grunge revival is my absolute favorite kit, I love cas and we never have enough alternative styles in this game. everything's either very basic or very bright or both. plus, grunge is probably as close as we'll get to punk, so now my simself can now look more like me! I just wish we had more diverse styles in the sims in general, or even a few "grunge" hairstyles like a side shave or purposefully messy

Yes and even though I get that some people are feel like werewolves serves the purpose if you’re not into supernatural Sims I think this kid is a good alternative. Incheon Arrivals I genuinely use on almost every single one of my sims. It has the best sneakers, best dress pants, and best sweatshirt in the whole game
Kayla is right about stuff packs tbh. I like home chef hustle and paranormal but I'd say the stuff pack I get the most use out of by FAR is tiny living. The build/buy/CAS assets are all cute and useable and I get SO much use out of the gameplay of living in tiny houses. They're a fun challenge to build and live in especially with a family and the buffs you get are a really nice reward
Tiny Living gives soooo much content. The tiny home trait is incredibly broken for gameplay, and while the items are obviously really good for small spaces, they just look good and fit in so many houses in general. Like the big shelf that combines the stereo/TV/bookshelf--it's appropriate for a ton of houses, not just tiny ones! Or that bathroom shelf, I use that all the time.
I love how they collaborated with Brazilian drag queen Pabllo Vittar to make the Carnival Streetwear Kit, it just made so much sense and my queen knows about Brazilian Carnival better than anyone else!!💛🇧🇷
Honestly I was really glad when we got the grunge revival kit because I’ve dressed alternatively irl. I also use the first fits kit in like every save where I’ve had a kid sim. Those are definitely my favorite cas kits. I do kinda like that they have some smaller niche things that we can get but also sometimes $5 for just a handful of items feels not worth it unless I really like and would use the items in an every day kind of gameplay.
the fashion street kit was one of the free kits from the epic games bundle. i thought it was so random and that i would never use it. but now i actually really like it? my favorite items are the tank top with the big arm holes, and the baggy shorts. just really fun items for masculine framed sims.

Maybe you like the style of the CAS in that pack but don't have the $$ for that pack or don't want actual werewolves. That is where the grunge kit comes in handy. It's cheaper and gives you that style you're looking for. I know the argument is that its expensive for what you get but some people only have $5 to spare so its helpful in that sense.

I love Simtimates, my sims dont leave their lot a lot so they walk around in pjamas a lot. all the old underwear i was tired of and was so base game feeling
The fashion street kit I got I think with a free bundle but I honestly LOVE it. I made a few Indian sims and I loved going all out on the accessories and stuff.
I tried making a base game sim with Desi culture in mind and it was almost impossoble😢 I wish some of these items were available for everyone but I’m glad the kit does exist because it has some extra cute items that are worth the $5 for me

Menswear isn't worth buying...I'm mad that I got it thinking I was gonna get cool men's pieces. The MeUndies collab kit, I actually like. I use their stuff a lot in my games. The Grunge Revival kit is a MUST have!! I love that kit!!!
I use grunge revival and moonlight chic an obnoxious amount. Probably because they most closely resemble my own style, and its hard to detach my personal style from my sims. I also use poolside splash a lot because i hate all the basegame swimwear 😂. That being said, I'd love to see more grunge/punk/goth fashion in the game. I know vampires is gothic inspired, but its very old fashioned gothic, whereas I really want a more modern goth pack. Not to mention, dont get me started on how badly I want a Y2K themed pack..
Kits have such little content, like you can get an expansion pack for around $15 from 3rd party sellers (or even $20 from EA on sale which happens really often) and you get like 10 times the content. I really wish they came with maybe 100 items or so, as that would make them a lot more worthwhile

