The Chevrolet Master and Master Deluxe are American passenger vehicles manufactured by Chevrolet between 1933 and 1942 to replace the 1933 Master Eagle. It was the more expensive model in the Chevrolet range at this time, with the Standard Mercury providing an affordable product between 1933 and 1937.[1] Starting with this generation, all GM cars shared a corporate appearance as a result of the Art and Color Section headed by Harley Earl.[1] From 1940 a more expensive version based on the Master Deluxe was launched called the Special Deluxe. The updated corporate appearance introduced a concealed radiator behind a façade with a grille.
This was the last Chevrolet that was exported to Japan in knock down kits and assembled at the company's factory in Osaka, Japan before the factory was appropriated by the Imperial Japanese Government. When Toyota decided to develop their own sedan called the Toyota AA, a locally manufactured Master was disassembled and examined to determine how Toyota should engineer their own cars.[2][3] In May of 1925 the Chevrolet Export Boxing plant at Bloomfield, New Jersey was repurposed from a previous owner where Knock-down kits for Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick and Cadillac passenger cars, and both Chevrolet and G. M. C. truck parts are crated and shipped by railroad to the docks at Weehawken, New Jersey for overseas GM assembly factories.
The Master name was used on a number of different versions, and the Series name changed each year. A four door open top convertible was no longer offered starting in 1933.
1933 (Series CA)
The Series CA Master replaced the 1933 Master Eagle midway through the model year when the 1933 Standard model (Series CC) was introduced. Several changes were made to the Eagle when the name was changed to Master. The easiest to identify is the post between the front door wing windows and the roll down windows. On the Eagle the chrome divider between these two windows goes down as the window goes down, where as on the Master this divider remains fixed and does not go down with the window.
1934 (Series DA)
The Series DA Master offered an increased wheelbase of 112 in (2,844.8 mm). This increased the difference with the cheaper Standard wheelbase to 5 in (127.0 mm). Powered by an upgraded version of the "Stovebolt Six", 206 cu in (3,380 cc) six-cylinder engine, now producing 80 hp (60 kW). The independent front suspension was something GM called "Knee-Action" using trailing arms and coil springs.
1935 (Series EA and ED)
The Master underwent a redesign, utilising a new "Turret Top" construction method. This consisted of steel used entirely in the body construction to include the roof and wood was no longer used in bodywork or chassis construction.[4]
1936 (Series FA and FD)
All Chevrolet took on an upgraded streamlined appearance as Chevrolet sought to take on a new and modern appearance called Art Deco, and the bodies were shared with the Pontiac Deluxe..
1937 (Series GA and GB)
The Master now replaced the lower priced Standard Six, while the higher equipment Master Deluxe edged the range upwards. While external differentiation was limited to trim and equipment, the Master Deluxe introduced independent front suspension while the Master retained a beam front axle on leaf springs. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Your 4 banger even comes with 2 extra spark plugs !
This is one of those kits that a builder needs to buy four or five. Lots of extra parts and a cool body style to build for a dilapidated junk yard diorama.
Also, it is one of those kits that lends itself to an endless variety of kit-bashing. The seperate frame, axle, and chassis components really lends itself
to those guys and gals that want to really create some crazy hot rod / rat rod / custom stuff. This is one that surely won't disappoint !
Whoa, are they re-releasing these kits, I had the original kit 20 years ago.
This kit is jam-packed.
@@oldsaerotech1167 indeed it is sir
Nice kool race/ hot rod model kit I'm definitely had added that 37 Chevy 3nl Coupe kit next month oh luv 14:41 with bluegrass music very relaxing.
I love how you think and put the cars and trucks stories to your build... Um waiting on my 63 Studebaker Avanti ti come in the mail so i can build it like i used to do when i used to work there
Shout to Flint, MI. Born and raised near Flint, rural abut 15 miles away. Still live here.
Birthplace or General Motors (among many others.) Birthplace of the corvette 1953.
You hit a home run with this one. I wasn't sure about the clear hood, but it turned out awesome, and I love the metallic finish, super cool.
