- I travel from Birmingham, AL to Hohenwald, TN to pick up my new Oliver travel trailer. After that, I spend four nights in the camper before returning home.
Fun fact: Jack Daniel was 5' 2" tall and wore men's size 4 shoes.
Gotta love a manufacturer who lets you test your new RV overnight onsite before heading out.
Yes, I had a small issue while parked there and a tech came over to the campground and helped me out. Oliver is a great company!
Boy! That Buckeys was CrAzY! 😂
For sure, Laura- they get that way every weekend! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I loved how you showed so much of the Oliver as well as living in it. Beautiful campsites as well. Can’t forget Oreo… Adorable!! 🥰♥️
Glad you enjoyed it- Oreo says hi 👋 Thanks for watching!
Ha! The "campground" at the Oliver factory is free, and drab, but it's also a great way to take a shakedown cruise and make sure all components are working okay.🙂
Yes! It is a great service they offer, at least for now. Even though they have moved to selling only through dealers, you can still take delivery from the factory in Hohenwald. Thanks for watching!
GREAT Video, Steve! You Livin' my Dream!😊 Love your vids! Apparently, I'm watching them outta order, though😂 JUST came across this "Episode One" 🤪 I hope you're enjoying your Oliver and having Great Adventures! If you're ever around Tucson, come hang out! I don't own an RV .... Yet, but Do HOST with Boondockers Welcome on my 4 acres near Tucson. Take Care! Travel Safe😊
Awesome, thanks so much! I am really enjoying the camper and I'm going to soon be doing a lot more traveling... more to come. Thanks for the offer to boondock, you never know, I may take you up on that! Thanks for commenting and watching!
Thank you for the tutorial and tour! I really like these little campers! Hope to own one soon!
Thanks! The Oliver is a great camper, if it suits your lifestyle, more like the tiny house of campers.
Congrats on your new purchase!! I own a Casita for three years! It’s been great. I really do like the build of the Oliver ! Thanks for sharing. 👍😁
I am really enjoying it so far! Thanks for watching!
Absolutely love Oliver trailers, wish I could afford one
Thanks, I am loving it, for sure. Thanks for watching!
Cool video series! I have never owned an RV, and probably never will, but I haven't ruled it out, and it's great to follow your experience and see what owning a trailer is actually like--beautiful Oliver, btw. Thanks!
Thanks! I am enjoying it for sure. Thanks for watching!
Navy buddy bought the single axle trail last year. Him and his wife are loving it Plus the great customer service Oliver provides and follow ups
Oliver is a great company and the community of Oliver owners on facebook and Oliver forums is also very good.
I appreciate your laid back style and excellent video production quality. We are picking up our Ollie next week.
Thanks a lot for your kind comment! Great to hear about your Oliver, it is an exciting time for you! The "new" hasn't worn off mine yet and I'm really enjoying it. Thanks for watching!
That looked great - enjoy that trailer and all the adventures its going to bring you!
I’m really enjoying it! Thanks for watching!
Congratulations 🎉 beautiful camper.
I am enjoying it! Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on your new trailer, very nice.👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks very much, I am enjoying it. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Found you through Liz Amazing and her review of the Oliver RV. I had never heard of the Oliver RV. Again, great video and will peruse your others 👏
That’s great, thanks for watching!
Love our Oliver! The Truma is a must. If you get tired of the Anderson hitch, you might consider the Roadmaster active suspension. I was tired of the chains, now I just back up and hook up. Ordered it and installed it myself, two bolts. Hull 815
That's something to think about- the Anderson can sometimes be a pain to line up correctly. Thanks for watching!
Nice trailer and good first trip, gr from the Netherlands.
Thanks! Appreciate you watching the channel 👍
New subie here. Awesome channel Steve! I am from Dallas, but bought some property 25 miles from hohenwauld in Linden, TN.
Thanks! That area of Tennessee is beautiful! 👍
@@StevesRoadTripChronicles yes sir, it is!