I'm watching this and also watched the build kit ranking video, and making a list of kits I want and kits I mayyyybe want. When you were talking about the First Fits kit, I put it in "Maybe" until you showed off the backpack - for that one item alone, it was the first CAS pack that went into NEED lmao, tops with backpacks are so cuteeeeeee 😭😭
My issue is that most of the cas kits either should have been in other packs (like grunge in Highschool or werewolf, Heck the Indian inspired kit would have been perfect for city living!) or basegame updates (swimwear and underwear, Incheon arrival)
I love the simtimates collection!! I mainly use it for boujee-er sims or to mix and match the underwear pieces with t-shirts or pj trousers to make my sims a little more cute and casual
Since I found The Sims this May, I've been trying to get the packs and kits as best as I can. I was about to buy some packs and a kit when I saw this episode had popped up. I had to watch it first. I had literally put 🇰🇷 Incheon Arrivals (as a flightsimmer as well, that should've been easy for me to write already but oh well) to the cart as my first kit. 😅
I would love to see a pack ranking video (no kits) based purely on functionality. Not, do you like the aesthetic,but does it have something for every room. Does it have items that meet all the sims needs? Can you make a functional bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, living room. Ranking levels: Mansion: meets all needs, plus wallpaper, flooring, lighting, windows, and doors. Starter Home: it makes a functional home, but is missing one or more wallpaper, flooring, lighting, windows doors. Rags to riches: it is technically functional (maybe you have a public toilet or a bush, but no real toilet. Or a grill but no oven, or a cooler instead of a fridge, or a couch but no bed etc) Touch of base (does not meet one sim need e.g. cottage living has no toilet) Turn up the base : 2 or 3 needs can't be met from the pack alone All about the base: means you can't met more than 3 needs. Social can either be ignored, or counted as CAS/a way to access CAS

the grunge revial kit is the only CAS kit I have ever bought and I love it! I use those items more than anything! With that being said, it's probally because I don't have wearwolfes. I'm not really interested in wearwolfes tho, and never have been, but always thought the CAS from that pack was some of the coolest CAS in the game. So, in my opionon, it's actully really nice to have a kit that is similar in style to a big pack, but without the gameplay, because people like me, who don't care for the gameplay but love the style is able to get it:)
I’d love to see a ranking video of all the major base game updates. Sometimes the base game updates that came along side expansion packs were more exciting and more impactful than the actual expansion packs.
There's maybe two items from the Modern Menswear kits that I use occasionally for male sims. I actually find I use it more with androgynous presenting female or enby sims, but even then, it's pretty rare.

