One slight observation, when you pause hit the left arrow button on your computer and it will take the video back 5 seconds. Helps to keep the flow of the song going.

I know I suggested Epica to be checked out, but Nightwish's original singer is very iconic. Check out Nightwish with tarja turunen on vocals from 2004's End of an Era DVD. Their song Slaying The Dreamer smokes. Many Hot songs on that DVD.

It is fun to see your faces and excitement. Floor and Simone from Epica are very good friends for 20 years. They studied classical and theatre singing on the connsrvatory together and were roommates. Epica's bandmembers were Floor's former bandmembers After Forever and they still are all very good friends. There is no envy or hate going on between European bands and they love touring together (I played guitar for a long time in a pretty famous doom metal band and the atmosphere with other bands was awesome)
There is a whole world outside the USA. Nice you get to explore that. Thanks x

Welcome to the Nightwish Army, I can see you're all going to love your journey!
Since you have now heard it, the Nightwish channel issued a Storytime 10th anniversary special video showing Floor backstage and then singing Storytime as the first song in her first show with them in Seattle 1 Oct 2012. 48 hours to learn the setlist, then she went on stage for her first show. They then show her singing the song over multiple concerts through the last 10 years. Worldwide fan base. Since their 2020 tour was delayed, in May 2021 they did 2 full concerts in a live 3d virtual world venue. Over 250000 people from 108 countries ( including me in Canada) paid to stream these concerts live. One has been released on DVD. Set list is similar to the current tour. No live audience noise, but it was nice to see them play their new songs and some older songs I had not heard before live with all the graphical effects.
For Nightwish with some Irish bagpipes, try I Want My Tears Back. There is a 6th member of the band (an English man) & he plays a low whistle, a tin whistle, electric bouzouki, ullilan pipes, aka Irish bagpipes & guitar.
The show in Argentina is really good.

Quite possibly my favorite Nightwish song! Unless I am listening to another one - then that one is my favorite. Lol. The chorus is amazing, and the energy in this song is so good. I think you'll like Everdream and Song of Myself quite a bit. You'll get to them when you get to them. Don't worry about that. They have a great catalog, so whatever you react to, we're here.

1."The poet and the pendulum" A song you better do a bit homework about before listening to. It's about Tuomas' feelings after NW's break up with their first vocalist, Tarja Turunen. and he commited "suicide" in the music instead of doing it for real.
So that wasn't pretty. Google the open letters about the breakup to start with. And when you eventuallly check this one out, please pick the video from the Wembley show WITH captions of the lyrics. 16 mins song
2: "The greatest show on Earth" is basically the Earth's evolution from the big bang to the forming of the solar system to the time when mankind is no more sometine in the future. 22 mins song. Some prefer the wembley version, other the Tampere version. I like them both. There are differences between those 2 versions. For the first time listening, though, you might want to check out the Tampere version. More spetacular.
As I stare at this tab, the likes of this video stand at 666. No more, no less. There's no way I'm gonna meddle with this blissful state of fares. I'll be leaving my like later.

Tuomas is very poetic in his writing and it makes for complicated singing that Floor has to do but they embraced the challenge more and more as the next albums came out.

Nightwish essentials would be... The opener at Wacken 2013, "Dark Chest of Wonders", "Ghost River" and "Song of Myself" as a minimum. Because basically all the tracks they did at Wacken are fire. Wembley Arena would be, again the opener "Shudder before the Beautiful" and "7 days to the Wolves". At Tampere... "Weak Fantasy" for now. When you're ready for a couple more long grand epic songs somewhat like "Ghost Love Score" at Wembley you have "the Poet and the Pendulum" and at Tampere you have a trac about the creation of life on earth called "The Greatest show on Earth". In their past catalog you should really check out a Kick Axx remake tribute to Pink Floyd of the Pink Floyd song "High Hopes".

If y'all are enjoying Nightwish this much, another one you may like is Ayreon. Ayreon- The Day That The World Breaks Down is a good starting point.
Great reactions so far. I just subscribed after watching your 4 Nightwish videos. You're pause timing is pretty damn good honestly. However I suggest before you unpause the video press the left arrow key to go back 5 seconds. That way you can get back into the build up to where ever you paused it. Also try not to pause the video with less then 30 seconds left in the song. that is usually the climax of the song and pausing it to close to the end ruins the build up to the finale. But like I said you're doing amazing so far.
Another band that the Nightwish army enjoys and will build your audience is Sabaton. Might I request/suggest you react to BISMARK by Sabaton. It is my fav but there are many others. Keep being awesome!
