I used to listen to the Goon Show as a child, laying on my stomach on the lounge-room floor, console radio against the wall and my father sitting in his armchair. I have never, until now, seen a recording session. Many, many thanks from a 70 year-old Goons fan. :)
Four things on which to comment: • I value being able to see how the Goons did their parts that I'd heard only on radio until recently, • This may bother some Goons viewer fans, but I still think this show was much better on radio alone, • What a shame we couldn't see the sound effects man at work - I think he was the hardest working member of the recording crew, • This bears a remarkable resemblance to the GS episode 'The Silent Bugler'. PS. I learned a lot of world (mainly European) geography from the Goons.
I have been listening to the Goon shows on the radio and did not realise how ahead of their time they were. Most of the surreal situations and jokes have stood the test of time and are far funnier than a lot of what passes for comedy today and to think they were recorded 60 years ago. A tribute to the genius of Spike Milligan
I used to listen to these guys when I was younger and now my daughter loves them. my father gave me some of the recordings on vinyl and I cherished them until they were destroyed. But I will always love The Goon Show...

So was this the first time in all time that a human mentioned "Doctor Who".
Wonderful and simple yet oh so clever humour......
Heard these a lot when I was younger but never seen it acted out, amazing! Is this the only one?
Didn't you check the sound levels before uploading it? Whisper quiet at full volume!