I agree with everything except for your opinion on the grunge revival kit. I do agree that the clothing is very similar to the werewolves pack but I don't want to buy the werewolves pack just for the clothes because I personally don't want werewolves in my game.
as someone who uses cc religiously. i just can’t justify buying a cas stuff pack when i can get just as good stuff (if not better) through independent creators for free or for a few dollars.
the grunge kit is completely different from the werewolf pack! i use all the items frequently, i have to stop myself from using it for sims that have the opposite aesthetic just cause i love it so much. my only issues are that i wish there was more stuff like it, and a lot of it isn't actaully that grungey, more like urban outfitters stuff lol but still cute. i like cas items that aren't so polished and that look a bit worn-in, wrinkly, frayed, like something that's been owned and worn frequently for a while. i also like pieces that look thrifted and unique! i can never seem to find enough of the rare cas and cc clothes that actually look like clothes i can afford and like to wear. and layered stuff too!
I would argue that literally the only CAS kit that is needed (and I'm pretty sure the only one I own) is the first fits kit. I have my sims kids in those clothes ALL the time. 🙈 they are just so nice compared to other kids stuff!
I haven’t bought any, the price is just pretty drastic for the content. But I also haven’t really liked at them and I really liked the carnaval and grunge kits, so thanks for showing us on sims as well as on the menu!
Other than the debate of "Should Horse Ranch have been a game pack" I can't really complain about no game pack when we're getting 3 expansion packs 🤷♀️. Always interesting to hear your take and you aren't far off my own thoughts
i really like the grunge kit a lot. the carnival one i like for adding some fun to my sims wardrobe. the swimwear and moonlight chic are fine. and the underwear was ok but i wasnt excited. i dont own any of the others.
I got Throwback Fit, not sure why, it's cute enough, but eh. But Grunge Revival is the only other CAS kit I've bought. Absolute favorite. I do want the kids one, though...
It's funny, just as you said, the style of each one greatly affects what you think of each pack, in general I think very similar to Lilsimsie, for some reason I haven't bought any of them except for one... the grunge one, I bought it the same day as It came out and it's the only one really care.
I got 7/10 of them already so I just like to see your opinion on the one I don't have vs what I already bought(also for the throwback kit, I got it for free, so I spend on the other 6, which still $30 but hey, free stuff.)
I can't believe the grunge revival and simtimates didn't rank higher, 'cause I use those propably the most! xD the modern menswear might be the only cas kit I don't have and I think that says it all :DDD I love cas kits that have very "mundane" clothes, as in cothes for everyday use as well as stuff for the most common events in the sims, like fancy dresses etc. For example my sims don't really got to the Carnevale often (more like never) xD
I like the kits personally. I like having the option of getting smaller, more niche items, and considering they’re split into build/buy and cas separately, you don’t have to get the ones/stuff you don’t want ☺️👌🏼 they come to like $8CAD , which is a couple of coffees and definitely worth it to me personally. I see why people would prefer them to be cheaper, and I agree, but I’m still happy with the cost of these compared to the other types of packs
I reaaally hope the Gothic kit comes with a nice kilt for male sims! I feel like kilts are quite popular in goth fashion (or at least have been), so I hope they pick up on that. Also, I kinda get the feeling that the Country Kitchen and Grunge Revival kits might have been assets (or concepts) that were made for Cottage Living and Werewolves respectively, but were scrapped because they had to many items and but the Sims team liked them so they wanted to release them anyway. I have no idea if that is actually the case, but it make sense to me 😅 The Grunge Revival is the only cas kit I have because I use cc, but I think that it is really good! It's a nice alternative for people who want the aesthetic but don't want werewolves, plus the werewolf items all have wolf-themed patterns, which is fine but I don't want it on every grungy sim.
Can you please make a new video with ranking game expansions and game packs! As most things going on sale due to Halloween/black friday/Christmas, I am sure people would appreciate a fresh look at all packs prior to buying. Thank you in advance! 🙏💜
I think the only good thing about the kits that feel like they fit into other existing packs makes that style available for people that maybe couldn’t afford to buy the more expensive packs.
I use the underwear in rags to riches and runaway stories as swimsuit and alternate cause they don’t have anything else they have very limited items until they get money for more clothes still not one I’d recommend to people but that’s how I use it
For me how I play is different in every game, in Sims 2 I like to play rotational with the premades and work around the existing sims and buildings, in Sims 4 I like to build and dress up sims and the gameplay gets boring quickly, not to mention the awful lagging, and I suppose Sims 3 is the only one where I actually like both making the sims, building them a home, and playing with them. Although the real reason I like to play the premades in 2 is probably that I suck at TS2 CAS... like, I don’t have much CAS CC because I just don't care too much, mostly just replacement eyes and some non everyday separates (the mod to do that does require a custom launcher, but it's perfectly safe and offers some other fun features like lighting adjustments and being able to tell your Discord friends that you're playing Sims 2, personally I like being able to adjust the cost of the design tool, TS3 was my first and having to pay to alter the colors of something never really felt okay to me.)
Random idea for a wheel spin build challenge. One wheel has room type and the other wheel has the CAS kit. The challenge is to make a room inspired by the vibe of the kit

i love kits, kits allow me (no money, always broke) to access content for my favourite game. I can afford $8 every so often, more than i can afford $60 in a lump sum.. so.. kinda frustrating that people keep hating on it, especially for the price.

The Incheon Arrivals, Moonlight Chic and Grunge Revival are one of the best CAS kits that actually worth buying, I use them all the time.

Moonlight chic has two of the best CAS items offered by EA - that strappy dress you showed, and the sneakers.

