I used to love them. I met Ray Ellington, when I was quite young (14/15) My sister brought me to dance hall to see him. I was sitting on the side of the stage when one of 'heavies' rushed up and told me to get off. Ray grabbed a chair, called me up on stage, and told me to sit down. I sat there for the whole show, it was great.. When they finished up and were going off stage, he looked around with that huge smile, blew me a kiss and waved. I was 'rapt'!!
I used to say goodnight to my friend, with him being Henry & Me being Minnie, with the 'have you put the cat out' bit. My sister and his sister used to sit in the back seat of the car howling with laughter. Happy days!! I'm going to try and find M & H on here!.
