You guys managed to go fast while still being smart and relatively safe about it. Thank you for this great video. I've been to the gap before and I'll return next summer. I haven't found anything that beats that area for riding.
What makes this video fun, is to see your speed displayed and know that the car is doing virtually the same speed the whole time. I am certainly impressed. Have you EVER followed someone of four wheels thru the dragon at those speeds before this guy?
Gotta say boys, that Benz took both yall to school!!! Great video ...enjoyed the giggles of you having to see tail lights the whole time.....i ride as well, and have been behind some cars that make me go WHOA..what just happened?? LMAO
One of the better flowing videos I have seen of the gap. Good riding. Nice to see someone staying in their limits and riding the shit out of the dragon. Watching most of these kooks videos makes me want to shiver. I added this one to my favorites.
That's funny, most people say the opposite. I used to use a helmet cam but people didn't like it. They want to be able to see the bike leaning, and felt the constant moving of the helmet cam got them sick.
I am confident that yes, MPH is displayed. I rode right seat in a Mercedes SLK55 over the weekend, we hit speeds of 85 at times and he took most curves above 40, some above 55. It CAN be done on four wheels, but it takes a very good driver, the right car, and the right tires.
lulz - I liked the "curvey road" sign. Like, "No shit," right? Anyhow, that looked like fun. And I gotta say, that AMG driver was throwin' that car around pretty good.
When did you film this, 4am in the middle of winter?! It's a video of Deal's Gap without a single squid or clueless idiot in sight! Extremely impressive driving on the AMG's part.
That car was gettin it! If I was on my bike I probably wouldn't pass that car eather. I tend to push myself to hard in those situation. To give u a clue, my bike will do 205mph. Great video guys. Keep it shiny side up.
Dang - I wish the vid was clearer - that ride was awesome. Glad everyone is safe. Great riding IMO. I just ride a 650R - no way would it get close to zx6r and all that power and handling. I have a 2006 SLK350 with AMG package that runs pretty sweet - but nowhere near the power of the v8 AMG. That was some very good driving for a cage. If I were in my slk350 on The Dragon and some ninjas came up on me - I'd let 'em pass. LOL Ninjas are sweet rides.
@505197 more then likely a bigger sprocket. Makes the speedometer show faster speed then he's actually going. Another possible sign is by judging the ease of which he popped the motorcycle up at the beginning.
When we went down my buddy's dad had a M3 pull over for him........................................he was in his Toyota Tundra!! I don't know how he didn't end up with that thing at the bottom of the gap.
Great footage, btw, it's a C55, not a CL55. Great driving and riding nonetheless, but I was surprised the whole time thinking how such a big ass CL would be giving you guys such a problem, especially since you guys were goin at a pretty good pace, C55 a much faster car through the corners than a CL though.
LOL, i just went through the comments on this, for the record there was no way in hell i'm passing a car on the outside or inside on the dragon, thats asking for death & if you pay attn you'll see my brakelight come on quite a bit so i don't rear end the kid. The guy was an excellent driver & to the individual that says he's faster than us, we should BOTH be at Road America this year OR any big track around the US & i'm gaaaaaaaaaame ;)
@amyntage its called a clutch-up. has nothing to do with the sprocket. if you listen you can hear it when he pulls it up. however they are more than likely running -1/+2 sprockets as is most every sportbike guy which throws off an already bad factory speedo read to a absolute horrible read.
