Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is an upcoming crossover fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the fifth installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, succeeding Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. The game follows the series' traditional style of gameplay: controlling one of various characters, players must use differing attacks to weaken their opponents and knock them out of an arena. It features a wide variety of game modes, including a campaign for a single-player and multiplayer versus modes. Ultimate includes every playable character from previous Super Smash Bros. titles-ranging from Nintendo's mascots to characters from third-party franchises-and several newcomers.
The project plan for a new Super Smash Bros. game was finished in December 2015, during the development of 3DS/Wii U's downloadable content. Series creator and director Masahiro Sakurai returned along with Bandai Namco Studios and Sora, the studios that developed the previous game; the studios' return sped up the preparation process. Sakurai's goal with Ultimate was to include every character from previous games despite the various development and licensing problems this would cause. Nintendo teased Ultimate during a Nintendo Direct presentation in March 2018 and announced it at E3 2018. It is scheduled to be released on December 7, 2018. - Hry

@@MS-oy4vo extra perks. To make fights easier. 65% of the fights are easy but some have hazards like shock floors, lava, screenflips, giant enemy, etc..
I don’t know what spirits do but I’m still out here collecting spirits like Orochi Maru collecting Jutsus

I just picked up Smash to play with my kids and grandchildren. I am feeling nostalgic now. Remember when games were less complicated but they included a manual anyway? About the time my kids were in college they did away with manuals altogether but you had the option to buy game guides. Now it seems game guides are a mandatory purchase. I just picked one up for Smash. I think the next step is to enter a PhD program for gaming. This spirit mechanic makes me want to stick with the classic gaming experience. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and study the game guide. Those kids are going to kick my ass, I just know it!

When I first saw the thing about certain spirit types being weak too others and all that I instantly thought of the thing from fire emblem warriors were axes are weak to swords or whatever(I didn’t really play warriors all that much)

That's true it's still in development but will release for free for a done that buys smash before December 31st I think

How do you use a spirit during a fight? When I’m fighting they never help and never come out
2 years late... But its because they arent supposed to appear in battle like assist trophies. They only increase your status and give buffs. Hope this helped;)
Are some spirits specific to the spirit board, or can you unlock all spirits through adventure mode?
Spirit board only. U also have to summon most spirits

What do you do with fighter spirits when you get them in classic mode or meta ridley?
Its Easy to remember if you think of it like Fire Emblem Weapon Triangle. That's what I immediately thought. Otherwise just attach the corresponding pokemon element to each color.
Red for Fire
Green for Grass
and Blue for Water.
I have a question. Is it bad to level up a spirit with snacks or cores? For example if you level up your pokemon with rare candy its stats will be much worse then level it up yourself
Do spirits have character bios like the trophies? I loved reading them because it showed me a lot of obscure characters.

for some reason i cant see and level up certain spirits in the level spirit section. even though i only have like 40 of them and they arnt even enhanced yet. but when i go to dismiss i see all of them.
So if they say Fire Attack ^ how much more dmg i do %wise. Is there any place i can check the exact numbers on these effects?

Austin John Plays you mentioned at 1:35 that the team power is broken down between attack and defense. How exactly is that calculated? The math does not add up.
Also, how are the colors “more” effective against each other? The color diagram you showed us says its more powerful, but in what way?
What is the purpose of primary spirits? Is it to hold support spirits and give you special abilities at 99 times 2? What do the stars do?
If the spirit does not say can be enhanced at lv. 99 is it worth leveling?
Is there a limit to how many spirits you can collect?
Which spirits are best to dismiss for most profit and or send out for mini games?
Is there a fast way acquire resources in SMU? We have cores, SP & SP (from dismissals), gold coins etc.
At 9:38 (Spirit board) the additional items have a number on the box, is that some kind of cost, if so what type of resource is this and how do you get more of it?

