu yesssss i swear i find a way to squeeze that lamp into every build i do now
I love the idea for Bust the Dust but the dust accumulates way too quickly (if there was a setting we could tweak, that'd be ideal) AND there's no broom? We needed a broom. Also it would have been nice to have included one of those carpet sweeper things. It'd have had the same animation as the hoover, but it would have been an off-the-grid item
if you're playing on pc then there are a couple of mods that tweak the dust (littlemssam has one, lotharihoe has one, and kuttoe has one, afaik) which you can pick and choose from, and then mizoreyukii has a functional broom mod too! I also love the idea of the dust but i can't play it without some of these mods haha
@@rea_keebz Thank you for the recommendations :) I've checked checked them out and downloaded a few extra things too lmao
My floors have stayed clean since a week after I installed the kit…I don’t get it…
@@brandib2821 it has been 4 months, so I assume you figured it out now... but I have heard that the dust is automatically off when you start your game and you have to actually turn it on.
the throwback fit kit is soooo useful, I use it on basically every sim for their athletic wear. it's a favorite for sure. incheon arrivals too.
SAME! I was shocked that she ranked that one so low. It would definitely be in the good tier for me hahaha
For me, the Little Campers Kit is the absolute top-tier best one. It inspired me to do all sorts of gameplay and totally revitalized playing child sims for me. The other kits are nice, but no other kit really does that, not even the supposed "gameplay" kit.
This and modern lux for looks is my fav.
So interesting. I use the Decor to the Max kit SO frequently. Not all together but one thing here or there.
it's my favorite.
I also love Industrial Loft for the furniture. Wild how different our choices are.
The only kit that I actually bought was Decor to the Max because I wish i could decorate my real life home like that. I love the colors and patterns. If i get any of the other ones it would probably be Incheon arrivals or plants and clutter.
With the Build kits, I always go to modders who makes Add ons, they make a lot of windows sizes and doors too, I recommend
I didn't think I'd like the Throw Back Fit kit but I use it ALL the time. The one top and short set make a great bathing suit for Sims that want an in between bikini and one piece, I wish it was tagged for swimwear
Great list!! Something semi forgotten that really tanks the enjoyment of the industrial loft kit for me is the bed -which is a nice looking item, but it has a RIDICULOUSLY low comfort rating. I never use it because I almost never upgrade items in the game, so it's just not worth it!
I have finally found my people 😆 it annoys me soooo much when cute beds and chairs are low comfort !!! Also , when simmers review build and buy items ; ver few of them mention the comfort level which to me is the most important feature of furniture
If you're interested and able to use mods, LittleMsSam has a mod that lets you upgrade the comfort and energy ratings of any bed by purchasing a new mattress for it in-game. It is the main reason I'm willing to use bunk beds
@@vanguardiris3232 oooh thanks for the info... I only use a UI mod ... but I will check this one out
I really enjoy Bust the Dust. I did experience some glitches at the beginning, but they have all been fixed by now. The gameplay really adds challenge to keeping your house and it’s great for hags to riches and fixer upper storytelling
Congrats the gameplay works for you. I’ve not been able to play the kit except once. Not impressed and will be boycotting sims until I can play it
Very good rankings. Incheon Arrivals is definitely my favorite, with desert luxe and pastel pop soon after.
My personal favorite is pastel pop as it is very complete and unique. I have to admit I was surprised by how much kits we had😂
Blooming Rooms is great since I love builds with lots of plants. The selection of plants without them is pretty bland. Decor To The Max is very good for the Chinoiserie themed stuff, which handy because many old posh houses in the UK have these styled rooms (Buckingham Palace has an entire sitting room like this) so it goes well for making grand estate houses.
My face when Bust the Dust was moved to the delete list! It’s my favourite kit, the dust bunnies have changed my gameplay so much. It make things like the 100 baby challenge so much easier, and even in more regular gameplay I don’t have to bother with rabbit hole jobs anymore.
It stopped working in my game completely after some update this year. It was one of my faves, but if they don't fix the bugs some of us are having, I think she ranked it in the right place in the end, unfortunately.
The amount of money you can make from the dust bunny system feels like a joke though to me. It's so... game changingly broken.
