@@Ghastropoda I'm not saying I disagree with you, but I feel like the reason is because the Sims team is based in North America. EA is a North American/USA based company. Of course they're gonna base it on their own country. If it was a, let's say, a British company, the Sims base world would be based on British traditions and houses. Same thing if it was a Japanese company or a Nigerian company. Now, I'm not saying that they're right for doing that. They definitely could have made the base world more inclusive and more culture-neutral, but I'm not gonna blame them for making the Sims base world based on their own country. I mean I would base my game on my own country to be honest.

heres the thing: i really like this kit. it has beautiful items and my culture is being represented. but i wont buy it, cause its ridiculously expensive.
its five dollars, but in reais(brazil's currency) its 30 bucks. ea's games are expensive everywhere but here in brazil its a litte bit worse; for example, expansion packs are more expensive than the ACTUAL GAME. base game= R$160 expansion packs: R$200. and the minimum wage in brazil is R$1.200 per month. which is definitely not much bc 2 pounds of meat is 45 reais. 1 single liter of gasoline its 7. rent is at least 500, a really bad place
but i know this isnt a problem with the kit itself, it is a problem with EA in general

So far I personally haven't gotten a piece that made me do a fangirl "EEEEE!!", but I did have very _few_ packs for Sims 1--so maybe the things I've gotten from dumpster-diving, other oldschool players WOULD recognise. I've seen _custom_ content where people forwards-compatibility items from as much as two games earlier, such as the Sims 1 vinyl record player stereo in Sims 3 (complete with Create a Style compatibility!) and the entire Sims 2 Ikea pack in Sims 4 (and also BACKWARDS ones, such as a Sims 3 swimsuit I was putting on my Sims 2 characters for a while) so such things ARE possible.

The feminine tops have those weird bumps in the back when put on masculine framed Sims because feminine framed Sims by default have a kind of exaggerated dip in the back and the top is meant to be a loose top that doesn't follow the contour of the dip. And clothes are meshed to fit to the body by relative position, so on feminine framed Sims that part of the mesh being further out from that part of the back works and ends up making the top flatter on the back, but on masculine framed Sims who generally have a flatter back, that part of the top being further out just makes a bump. I think if EA has the gall to charge $5 for a fashion kit, every single detail on the clothes should be perfect. Each item should work on every frame (not just masc/femme, but fat and skinny, large and small chest) and the textures should be perfect. 3D features on design should actually be 3D in the game instead of just flat. I don't inherently have a problem with them making kits, but if you're going to charge that much for so little content, it should be of a certain quality.

The way Carnaval has been described in the comments makes it seem very similar to the way pride is celebrated in a lot of places; where I live we have a Pride Week with lots of different events and by the end of the week there's a parade. I can't really imagine having more than one event like that in a year but Swedish culture is very subdued so Pride Week is quite an anomaly here. If you do celebrate pride, how is it different from Carnaval?

@@char1211 hello! We do celebrate pride, São Paulo Pride Parade is the biggest pride parade in the world (if I'm not mistaken). It's totally different from carnaval. While the Pride Parade is limited to São Paulo, Carnaval happens in all the cities, all over the country (for a week). We do have the Carnaval Parade that happens in Rio de Janeiro (this is the famous one, with the allegorical cars etc), but that is different from the street-party celebrations. During Carnaval, people put on costumes, colorfull clothes and lots of glitter. Meanwhile on the Pride they march, and has concerts, it is somewhat like a festival.

I’m just wondering how you would add a drag queen. Because drag queens typically only dress up when they have events and just wear regular clothes during most of the time. So you just set the drag queen outfit as the party outfit? I don’t think it would really change how you’re playing.

He wears women's jeans and womens tshirts during the day as casual clothes which doesn't really look that much different than men's jeans and tshirts until you look at the details such as a kitten on the tshirt. A lot of women wear minimal to no make up during the day, I'm the none and my friend is the minimal. My friend, by the way is not gay, he just likes to be pretty. However, HIS best friend is gay and full on drag, he wears dresses and make up continually, just not as outrageously during the day. I was considering buying this, mostly because I was hoping that all of the items would fit both body frames. Maybe if they fix the skirt height & weird back bump issues.

Same same regarding paying for CAS kits. There’s so much CAS in game from all the packs I already feel pretty overwhelmed by it and if I want additional CAS I can get CC.

I feel so bad that i actually like kits xc Not all of em but i can totally see the use for them. Like people who don't have money for packs can buy kits to get some more plants or prettier clothes. I'm always wondering if i'm the only one who feels this way bc everyone seems to hate them

Same! I think it's a great option for people that may be super into plants for example.. And not everybody has to buy them, I don't get why people are so mad... The only problem is the price, if it were cheaper it would be a lot better obviously