Unfortunately, they are used just for slots, that is it.
@@starrymaniac5127 Spirits arent JUST for slots. Sure supports may be the actual biggest effect on your team but it all comes down to the primary. Primary spirits make up for most of the power if not 90%
It adds extra attack power and you can become more defensive
Note that this information is for spirits with no additional attributes like higher jump or critical health things

What are the Dojos useful for? I like WoL so far but it's definitely overdesigned...they could have made it a bit simpler.

Hey do you have a video that better explains the dojo aspect of the game ? Cause know one else on all of CZcams has a video on how to optimize the dojos. My biggest fear is that I'm sticking the wrong spirits in the wrong dojos ... I know you can use slow bro to reset them but still , because there is so many spirits I can never tell if it's even beneficial to do so or not or exactly how much the dojos actually help ... it just says things like increase offense while decreasing defense... but it never says exactly how much ... please help

After messing around in training mode with spirits, I can see why they aren't likely to be used outside of World of Light and spirit board. Chrom's fully charged standard special does 176 points of damage when equipped with Zelda TWW at level 99 with Ashley as support.

What actually happens from a mechanical stand point if the strength from your team is higher/lower compared to the opponent and what happens if your spirit has the more effective/less effective type compared to your opponent. The things you mentioned are already explained in the game but what exacly is happening is a mysterie.

When summoning .... do you know if it matters the Level of the spirit you are sacrificing to get the core ? Like, if let’s say I need to sacrifice a Rabbid Kong spirit for its core, but I have two Rabbid Kongs available, should I sacrifice my stronger one so that the summoned spirit will be created stronger? Or it doesn’t matter?
So spirit types dont affect your rewards just team power. So me using defense against grab isnt gonna get me better rewards?
So it’s basically a character stat/ability customization system? Or do they show up and fight or something?
So it’s the boosts from the previous smash bros. With some additions but now they’re tied to a sticker of a character from tons of different franchises instead of just a “boot” or a “sword” or a “fist?
But how does battling against each other work? And why does literally no one talk about that? That’s like the coolest thing about spirits.

I'm so stuck on that Bayonetta fight near the beginning of World of Light....I was like "there has to be SOME way that I can manage to get an attack in or something!". How come, I can’t use some of the spirits I’ve unlocked. They only appear on the dismiss menu and not on the levelling up screen, which means I can’t level some of my spirits up.

Most Damage Spirit Setup:
Hades (Demon Style): Critical Attack Up + Trade Off Attack Up
Broken Combo/Mixup with Green Mario:
Combo: Dthrow -> Fair
Mixup: Fthrow -> UpB

You didn't explain the only thing i was confused about, what is the point of going to your spirit list and pressing fight on a spirit?
Is there an actual benefit from playing attack versus a grab for exemple?
The spirit types are like Rock Paper Scissors
Attack beats Grab
Grab beats Shield
Shield beats Attack
And neutral no matter the other spirit type there will no advantage

Here's another game that also uses this kinda gimmick, which is the mobile game, Kingdom Hearts Union X. I just downloaded and played that game and one thing I stumbled upon are these medals you get in the game to strengthen your avatar character and the medals remind me so much of the spirits from this game! Basically, each medal are all based on many different characters from the Kingdom Hearts series and even their different appearances from each game and it's also a Rock, Paper, Scissors type system where you'll need to equip different types of medals for each type of Heartless you'll have to face in each level. You'll get the main medals that you equip to your main slot to use in the levels and you have these small medals that you use to upgrade your main medals. I have encountered a person who thinks these spirits are all useless, even though they are clearly useful.

About the "shield, grab, attack" thing... it's just a random name right? It doesn't enhance either your shield or grab or attack?
I'm also struggling to find info about the power level of your spirit/team: when your power is too low, the fight is harder... in which way? Is the CPU just higher level or does he just hit harder?
And how much does having more/less power affect the rewards?
This is so confusing...
Alright, found a first answer: attack shield grab has no effect on attacking or using shield or grab... makes sense Nintendo...
@@Mangalex28 Well. Spirits that are attack *usually* have a higher attack. But not like the spiritual kind of thing. Their stats are changed. Also I have NO IDEA how grab works