I just want chores that make my Sims lives more annoying lol
@@JamesFluker I feel you. I just discovered simrealist's mods, especially the one where you have to cut your grass, and it felt like a revelation for my "stay at home parent" saves
How do you get it to work ?
it feels illegal to be this early
it is. congrats, fucker, you got served
Omg deadass lmao
no fr😭
@@falka2398 uhhh
This was genuinely super helpful - Incheon Arrivals is the only kit I’ve paid for, and I have the Desert Luxe kit from when it was free, but there’s just so many that it’s kinda overwhelming to figure out which ones I might want! So thank you for this video!!
I love the kits the Sims team have added recently- the Camping (14:00), Desert (15:15), and Pastel (16:17) kits have items that could work in most build styles an average player would use
Yeah my issue with the kits is so much of it is culture/niche stuff. It’s nice for them to cater to their average player who wants cups and a nice looking top. These kits seem the more successful ones too.
Pastel kit is super niche tho. The industrial or the courtyard (the arabic one) you can mix with other base game itens.
I will not spend money on kits, because no, but it's still fun to watch. I'm interested to see what simsie's opinion is!
same here, i only have base game so i use cc nd mods… i do wish i cld get sm of the expansions for gameplay bc its sooo bare but rn i jus play cc nd build mode
love these videos even just to hear your opinions lol. actually when i got the new kits i wanted to get myself another pack as a treat and i got dream home decorator partially bc of your rec and omg simsie it's soooo nice to have all that modular stuff. it's so cute too!!! so thanks hehe
ea could do a kit collab with lilsimsie, it would be *REALLY ICONIC*
The Blue Suburban Decor Kit
@@Myne1001 HAHAHAHA
I think that the Little Campers, First Fits, Country Kitchen, and Everyday Clutter kits are my favorite. I just want more gameplay for more everyday/rustic/family gameplay. I don't care much for the more modern/trendy/glamorous styles. I like those kits because they come with items that come with items that give your stories just a liiiittle more detail. 😊
Ngl I use Bust the Dust a lot, but I also mostly play in haunted houses. Having a dusty old basement or attic actually adds a pretty cool change in atmosphere to a house imo
But I gotta add that if I wanna keep a house clean, I upgrade roombas and leave it to them.
Happy you are able to use a product you paid for and didn’t have fraud committed on you by EA
I love the industrial loft kit, I use in a lot of builds
100% agree about blooming rooms. I was so hype and at first was like omg I love it so much and now I never use it.
Dang. I was surprised to realize how many kit items I use all the time as you went through them. Incheon Arrivals was the first kit where I thought, "eh, these aren't too bad," and I just love the long coat in it. Thanks for showing off the two newest kits, too. I came looking for previews.
I love the new video Kayla, and I totally agree with your list! I LOVE the Pastel Pop kit! 💕💕
Imagine kits that were just build sets, like a whole kit that was a fully expanded window and door set, kind of like peacemaker’s Austere set, or his graciously Georgian set, or like heyharrie’s kwatei collection. I feel like they could make a lot of people happy with a whole kit dedicated to nice windows and doors.
I bought the pastelle kit and I LOVE it!!! Super enjoyed this video!! Could you do an update of the expansion pack rankings? 🙏
Yes more tier lists, PLEASE
Enjoyed this Simsie , thank you! Would love for you to do an expansion and game pack one! (And stuff packs even though we haven’t got one in forever)
They still need to make a counter cabinet kit set! That’s what I think we really need!
The desert lux couch is really cute tho... It makes the kit!
I am impossibly obsessed with CAS because I am a fashion lover, so I bought the Fitness Throwback kit because the CAS items were so nice. I bought both fitness DLCs because I really like athletic CAS items.
I love watching your videos, it's relaxing
Industrial Loft Kit matches Mosquino, the controversial window, Werewolves and Get to Work. Of course it is PERFECT for cafes, so that makes it even better with Get Together.
I used the Decor to the Max for a Kims Appartment Renovation and it looks awesome. It is soo good for true snops, especially the black swatches :)
Keep in mind, some kits have content that would otherwise be locked behind packs such as the back yard projector in the Kids Backyard Camping one
Yes! I literally thought I was the only one who wasn’t too enthralled in the blooming rooms kit.
Yes, there are cute items and I especially love the hanging plants, but I feel this could have been way way better. I’d recommend it, totally, because it’s not terrible, however it’s also not that amazing and I think doesn’t qualify having any giddy legs over.
