What dart points are best for you?
Today we look at the difference types of points available and how they car be used to improve your game of darts as well as the con's with some of these innovations.
My channel is exclusive to darts only content. I create my content as I simply love to play darts and want to help other dart players improve with my own channel.
All my video's are based on how to play darts as well as advise on equipment and general darts setup with the aim to guide any new players in their darting journey as well as provide more experienced or even professional dart players with dart content to help improve.
I throw around an 80 average myself with my left hand due to in injury and dartitis in my right arm.
I may on occasion use footage from the Professional darts corporation (the P.D.C) as well as The British Darts organisation (The B.D.O). These are used under fair use legislation and all credit should be given the rightful creators. - Sport
Very helpful just had my first point break tonight east fix just gotta get some new ones. It’s nice that they have a break point so the tool is very useful.
Hi, nice review. I use mostly Target Precision Machined Fire Points 36mm Black Nickel. Find it best suited & holds great in the board. They are that long because I use my pinky & ringfinger to rest, grip the point.
Absolutely bang on about long points I struggled terribly with 42mm points the balance was greatly affected. I know throw with a 32mm black points and quite happy with that. I do think that alot of the points that are out there now a gimmicks.
Great vid, I had a brand new set of target agora, came standard with a short silver point. During a match I hit a ton but before I could retrieve it the dart in the treble just simply fell out. I laughed and took the 40pts to the chin. Ill be sure to rough up any silver points now.
Yeah I bought Jonny Clayton darts with the standard silver points every time I took my turn at least one dart would fall out before I took down the score and that was new darts on the new winmau triple core board.
Thx
Great name for a darts channel!
Thanks!! I responce your other question my average is around 80 normally. :) and I think a vid on grouping is a good idea, thanks for the suggestion 👍 keep your eye out for the vid. :') my the darts be with you. 😀
@@Straightdarts I deleted my 3DA comment/question because I heard your answer in another one of your videos. I think you're off to a great start! A darts instructional channel from a well above average player should become popular. The Darts Referee rarely does videos now and Darts Class has somewhat disappeared. Keep them coming and you should grow! Thanks!
I throw 26g darts and I haven’t had many problems with darts falling out. I just ordered a repointing tool (the Harrows one). I figure, getting back into darts after 4.0 years, if I’m going to experiment with flights and stems, why not try different business ends? Thanks, as always, for your informative videos!
Spot on!👍
Have the Jonny Clayton's 2021 Ladbrokes, this came with the 27mm trident silver points.
No falling off issues plus it extends flight life as well.👍🍻
Great video! 👍i have one question , what is the best way of cutting dart points to a different length?
I use these two, cheep products. :)

Im looking at buy darts mission john oshea then adding mission sniper points eithet 28mm or 32mm
Hello Daniel how do u colour the point
That was only done to stop the point form glaring. It's just a marker pen. It dosnt last long. I can rambow coat darts and points buy burning them lightly then cooling them instantly. I might do a video on that. :)
So the very nice looking Rainbow points do not reward the same amount of board grip as the well working but rather boring looking black points?
Unfortunately yes. The black coating is thicker and cases more traction.
When they give a point length, eg. 32mm, is that how far they stick out from the end of the barrell? Or is some of that inside?
If it has a tapper to join the barrel like a target storm then it how fair they stick out of the barrel. If its a straight normal point then it the whole length. With mentioning the points normally go in to a barrel about 4mm so the storm 26mm and a normal 32mm point are pretty much thr same length from the barrel to the tip. :)
@@Straightdarts What are the point lengths in the darts in this video
What brand points do u use
I use 30mm mission points. They are very short.
So if I understand that it is similar to the stems... longer ones have less stability through the air... same with points ? Does it affect how the darts end up in the board... flatter... ?
Or the other way around 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No, the length won't. But the more grip you have on the point, the flater they will want to land. Its only a slight difference, though. The advantage to a long point is the extra room in the treble, but they are less stable. I like to use the barrel of my darts to deflect them in, so a shoter point is better. :)
Why do you prefer black points to silver?
The black on the points provides a bit more grip in the board. With silver points you need to rough them up more. I don't mind to much though. :)
