    I will always be annoyed by the Country Kitchen Kit, because the idea of kits was to "add items that just didn't belong in a bigger pack", and yet the Country Kitchen Kit came out just weeks before the trailer for Cottage Living. It so much feels like the took the set of assets that they chose not to put in the expansion, and polished it enough to put out as a kit. Had the CL expansion been known about, I doubt many people would have bought the kit, but at the time it was an aesthetic that we just didn't really have. It almost immediately put the lie to kits being items that wouldn't fit in a bigger pack, and for me, that lie is what has soured my attitude to kits, far more than anything else.

      I wound up buying the country kitchen kit for my birthday, well after cottage living dropped, because I was enamored with it. The frustration is that the country kitchen swatches don't really *go" with anything else. I love the apron sink, but the kit isn't really as usable as I was really hoping it to.

      I bought country kitchen kit after I already had a cottage living, but i like when things match together well. However, I just like all the country things.

    I totally agree about the kit bundles, I wish that was an option. I’d totally get 3 for $10, but I really can’t justify $5 each. Or even adding a kit option to the bundle where you can get 1 expansion, 1 game pack, and 1 stuff pack. Toss a kit in there for another $2 and I’d probably get one the next time I splurge on DLC.

    I personally LOVE the "Decor to the Max" kit I just wish people would understand that maximalism isn't just vibrant colors. You can have a completely neutral space/style and still be very "busy". Textures, patterns, layering etc. can be very maximalist depending on how it's styled. I wishes they focused more on those aspects.

      I think for simsie's reviews you better wait until some times passes to take her reviews seriously. She is always very excited about new items and packs, and I am not meaning it in "she is just promoting this for the sims team" way. She is just generally a pretty emotional person, so it makes sense to get excited about something new (I am the same here lol). But when the time passes, that's when it's obvious what you really liked and what was exciting just because it was new, so I am really happy she is doing such kind of rankings after some time passes.

    I don't love kits but I don't hate them. It's to EA's advantage to encourage players to buy every kit, but I actually like how niche they are. Some of the kits simsie dislikes are ones I use all the time, like blooming rooms and the loft kit. You really can pick and choose what you like, and most of the build kits in particular are a lot higher quality than a lot of the early stuff packs, despite lacking gameplay. They're still a worse deal content wise but if the items are higher quality and more desirable, they're gonna be more useful to players anyways. I hope they keep the quality up and don't make another bathroom clutter kit. That being said, I prefer any kit to the Sims 3 store. The Sims 4 is definitely scamming with these packs but sometimes I feel like we've forgotten just how bad it can be 😂😭

    Aside from the must have tier, my opinions are basically Kayla's flipped
    I use everyday clutter and basement treasures in literally every build I make- Actually obsessed with that half open cartboard box from basement treasures lmao- also the chairs/couches from industrial loft are sooooo nice

    i just started playing with the free base game with my sister(also no multiplayer after x years?), and everytime we come up with an idea of what we want to do with our sims a dlc we need to buy shows up. i want to play a potion maker that makes money? supernatural and get to work, or city living for the come and get it table, 40 bucks to sell my potions to sims. if you want to enjoy sims then we have to pay almost 4 digits, also i love your videos and inspiration for builds i feel when i see you build. youtubers keep this franchise alive inspite of itself

    Some of these would be in different places for me, also remember that the Desert Lux kit was the 1st to have curtains and a separate rod to allow Simmers to choose the size of the curtains. It is good to see how Simzies views change as well and how she rates the more recent kits, that is helpful for those who aren't sure what to get.

  • @kins5768
    @kins5768 Před 8 měsíci

    i feel like those kits being different colors are essentially because the outdoor kids kit is more for gameplay/buy mode and the bust the dust is gameplay, where as the others have more build items for specific aesthetics of building. they definitely could have gone with a more similar color to the others though, rather than bright green and blue

    my unpopular build/buy opinion is that i would be just fine if kitchen counters came with less pieces if we got more deco items instead. like realistically, how often do you actually use anything except the default+corner pieces? this goes double for the cabinets. all i need is the default, corner, and “over the fridge” pieces to be content

    What I would love to see in a CAS kit video is maybe your own collab with a Simmer/Simmers who spend some time in CAS, so you can have someone make the case for (or against) each entry.

    I love my decor to the max lol it adds some personality to my sim's rooms, but it is a v specific style. I've found that my sims are either a decor to the max or a pastel pop sim if they're not cottage living. I have a niche lol. I use the everyday clutter with all styles tho omg so worth it.

  • @erinlafave3438

    What they need is mounted microwaves, cars that you can use, artwork that people would want to use, basically better decorations, better choices of bedding, mirrors for bathrooms that are bigger and fill more of the wall, and I forget what else I was thinking. They could do more for this game to make it less boring at times. Especially for home decorator.

    I feel like Basement Treasures would benefit from a "throwback" kit that had unbroken versions of those items. I get a small nostalgia hit from that standup lamp because we had one when i was growing up and is almost tempting enough to get the kit just for that.