That's not the only oversized hoodie. There's a base game oversized hoodie that was added on a patch around HSY's release as well.
Also in growing together or 1-2 slightly oversized ones in university

I'm watching this and also watched the build kit ranking video, and making a list of kits I want and kits I mayyyybe want. When you were talking about the First Fits kit, I put it in "Maybe" until you showed off the backpack - for that one item alone, it was the first CAS pack that went into NEED lmao, tops with backpacks are so cuteeeeeee 😭😭
My issue is that most of the cas kits either should have been in other packs (like grunge in Highschool or werewolf, Heck the Indian inspired kit would have been perfect for city living!) or basegame updates (swimwear and underwear, Incheon arrival)
I love the simtimates collection!! I mainly use it for boujee-er sims or to mix and match the underwear pieces with t-shirts or pj trousers to make my sims a little more cute and casual
I use the moonlight chic fluffy jumper all the time, the pink is so cute 😂
Modern Menswear has big David Rose from Schitts Creek vibes though.

Since I found The Sims this May, I've been trying to get the packs and kits as best as I can. I was about to buy some packs and a kit when I saw this episode had popped up. I had to watch it first. I had literally put 🇰🇷 Incheon Arrivals (as a flightsimmer as well, that should've been easy for me to write already but oh well) to the cart as my first kit. 😅
I would love to see a pack ranking video (no kits) based purely on functionality. Not, do you like the aesthetic,but does it have something for every room.
Does it have items that meet all the sims needs? Can you make a functional bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, living room.
Ranking levels:
Mansion: meets all needs, plus wallpaper, flooring, lighting, windows, and doors.
Starter Home: it makes a functional home, but is missing one or more wallpaper, flooring, lighting, windows doors.
Rags to riches: it is technically functional (maybe you have a public toilet or a bush, but no real toilet. Or a grill but no oven, or a cooler instead of a fridge, or a couch but no bed etc)
Touch of base (does not meet one sim need e.g. cottage living has no toilet)
Turn up the base : 2 or 3 needs can't be met from the pack alone
All about the base: means you can't met more than 3 needs.
Social can either be ignored, or counted as CAS/a way to access CAS
I completely agree with the must have tier, except I would put Grunge Revival there too. I love more alt fashion styles and it helped fill that gap for me❤

the grunge revial kit is the only CAS kit I have ever bought and I love it! I use those items more than anything! With that being said, it's probally because I don't have wearwolfes. I'm not really interested in wearwolfes tho, and never have been, but always thought the CAS from that pack was some of the coolest CAS in the game. So, in my opionon, it's actully really nice to have a kit that is similar in style to a big pack, but without the gameplay, because people like me, who don't care for the gameplay but love the style is able to get it:)

I’d love to see a ranking video of all the major base game updates. Sometimes the base game updates that came along side expansion packs were more exciting and more impactful than the actual expansion packs.
There's maybe two items from the Modern Menswear kits that I use occasionally for male sims. I actually find I use it more with androgynous presenting female or enby sims, but even then, it's pretty rare.
Incheon arrivals, grunge revivals, and first fits kit are my favs!
grunge revival is the only cas kit i've bought the stuff in it are sooo cute, i also want incheon arrivals at some point
i use the grunge revival kit constantly but i also use the werewolf pack constantly so those might be correlated

I agree with everything except for your opinion on the grunge revival kit. I do agree that the clothing is very similar to the werewolves pack but I don't want to buy the werewolves pack just for the clothes because I personally don't want werewolves in my game.

as someone who uses cc religiously. i just can’t justify buying a cas stuff pack when i can get just as good stuff (if not better) through independent creators for free or for a few dollars.

the grunge kit is completely different from the werewolf pack! i use all the items frequently, i have to stop myself from using it for sims that have the opposite aesthetic just cause i love it so much. my only issues are that i wish there was more stuff like it, and a lot of it isn't actaully that grungey, more like urban outfitters stuff lol but still cute. i like cas items that aren't so polished and that look a bit worn-in, wrinkly, frayed, like something that's been owned and worn frequently for a while. i also like pieces that look thrifted and unique! i can never seem to find enough of the rare cas and cc clothes that actually look like clothes i can afford and like to wear. and layered stuff too!
I would argue that literally the only CAS kit that is needed (and I'm pretty sure the only one I own) is the first fits kit. I have my sims kids in those clothes ALL the time. 🙈 they are just so nice compared to other kids stuff!
My favorite are the Incheon Arrivals kit and the Grundge Revival kit