Enjoyed your video. My wife and I have a 2019 Elite II that we enjoy very much. In May we went to the Smoky Mountains and on the way stopped at a Buckies in north Georgia that was the most crowded “gas station “ I have ever seen. It was a little to busy for my taste. I don’t have the lithium battery package or the Truma a/c unit but I do see the advantage of being able to run the a/c whenever. We do have the Truma on demand water heater we really like it. I have listened to the Truma air conditioner run it is impressive! I hope you and Oreo enjoy the Oliver!
Being able to pop back to the camper while on the road is one of the greatest benefits, I think. Now that we're closing in on fall weather, hopefully we won't need to run that A/C! Thanks for watching!
Hey Steve! What are the odds. I am from Birmingham and love RV content so stumbled across your channel last night and I love your energy! Great camper and I cant wait to watch the rest of your videos.
I appreciate that, Jasmine- happy you found me! Thanks for watching!
Great video Steve! When you want to team up on a video having your trailer ceramic coated, reach out to us!
You obviously have good taste in both the Oliver and the Technivorm Coffee maker. Big fan of both. Appreciate your video and your experience and I hope to buy my own after I get the Cybertruck. 😊 I’m in GA so another nice little trip to TN. Hope you have many years of exploring and enjoying your travels. ❤
Haha! Well, coffee is very important as we all know :D Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
@@StevesRoadTripChronicles Correction, GOOD coffee IS important! 😂
We have been looking at a Oliver for a bit . I hope you get lots of enjoyment out of your camper
It deserves a close look, the quality is 1st class. You should contact Oliver and ask for a look at one. There are Oliver owners all over that have agreed to show their campers to prospective buyers. Oliver can put you in touch with one in your area. Thanks for watching!
Found you through LIZ AMAZING, thought I'd give you a subscribe, like and comment. ❤
Appreciate that! Thanks for subscribing and watching! 🤎
Wow cool trailer my friend ❤❤
I am enjoying it, for sure. Thanks for watching!
Oliver by-far makes some of the best looking TTs. Very sleek, modern and high quality. Comparable to an Airstream, but better looking...IMO. Can't wait to see the adventures with it!
I agree! I looked at Airstream before finally choosing to get an Oliver. Hope you will subscribe so you can see my adventures! Thanks for watching!
Watched video for the oliver content though i will say i enjoyed the great video in entirely !
Great to hear, thanks for watching!
Another suggestion, Y on the faucet, pressure regulator, hose, filter, 45 degree fitting. I actually up a sediment filter after the pressure regulator. Sediment doesn’t clog your water filter at the trailer. I don’t like running filtered water through the hose that’s be sitting in the heat with moisture in it.
Another good tip, thanks! I do have a Y on the faucet now.
You might get a single element induction plate, so you can cook outside. If you really want good bacon, get t small gas grill and cook it on it like a steak without a pan. You’ll never go back to cooking bacon indoors.
Yeah, I do have a grill that I use that has a griddle on it, definitely makes it easier with fewer smells!
@@StevesRoadTripChronicles Don’t use the griddle, but cook the bacon directly on the grate like a steak. I use a Weber Q when out with the Oliver and a Weber Gen. 3 at home. Bacon is crispy and Smokey. I cook it on low to medium and use thick cut bacon.
Oh hell, no the Buckys
Bucees is a guilty pleasure :D Thanks for watching!
Oliver makes a great rv.
Indeed, they do! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for video…. You should consider writing ….. your narration and attention to detail is quiet nice!😊
Thanks for the compliment ☺️ and thanks for watching!
That's right down the road from me! Used to live there actually
Nice! Thanks for watching!
A little butter in a pan and lay the bread in. It'll toast it nicely
That would work, for sure. I have a little toaster oven now. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
I’ve been watching a lot of videos on fiberglass RV trailers, and this one popped up. So far this one is my favorite RV trailer. I’m in Birmingham, AL too! Still enjoying it?