@rlclark50 You are correct; I should have been more careful with my wording. If you mount a regular camera on your helmet, it is never quite pointed in the right direction, you have to heep thinking about the orientation of the camera: it is distracting. (I have tried it) When most riders go into a tuck, ie exiting a turn, they tend point their helmet more down than when they sit up for braking, etc. I think the helmet cams that work are gyro cams, so they point in the direction of travel.
@rlclark50 Riders on sportbikes generally do not keep thier heads oriented with the horizon, they tend to point their heads toward the tank while looking forward with their eyes when exiting a turn and going down a straight. There would bee too much movement and you wouldn't get a sense cornering with a helmet cam.
If you didn't squirm around on the bike you wouldn't scrape your knees in every corner. And your key ring is slowing you down, it's not aerodynamic at all. Get one that says BMW on it, they're the best.
505197 The speedo must be on KPH, I don't believe anyone is hittin 90, especially the Benz. Uhhh, NO! In the beginning after the wheel comes back down (0:18) the speedo is clear, it's MPH.
good times, but jesus christ, down shift man! hahahaha its not a twin! even if you're not smashing, i'd still try to stay in the powerband a little more... Good times though, and truthfully you're riding at about the same pace i usually do
um have you every heard of the 1995 cobra r or 1993 cobra r, they were specially made for the track. Also the new boss 302's are track ready, hence laguna seca boss 302.
Ohhh poor guys, even me with my 600 Hornet could send the AMG to the past... Brazilian riders are the most dangerous riders, call us for a teacher... and claps for the AMG driver...
@TheSly0321 the trick to not get sick is to folow the movement as if you were riding the bike, that is turn head to side of the corner they are doing, if you stil get sick then you need to see a doctor or avoid totaly this videos.
not really. mustangs handle really good, even better than irs cars like the camaro and others. the only thing it can't handle is a bump in a corner, really gets the rear end out
It is amazing how fast the right car and driver can handle the Tail...I've seen some sport car drivers who were faster than any bikes on that road, simply because of how fast the L/R switching is some cars can leave bikes behind. While that Benz is quick there are better handling cars for the Dragon. Nice riding, btw!
compared to what? you in your POS ride in a straight away! anyone can push the vehicle in question to top speeds, the question is can you do that with other variations like turns, and topography ...your're probably one of those people who also says that Nascar is racing!
Beautiful!
Skilful riding from the Ninjas- fast & smooth.
Lovely video lads!
You guys managed to go fast while still being smart and relatively safe about it. Thank you for this great video. I've been to the gap before and I'll return next summer. I haven't found anything that beats that area for riding.
Well that's about 6 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
Cool video man. Really good. The road seems perfect for riding too. Curves and curves and curves...
What makes this video fun, is to see your speed displayed and know that the car is doing virtually the same speed the whole time. I am certainly impressed. Have you EVER followed someone of four wheels thru the dragon at those speeds before this guy?
The AMG driver was good!! Cool video guys!!
Greenman skills are sweet ;).......oh how I'd love that ride
Superb video on the bikes and the Benz, I think I will watch it 7 more tomes
nice little chase man!!! that AMG just doesn't want to ease up.;-)
nice riding , those roads look beast.
Gotta say boys, that Benz took both yall to school!!! Great video ...enjoyed the giggles of you having to see tail lights the whole time.....i ride as well, and have been behind some cars that make me go WHOA..what just happened?? LMAO