Other than the debate of "Should Horse Ranch have been a game pack" I can't really complain about no game pack when we're getting 3 expansion packs 🤷♀️. Always interesting to hear your take and you aren't far off my own thoughts
i really like the grunge kit a lot. the carnival one i like for adding some fun to my sims wardrobe. the swimwear and moonlight chic are fine. and the underwear was ok but i wasnt excited. i dont own any of the others.
One thing that bothers me a little about kits is that you can find cc packs with much more content and most of the time, for free
I got Throwback Fit, not sure why, it's cute enough, but eh. But Grunge Revival is the only other CAS kit I've bought. Absolute favorite. I do want the kids one, though...

It's funny, just as you said, the style of each one greatly affects what you think of each pack, in general I think very similar to Lilsimsie, for some reason I haven't bought any of them except for one... the grunge one, I bought it the same day as It came out and it's the only one really care.
I like simtimates tho.. my sim looks cute in it and sits in the kitchen wearing it to eat breakfast.

I can't believe the grunge revival and simtimates didn't rank higher, 'cause I use those propably the most! xD the modern menswear might be the only cas kit I don't have and I think that says it all :DDD I love cas kits that have very "mundane" clothes, as in cothes for everyday use as well as stuff for the most common events in the sims, like fancy dresses etc. For example my sims don't really got to the Carnevale often (more like never) xD
I like the kits personally. I like having the option of getting smaller, more niche items, and considering they’re split into build/buy and cas separately, you don’t have to get the ones/stuff you don’t want ☺️👌🏼 they come to like $8CAD , which is a couple of coffees and definitely worth it to me personally. I see why people would prefer them to be cheaper, and I agree, but I’m still happy with the cost of these compared to the other types of packs
I reaaally hope the Gothic kit comes with a nice kilt for male sims! I feel like kilts are quite popular in goth fashion (or at least have been), so I hope they pick up on that.
Also, I kinda get the feeling that the Country Kitchen and Grunge Revival kits might have been assets (or concepts) that were made for Cottage Living and Werewolves respectively, but were scrapped because they had to many items and but the Sims team liked them so they wanted to release them anyway. I have no idea if that is actually the case, but it make sense to me 😅 The Grunge Revival is the only cas kit I have because I use cc, but I think that it is really good! It's a nice alternative for people who want the aesthetic but don't want werewolves, plus the werewolf items all have wolf-themed patterns, which is fine but I don't want it on every grungy sim.

I think the only good thing about the kits that feel like they fit into other existing packs makes that style available for people that maybe couldn’t afford to buy the more expensive packs.
I use the underwear in rags to riches and runaway stories as swimsuit and alternate cause they don’t have anything else they have very limited items until they get money for more clothes
still not one I’d recommend to people but that’s how I use it

for those of us who don't have or want werewolves, grunge revival is AMAZING
For me how I play is different in every game, in Sims 2 I like to play rotational with the premades and work around the existing sims and buildings, in Sims 4 I like to build and dress up sims and the gameplay gets boring quickly, not to mention the awful lagging, and I suppose Sims 3 is the only one where I actually like both making the sims, building them a home, and playing with them. Although the real reason I like to play the premades in 2 is probably that I suck at TS2 CAS... like, I don’t have much CAS CC because I just don't care too much, mostly just replacement eyes and some non everyday separates (the mod to do that does require a custom launcher, but it's perfectly safe and offers some other fun features like lighting adjustments and being able to tell your Discord friends that you're playing Sims 2, personally I like being able to adjust the cost of the design tool, TS3 was my first and having to pay to alter the colors of something never really felt okay to me.)
Random idea for a wheel spin build challenge. One wheel has room type and the other wheel has the CAS kit. The challenge is to make a room inspired by the vibe of the kit

i love kits, kits allow me (no money, always broke) to access content for my favourite game. I can afford $8 every so often, more than i can afford $60 in a lump sum.. so..
kinda frustrating that people keep hating on it, especially for the price.
