@@szymontaaj20 Rimx you shouldn't. Vudoo you can but a limited amount. Dry fire is safe on both but the sudden stop of the firing pin isn't good for it and it will eventually break.

I believe you have your terms mixed up. Pretty much every bolt action rifle PUSH FEEDS the round out of the magazine. Some like the Rim X and the other Zermitt actions use CONTROLLED FEED wherein the round pops up from the magazine and is held by the extractor(s) allowing it to be fed directly into the chamber without going up a ramp or sliding along the mouth of the chamber. The CZ 457 is also a controlled feed action. The problem the RimX has is the extractor is fixed to the bolt rim which does not allow it to snap over the cartridge rim. There are better choices for a replacement, mainly because they are designed to be placed in the same area the current extractor is located. Time will tell how long the Vudoo extractors last. I’ve shot the snot out of my RimX and have had only a few feeding issues those I have had were due to shooting my 457 a lot and then short stroking the Rim X. I did have one unfired case fail to extract but match ammo and match chambers occasionally will do that
@@takedeadaim8671 I agree the vudoo, rimx, 457 are controlled round feed. What I'm saying in the video is that a "push feed" on a Rimx is where the round gets pushed in front of the bolt and not controlled as designed. I think you thought I was saying the actions were push feed but what I was describing is the common feeding failure of the rimx as a "push feed"
@@PursuitofAccuracy your not getting my initial point. The term for rifles that push a round forward out of a magazine are called push feed actions. A round that does not chamber or go where it’s intended is an mis feed, failure to feed etc. I have looked at two different extractors to replace the fixed one in the Rim X. When Zermitt gets some extra bolt heads to me and get one or both extractors in and tested I will let you know.
@@takedeadaim8671i see what your saying but I'm not just coming up with that phrase. Every Rimx guy I know calls that misfeed a push feed as a general term for that particular failure. I'm not saying it's the right term, but it's what 99% of shooters call it
@@PursuitofAccuracy I got this off Wikipedia “Push feed and controlled feed (or controlled round feed) are two main types of mechanisms used in firearms to describe how the bolt drives the cartridge into the chamber and extracts the spent casing after firing. The push feed system does not grip the base of the cartridge before the cartridge has been fully entered into the chamber, and therefore under normal operation requires the cartridge to be fully chambered before it can be extracted.[1]” It describes the two feeding systems as I did and does not mention anything about a mis-feed. I’m not looking to argue with you, I base this off what I was taught and over 40 years shooting, studying, and working on guns. The people I have built rifles for with controlled feed actions have never come to me complaining of a push feed problem. I have had 457s that fail to extract, all of which have been due to factory extractors that looked like they were made on a 36 grit belt sander, some I could fix others got replaced.