Is there anyone else going broke trying to keep up on all these great kits Chris is building?!?
I'm sure the sellers appreciate that! LOL and thanks for watching!
I AM FOR SURE HAHAHAHA
Modeling season is over for me this year. I do all of my painting outside. Between cold wet weather, thousands of pin oak leaves falling, and the winter blues, I'll be hibernating and watching you and others. Great job.
Looks great !
It does appear to be a better kit than box photo depicts... And Am still mesmerized by certain music tracks you happily consistently use.. !
If the AMT '37 Chevy "Salt Shaker" runs at Bonneville, where does the AMT '57 Chevy "Pepper Shaker" run?😄😆🤣
Great job!
Drag Strips 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I really dig this color combination and decal choices 👌! Great idea on getting the slicks inside the rear fenders! I've had this kit on backorder since early August, can't wait to get my hands on this kit! 🙌
Nice kit. I like when Round 2 finds those "Good" old kits.
six banger
Yep, the old Stovebolt 6! Chevy did not have a 4 banger in this era.
It would be cool if there was extra parts for the stovebolt 6 like a multi carburetor set up and a split exhaust manifold. It would make a really sick ratrod
The Salt Shaker issue I remember from about 1982 had a set of tall plastic salt flat style race tires that were black interlocking halves. These were around the timeframe when AMT was evolving to nylon tires in the car kits. Some kits did have nylon tires, but not all.
I may be starting to show my age and memory.
Nothing Wrong With Being Older 🤗🤗🤗
@@garyparker2969 .....the problem with getting older is - you still can think like you're younger but, no matter how well you take care
of yourself, things start to breakdown and things don't operate the way they used to. Plus, taking lots of meds is a pain !
Love that bluegrass music
You've got this down to a fine art now my friend 👍👍
Wow Mr Chris that 37 Is BAD A BUILD LOVE IT SIR IT....ALL YOUR MODEL'S POP...I CANT WAIT TO WATCH YOUR NEXT BUILD....HAPPY THANKSGIVING SIR
This 37 Chevy kit has been a favorite of mine for years! I will be building a salt version with skinnies and steelies, plus the modified six engine from the 51 Chevy coupe kit. I would like the chassis to be updated, and I know that won’t happen for a kit you can buy off the shelf.
I will also be building a street sleeper version similar to a real 37 that has a turbocharged 292 six, that can dip into the upper 9’s in the quarter, and streetable. I saw that car run at MoKan Dragway.
I also want to build another model that could’ve been one from my Dad’s upbringing as a child, ole Stovebolt six, maybe pea green style paint of the era.
The hubcaps also make for good steel wheel caps for later cars and trucks if you want to make a mod on a 40’s to some 60’s cars or trucks. I did that!
I actually want a real steel one for me to build and drive!
Chris, you've captured the essence of a Bonneville racer perfectly. Reminds me of AMT's Studebaker coupe with the twin-blower unit in the streamlined hood.
Nice finish!
I get part lost for 2 years thing... I was emptying my shop vac a few days ago and found the lost alternator from my 68 Camaro build from last year.
Great build brother! Love the bare metal look.
Love this clear hood and natural metal finish!
Yeah! Nice kit. Kudos to Round2 for their approach. They obviously get that many modelers like to customize to their own tastes (besides color scheme and whatnot) and by providing all those options you can easily make a model that looks entirely unique. That gives you a lot of room to be as artistic and creative about it as you want to be without spending all the money on aftermarket parts and stuff. It makes modeling more like art and less like duplication. I like what you chose to do and it came out spectacular and it's a unique build that has your signature on it. Cool beans.
Love it! I'll be putting "13" on mine, when I get one....or several! 😉😎
As I'm watching this I like where you're going with the build. Can't wait to see how it ends! Goin your own way on it!
Hi Chris.Hi from Auckland,New Zealand.Always enjoy your build videos.Totally agree with & endorse your comments re building models for yourself.Too many people get hung up on build standards, worrying about other people's comments & opinions."Stuff that". Always build for yourself. What someone else thinks of my models is not my business. What is my business is if I enjoy building them my way & that I (& only I) enjoy the finished model.Keep up the good work.Really enjoy your channel.KP
100% AGREE WITH YOU
I love New Zealand and for me it's the most beautiful place on the planet.