I bought the pastel pop kit because of you and it’s definitely my all time favorite
I didn't realise it until you said it, but I've also only used that one wallpaper and flooring from the maximalist kit 😂 I really like the rug but it never really goes well in the kind of rooms I usually build
8:04 contrast that with me! i use the loft kit like all the time. i’m not always building traditional suburbans!! it just depends on what everyday gameplay looks like for you
and I oop...
@@MaskingSmileswhy!!
not you sending shade lol 😂😂
@@jjveal8564 i promise there was no intended shade!! pls!!! 😫😫 i can just see why she views the kit as one that isn’t for everyday use because she doesn’t really build in that style.
i love you for this!!!
I WAS ASKING FOR THIS JUST YESTERDAY!!!
I totally agree with the pastel kit. I absolutely LOVE the rugs and the couch, but the salt lamp sold me 😂
My most used kit by a long way is Incheon Arrivals. Then it will be pastel pop in second and indoor plants in third. I wish bust a dust worked, I have a Hoover but it never gets dusty
i honestly really like kits because they offer a wide range of styles
For the blooming rooms when I first got it I used the items everywhere but now I only use a few but I still love that one hanging plant lol
Also saving up for the new Kits lol I have the money I just dont wanna spend 10 more dollars lol
I can't believe it's almost a year since Everyday clutter and Pastel pop 😮
I love the categories!
Okay throwback fit kit is low key awesome it’s not my top favorite items but I use it constantly!!!
Bro i loveee the kit with the strawberry Icon its just so cuteee
Been on the fence about the Moonlight Chic kit but this might’ve convinced me lol
You are my favorite CZcamsr and twitch screamer ever thank you for your kind work keep it up
I didn't think I'd like the pastel pop kit since it's not really my style but I've been using it all over my builds since getting it, I especially love mixing it with the highschool years stuff for teen rooms. It's amazing!
Same I got it half expecting to not like it and I actually really love it and have been using it a ton.
Sims 4 Tea Party I think would make a good gameplay kit. Basically you would be buying the event plus build/buy items to make it successful.
I love the bust the dust kit. I love doing mundane every tasks in the sims lol.
I’m glad you are able to use the product you paid money for.
Decor to the max is my favorite and the first kit I actually bought. I also have incheon arrivals now, and I want to get the 2 new kits as well. There are a couple more I'd like to get eventually, but those 4 are the best to me so far.
I always use that chair from Pastel Pop. It's my favorite computer chair in the game now.
I would love to see bean bags or a pool or snooker table in a kit, but I am with you I love building, but I still get the kits as my kids play sims as well 😁😊❤
I’m obsessed with the plant tables 😅 and the plant curtain things
I love the decor to the Max kit. I use the items a lot. It is my style and it's super cute
This was a good video I really appreciate it and it’s hard for me to see everything in a kit( I just don’t take the time) I want to play the game and not spend hrs looking over stuff. I do have the two new ones and can’t wait till my baby is born( I age them up within hrs of them being born ) to make a cute room. Anyways thanks so much
You are appointment CZcams viewing every day at noon in my time zone! Don't worry about talking too much. I'm thinking about which packs to buy over the black Friday sale, so if you want to rerank anything else before then, I'm up for it!
i thought blooming rooms was gonna have pots and seeds and a ton of plant species, that way you could grow your own house plants and take care of them. it would just be a gameplay kit but with plants
I think I would Love an Artist Kit with all the different types of Supplies including an architect tables. It would be great for an art studio.
I love the bust the dust kit bc a dust bunny gave me a money tree seed once lol
I absolutely love Bust the Dust! It’s my favorite kit, but it’s completely broken in my game since High School Years! 😢
Like literally the house stays sparkling clean and dust no longer spawns at all.
I don’t even have high school years. I bought the kit two months ago. Used it once. Dust hasn’t accumulated in any game save since. Pissed.
kayla can you make a video ranking all the packs? or even just the expansion packs? i know youve already done one but we have had some new ones since then
I have all the kits (console player who can’t use cc so I get them all lol) and the ones I use the most are the industrial loft, the new pastel one, the clutter one, plant one, and the incheon arrivals one I love that one. The kids clothes one is pretty good too. Oh and little campers is cute. The rest I never use lol. Oh and I got dessert luxe for free so gotta say I do use that one a lot, like you said…those curtains 😍
A musical kit or stuff pack could be a fun gameplay option. An ideal being the ability to form a band...but just a few more instrument options would be cool.
