The 2024 Subaru WRX TR serves as a high-tier alternative in the fifth-generation WRX lineup, compensating for the absence of the STi version. Previously, the TR designation stood for "tuner ready" and was associated with a base, stripped-down trim ideal for buyers planning extensive modifications. However, the new WRX TR is now near the top of the model range, just below the GT trim, and is priced to reflect its enhanced status. This version could be considered an "STI light," featuring several upgrades. Despite lacking distinct exterior badges and sharing features like the hood scoop and quad-tip exhaust with all WRX models, the TR trim distinguishes itself on the road with Brembo brakes and striking red calipers, marking it as a standout choice within the WRX series.

Thanks for the insightful review, Natalie. I'm glad that you mentioned the comfort factor. I got the Base '23 as I wanted SOME comfort (50 y.o. here) and definitely did NOT want the nannies. And yes, the summer tires made things so noisy. I live where it snows so the AS tires were quieter and made the grip on the ice quite remarkable.
I own a 22 limited and it’s great for what it’s worth. If you don’t want to pay 40 grand and still get a WRX, there’s options. I am a fan of their AWD system so I picked it up over the GRC, especially since at the time (2022) markups were insane. Also, Subaru doesn’t allow these ridiculous markups and I think they should be rewarded with a purchase. I might get a hatch Golf R in the next few years
You driving with lane assist off ?
Solid and balanced review--thank you!
I like the Limited trim’s seats best. But then I like the cladding too, which seems to be something all car reviewers feel compelled to say they don’t like it and become apologetic if they say otherwise.
Nice reveiw
No sun roof is for structural rigidity.
Nice car. Nice colour
To be fair......no one drives with their jacket ON....that makes the seats a little subjective
I don’t know about that, when it’s wintertime, I am most definitely driving with my jacket on!
@elliothaney there's this thing modern cars have called "climate control"......just saying 🙄
Sooooo do you drive shirtless in the summer....asking for a friend
I noticed the jacket, but what she said is true. I have those seats in my GT.
The WRX really has fallen from grace
2024 get the base for less
Car sounds terrible as a daily driver
No different than any compact sports compact car in noise level
It's ugly.