Another good video. Keep up the good work.
Looks like I'll have to buy three of 'em. Gotta do the Stock, Custom and Bonneville versions!
Dang that looks so good!!
Looks great. First I have seen without a GMC blower.
A build so nice - I watched it twice!
Ooo - no - I'm going back for another look. I guess that makes it THRICE.
Thanks again, Chris - not just for this build, but your cool ideas on kit building.
Looks great in that color. Awesome job!
Really enjoy your videos great work
This thing is hot! Beautiful job like always! Thank you!
That parts tree at 3:32 looks like "new" tooling! Those rear inner fenders are "much needed" items!👍
Perfect color choice for a salt flat car paint is weight. Love the tucking of the back tires idea.
Pretty kit. Kinda special/ackward way to make a 3 in 1. Seems to be well maintained by Round2. Tho, what's fun with X in 1, is that it can quickly become infinite in 1. The combo you can make that they didn't themselves think about and all that... Just for the salt racer, they seems to have made it a modern type build. But looking at vintage pictures, you could use all 4 stock rims and wheels. And heck, if you can fit the stock rims in the slick, you can make another design too!
And as always, your build is awesome.
Great job. Love what you did with the headers.
Very cool kit! Thanks for the video 😎👍
This is really cool, I had wanted to pre-order this when I pre-ordered the Godzilla Go-Cart ( had to get it ) and the Rat Fink Tractor, and the Hot Wheels monster truck. There is so much cool stuff coming out.
Good idea tucking in the rear tires. This kit is a dead ringer for my friends old 37 Chevy. His was maroon but looked just like this one. Pretty cool.
Thanks!
Looks awesome
Perfect kit to weather too like it just finished racing on the salt flats. Maybe use grout powder to mimick the dust that it kicks up . Cool build 😎
I recently heat-stained the header pipes on a 1:8 Scale Shelby Cobra I'm building (similar to the Fast and Furious Charger you're doing). I used Mica Powders to stain them and it worked great
That’s absolutely stunning Chris! Just wow! I have to get this kit somehow here in Australia. Hope your having a great weekend buddy. Take care ☺️👍
Nice one Chris that will go perfect with my stude salt racer cheers 👍🇦🇺
The kit is very nice with so many spares. The color scheme is fantastic and is simply a beautiful build. Thanks for sharing this.
Great job as always
What a sharp looking racer - really like the paint job you went with.
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC BAD AS HECK BROTHER, AMAZING JOB !!!! Thank you very much for sharing this build because I had already had my mind set that I WAS NOT going to buy this kit because it didn't seem to interesting BUT you absolutely changed my mind because this kit is SICK AS HECK !!!! Thank you and keep em coming, everyone from my family to yours have a very safe and happy holiday. Remember to SMILE it's a hobby and it's suppose to be FUN, keep yourself and love ones safe and healthy.
Beautiful build! fun looking cool kit! I like how you tucked the rear wheels 👌
Looking forward to this release. I will have to fix the issue of the back axle not being centered to the body. Sticks out like a sore thumb. Would not be an AMT kit if there was not something to fix.
Gonna have to get this kit nice build buddy great job
Most enjoyable build vid in awhile (all are outstanding) but this one I found especially fun. Turned out fantastic.
I seem to remember someone put out something similar called the Salty Dog
Nice build ..been waiting on this one!! Kool
Once again Chris you have out done yourself! Great build of a great kit. If there was an "EMMY" award for this venue you would win hands down!
Thank you Sir for revealing the new kits out there. Very informative love what you do. I like how you assemble and paint as well. very well thought out Never to old to learn new tricks from fellow modelers. God bless .
That turned out beautifully! I have three of the older release with the convertible body. I bought them for spare parts but now I'm going to build one!
I am here for amazing content!
Toch heerlijk om jou bezig te zien met de verf en het ineen zetten van de modellen doe zo voord
Thanks!