Yes, I'm still loving it! I just recorded a video with Liz Amazing, check it out here: czcams.com/video/QuFLXavLucE/video.htmlsi=gOtctI2Xa8wyyDb3 Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing! New sub here. This is my dream trailer. Hope to get one once the truck payments are done. Would you mind answering a couple questions? Do you have the max tow package? How does it handle freeway driving? Any wind experience? Are you able to back up with the andersen hitch still attached? And finally, can you open your tailgate while it's hooked up? Thanks!
I have the "pro towing" but not the "max towing". I'm new to F-150, and I didn't know there was a difference, wish I had max. Handles great on the freeway- the F-150 also has a sway feature that uses the anti-lock brakes, but the Andersen is great. No issues when the big trucks pass. Yes you can back up with no problem with the Andersen. You can open the tailgate as long as the trailer is straight. I have the optional aluminum box on the tongue and with the tailgate down, there is maybe 4 inches of gap. If you are considering an Oliver, join the forums at olivertraveltrailers.com/forums. There are some real experts there that can answer questions, too. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
How long can you run the AC straight with the full platinum lithium battery package?
Really depends on a lot of factors, how hot it is, what you set the thermostat to… if it was running full on without cycling and no solar, it might run 5-6 hours. Thanks for watching!
That is the cleanest well made trailer I think I’ve ever seen. I like it. Scared to ask how much. Lol
Be afraid!! lol, I have to admit, the Oliver is a bit spendy, but no doubt the quality makes up for it. Thanks for watching!
What brand is your coffee maker? We have an Oliver and noticed it fits perfectly on the space!
It’s a Technivorm Moccamaster: a.co/d/cZgVAiY
They are excellent coffee makers and I’m on my 2nd one. NOT that anything happened to the first one but I decided I wanted the glass carafe instead of the thermal. Spendy but you really do get what you pay for. Well worth it and I know someone who bought a refurbished one and can’t tell any difference except warranty difference.
One cleaned looking tt. Quality and good design is all over it. What’s the gross weight of it? Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks! Dry weight is 4900, GVWR is 7000. Thanks for watching!
I wonder if a small air fryer might be a good solution for cooking...bread and all. I know it usually does a good job for bacon.
That's a good idea- I've been looking for an air fryer / toaster that is small, a lot of them are just too big. Thanks for watching!
Will the ac run off the batteries and if so how long
I have the upgraded Truma Aventa AC, and it will run off of batteries. One of the great things about travel days- when you stop for lunch, you can turn on the A/C and have lunch in the trailer! If it is running full-blast, it might last 4-5 hours. I have 640A/H of lithiums.
@@StevesRoadTripChronicles at least that a decent amount of time . Thanks for the reply
Hey Steve, great video and congratulations on your new Ollie. My wife and I took delivery of ours last March. We have the standard Dometic AC and we run it off of the batteries as well. The size of the inverter and the Easy Start on the AC unit allows this. Previously, one had to order the Easy Start separately, but I believe it's included now when you have the 3000 watt inverter (we have the platinum lithium package like you). All the best in your travels!
Thanks Brian! Yes, I'm certainly enjoying it! Glad to be coming into some cooler weather soon, so running that AC won't be a concern. Thanks for watching!
The blinds are upside down.....
Not sure what you mean?
@@StevesRoadTripChronicles The blackout shades should come up from the bottom. This allows you to put it up say 3/4 for privacy, and still have the top 1/4 day/bug screen open for airflow and seeing out.
@@myohmy839 Ah, OK, that makes sense. I think they can easily be turned around, they are clipped in to the window. Thanks for your comment and watching!
Great video! I noticed you had the “Ford” trailer assist back up sticker. I have that feature on my truck, too. But I have never used it. Did it work for you?
Thanks! Yes, I really like the pro trailer backup feature. You can keep your eyes on the trailer and just steer it where you’d like with the knob on the dash! 👍
I can't understand how anyone can visit a place like that and not go fishing.
If you like to fish, it’s a great place for sure! Thanks for watching!