Good thing you got on here and let everyone know huh?
You seem like a cool guy...
Great car and driver actually knowing what he's doing. Looking at the lean angles you lads weren't hangin about...
I ride a HD Deluxe cruiser and let the rocket boyz-n-gurlz have fun their way :) Good video, sweet Benz ride, too. Yes, on the C55.
That's funny, most people say the opposite. I used to use a helmet cam but people didn't like it. They want to be able to see the bike leaning, and felt the constant moving of the helmet cam got them sick.
starting getting sick at the 4 min mark. thats some dragon!
I am confident that yes, MPH is displayed. I rode right seat in a Mercedes SLK55 over the weekend, we hit speeds of 85 at times and he took most curves above 40, some above 55. It CAN be done on four wheels, but it takes a very good driver, the right car, and the right tires.

Nice lil positraction burnout at the end. Tells me this ride has some brass!
You're right, it's a C55. The CL wouldn't have been so fast for it's much heavier
All three drivers impress me. You guys are among the fastest bikers on the Dragon,..... to say nothing of the guy in the car.
Still faster than a mustang through those turns
nail it man good to watch
That is not "Chasing" an AMG... it is WAITING on an AMG to get out of the way!
bikes and cars dont play well together
cool video

It stands for ZOMG.
Future hood ornaments!
man watching this makes me want to go chase that kid again, i still can't believe he was on stock michelin tires
Way fun !! I tried to follow a dude up there that was in a Honda S 2000 silver ,he left my ass in the dust ,and I was on a SV track set up bike ..
the AMG pretty fast..
you guys have some skills I'm not sure if i want to get a motorcycle cuz I don't like the steep leans lol
@505197 more then likely a bigger sprocket. Makes the speedometer show faster speed then he's actually going. Another possible sign is by judging the ease of which he popped the motorcycle up at the beginning.
Cool up until the end.
I'd hate to ride 1000 miles to get stuck behind a line of door slammers doing 32.
When we went down my buddy's dad had a M3 pull over for him........................................he was in his Toyota Tundra!! I don't know how he didn't end up with that thing at the bottom of the gap.
The speedo must be on KPH, I don't believe anyone is hittin 90, especially the Benz.
Playing with him? It looks like he was eating your lunch.
Lol Nice riding Now can i have my Helmet back?
Nice riding
Ignorant squid
guys.... there are two other cars in front of the mustang... an accord seen at 5:10 and something in front of it
Benz driver was good...but he did get caught. I didn't see the Benz early in the video.
damn benz is mooovin...but just in joe's way haha
Great footage, btw, it's a C55, not a CL55. Here is an idea, put some tape over the mic so we don't have to hear the damn wind?
LOL, i just went through the comments on this, for the record there was no way in hell i'm passing a car on the outside or inside on the dragon, thats asking for death & if you pay attn you'll see my brakelight come on quite a bit so i don't rear end the kid. Playing with the Merc, huh? Did they know it? I dragged off a 911 the other day in my Getx. Trouble was they did not realise it.
those are some nice roads to ride...where is that?
ive decided to call this camera crotchcams because there at the right height for it
@amyntage its called a clutch-up. has nothing to do with the sprocket. if you listen you can hear it when he pulls it up. however they are more than likely running -1/+2 sprockets as is most every sportbike guy which throws off an already bad factory speedo read to a absolute horrible read.
@TheSly0321 i like how you can see the speed during the curves
Remember these are 600s too not liter bikes.
Looks like he wanted to go more too! what did you do after the video cut off?
@rlclark50 You are correct; I should have been more careful with my wording. That car would leave lot's of bikers behind.
True

Furlongs per fortnight.
Both bikes are green
good times, but jesus christ, down shift man! hahahaha its not a twin! even if you're not smashing, i'd still try to stay in the powerband a little more... Good times though, and truthfully you're riding at about the same pace i usually do

is it just me or do other people tilt their heads with the bike?
what cam you using?
Only problem I really see is the toyota camry on this road...
lol....hey wat does the Z in "ZOMG" stand for?
Deals Gap, Hwy 129 TN/NC border
All three of you are skilled. But you still must all have a death wish.
this is in MPH right?
tennessee roads
So you didn't pass the stinkin car??? Next time go with a scooter 150, may do better...Just kidding..Good vid.; have more of that fun and ride safe!
wrong, it was designed to be parked... or crushed....
Ohhh poor guys, even me with my 600 Hornet could send the AMG to the past... Brazilian riders are the most dangerous riders, call us for a teacher... and claps for the AMG driver...
Awesome video, NOT!
Don't be scared of that white line. There's alot of road.Just saying.
More like a guy in a Mercedes playing with you . If you passed him maybe .
the merc is making you guys look bad..
Its nice to see sports bikes sharing the road and being respectful.
You guys could have been dicks like many who post videos from the tail. Thanks.
One mistake at these speeds. One. You're deader than fuck.
@TheSly0321 the trick to not get sick is to folow the movement as if you were riding the bike, that is turn head to side of the corner they are doing, if you stil get sick then you need to see a doctor or avoid totaly this videos.

The merc guy was not a good sport.
mustang wasnt even in the front.... damn haterrrrrs
Fkn mustang...