HI!!
If you restarted your sims journey (as a non-CZcamsr), what expansion packs, stuff packs and kits would you get and in what order?
I really like the kid building stuff kits. I use Camping for my kids rooms, and Pastel Pop for my high schooler's rooms.
Shocked! I LOOOOOVE decor to the max, and I’m a minimalist! It is SO versatile!
Yes, some swatches are quite nice actually and the wainscoting is something that we’ve been missing. You can build some classy and glamorous stuff with Decor to the max but it can still be mature and toned down. Whereas Pastel Pop it’s too out there and wacky for me. Not hating Plumbella or anything, I really like her. I just don’t like this style.
@@tokidokisimmer1750 totally agree. The pastel pop items are beautifully made, but I absolutely detest that style of decor, and I wouldn’t spend a cent on the kit. I honestly have a hard time understanding why youtube simmers do these kinds of videos when style is so subjective.
Yes, the kits definitely add up and I have not gotten most of them but do plan on getting the Pastel Pop one and the clutter one. I've got maybe three others including the Luxe kit when it was free. I think some of them should have been free when it goes with things like a pack for children's stuff like Lil Campers, some of it should be free such as more clothes for children and I think more clothes for toddlers are needed as well as more hairstyles without needing mods because that's why people go to mods because they don't include enough in their stuff. And now that they will be supporting mods, I see more people than ever getting them so that might kill their sales a little for kits and stuff since the creators offer their stuff for free. So they can either include more stuff in their packs they charge $40 for and $20 or perhaps come out with packs that combine some of the kits. Plus when they come out with packs that cost $40, there should be more than 3 lots to play with. Right now I see them when Sims 5 finally releases as them charging even more for it so they'd better have some great content for them when they do. I have been getting kits according to what I get the most for the price and will use the most. I've been kind of leery of using certain mods because some of them cause my Sims not to be able to eat or cook and things with simple stuff like custom counters or wallpapers. There's another thing they need, more wallpapers and floors, especially carpets. Most of the carpets are hideous and I never use. lol
Kayla: The Sims is already really expensive
Me: The game is free now. 👁️👄👁️
YES we Need a updated pack Ranking Video!
I would love to see an expansion pack tier list video😊
I agree with most exept that I am OBSESSED with decor to the max. I have never bought a kit so fast and If I could only buy one kit it would definetly be that one. Just my style
Bust the Dust is my favorite kit! I love it
Thank you for this video I was literally just thinking about buying more kits and couldn't decide. Sims should pay you a commission.
Putting Pastel Pop in the iconic tier is bold given how new it is but I’m with you. I found that you can make an interesting Hollywood Hills streamer house with it and get famous/decor to the max/my first pet/HSY. I would fight you on the industrial loft kit. The kitchen lights, the living room set (and descriptions), the bicycle wall art. I’m gonna try to build a NY brownstone with that kit today
Totally!! Industrial loft has such good furniture. I even really like the bed. It kind of gives "west elm" which is a style we really didn't have in the sims. Like "more expensive than ikea but not like bespoke fancy stuff"
i think it might be recency bias or because it was made by friends of hers
@@Lari_A I mean maybe, but if you compare the style of the loft kit vs the pastel pop one it's pretty obvious that they're super different, and if she's saying that she loves the pastel style then it makes sense that the loft style might not appeal to her as much. Doesn't mean it's a bad kit or that the items are bad, just means that it's not her favorite and she doesn't get a lot of use out of it personally.
@@nellemellen oh i know! i was referring to OP saying the pastel kit just came out, I wasn’t even talking about the loft kit or anything!
@@Theater00jock I always figured they were just ripping off Restoration Hardware ;)
video idea ⭐ Kayla builds a house using items from every single pack! (including build kits, stuff packs, game packs and expansions) is it possible??
Man your two bottom rows are literally my top favorite kits
the plant kit had sooooo much potential, at 10:18 the plant at the top far right is shut a huge bulky object, when would we ever use that? all i want is plants for tables and big ones for the floor, not a huge object that is pretty much unusable.
the way bust the dust is my favorite kit
I use country kitchen literally all the time, they definitely knocked it out of the park with that kit
I just got sims 4 and I’d love an update ranking for packs 😊