The original kit was stock custom or drag I have one all those parts are there The clear hood was for the custom version sweet kit sweet build
Great build! I will add this kit to my must build list.
Enjoy!
I see stock look stock wheels and tires with the 427 sleeper
Nice!
Couldn’t click fast enough , looks so cool .
Chris, this is an absolutely amazing looking build! I love the colors you have chosen, I really like the black nose and clear hood!!! The overall look is just great. It is inspiring, as always keep up the good work.
very cool building one of these now yours turned out great
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome job as usual Chris very nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Chris. Yes Super cool kit. I built its Convertible Twin in Mid-70s in Frost Burgandy Metallic & Electric Spark Blue. It was one of the prides of my Collection. Kit Didn't Feature Clear Hood Round 2 hits it put of the Park with New improvements to what was very Good kit. Actually it would be good kit as someones First Glue kit. Thanks for the Great Review. Happy New Year !!
Thanks, HNY to you too!
niiice , luv it
Mighty fine, Chris!! The aluminum paint job was a great idea. I’ve often wondered how that would come out!!😊👍
Glad you liked it!
Wow!!! Another great build. I can't wait to get one, this is such a cool car. Great job!
Great model build man looks good does the cragar rims are they detailed I’m looking for some in a kit that says cragar on them
So so enjoy your videos 📹 😊 a great build as always please keep them coming 🙏 ❤ and here to help get your videos out to everyone buddy 😀 😊
The paint interfered with gluing the plastic parts together that when i gave that up, i think 1981
That looks awsome Chris the way you painted it.The look reminds me of some of the Ww2 bombers that had that chrome look.
Just found this video, I hope those are still available, I'd love to get 2
Wouldnt it be cool if all model car kits came with a clear hood option!
I love your videos and all the models. Just FYI for other builders old school transmissions are cast iron and rarely painted , they let them rust.
Awesome job as usuall I will be getting this kit from model roundup
I was a little worried about your paint choices until you put it all together- now I'm a believer. Not the exhaust colors though, I wish they'd sold transparent paints back in the 60s. Trying to get that look with Testors enamels (all that was available where I lived) was a serious pain.
Your end "beauty shots" photography is steadily improving. That looks like a real car, clear hood and all (custom-made plexiglass show hoods were a thing for a while).
That stovebolt would look bitchin' in a shop diorama, being removed from a car getting rebuilt.
Silver with white stripes is my all time favorite combo! Looks amazing! Great job as usual!
great job chris, but you are missing some salt..been to bonneville...more landspeed cars please!
Use the extra decals on kits that have no racing decals if you want to modify certain kits into racers.
Outstanding the details always amazing
👍👍👍👍👍
✌
Another great video thanks for all the tips , what kind of paint booth do you use or recommend ?
Roll BAR. Think any NASCAR stock car kit.
I'm building this one right now and am alittle disappointed. I tried to fit everything before painting. Had to take away quite a bit of the fenders in the front to fit the pipes. The motor sits pretty high and it barely fits under the hood. And the "instructions" suck. A problem with all AMT kits and not for beginners. Looks like you didn't have to do much extra. Looks nice! Your video helped me understand how some parts go together, like the exaust pipes. I'll put the Chevy Plate in my back window too.
Nice
Thanks!
Looks awesome Chris! Just the right stance in my opinion. I won't count the rivets this time. 🤣
u must be from michigan u have the right chevy orange
Very nice
Brilliant mate👍👍👍
Yeah buddy, badass! Absolutely! I’m sure diggin it Chris! 👍👍👍👍🤘✌🏻
I love amt's 37 chevy kits, I have the orginal issue of this kit and it does not come with any of those extra parts like the normal kit has, it can only be built as the Bonneville racer, I just ordered this kit, I can't build enough 37 chevy's I'd why. Lol
Very cool but your spray booth always makes me cringe 😂🤣😂 I have no idea how you manage to spray anything without getting paint dust in all your finishes. That poor booth needs a serious scrubbing.😄 Great looking build. Have a great day!
