I´m not from a Blue Zone, but my grandfather just turned 100 and is healthy. I believe some of his strongest qualities are that he is so positive and happy, just enjoying life and never dwelling on anything. Never heard him say a bad word about anyone. Also never smoked and been very physically active all his life! 🙂

"Red meat" usually means beef. The islands in the blue zones don't have many cattle.
However -- the Mediterranean diet involves eating nose to tail; mostly goats, sheep & pigs. They raise their own animals, so they KNOW that they are treated well & not filled with soy or antibiotics.
The plants are either forraged or grown by the famalies themselves -- not oats covered with Roundup..
The soil there is not depleted like the monocrops of the modern world , so they contain more of the minerals needed for health.
Unless i raise my own dairy goats, there's not much chance of immitating the diet of these healthy people.
We would be better served trying to copy their lifestyles, instead...
Personal peace, purpose, & family. Lots of movement throughout the day.
There's just no way to compete with their organic plants . None of us could eat as much cheese & pork as they consume every day.
They also have a glass or two of local, often home made, wine - which also contsins important minerals.

If you basing your fiet on countries that have the longest living people, then Hong Kong is tops according to the UN. This is going to shock the Blue Zone foodies...Hong Kong has the highest meat consumption.

I couldn't hang with it either, like a juicy steak now and then and eat the fat, so good.
