What a beautiful campground. The scenery is stunning. Love watching the cooking segments, too. Love to Oreo 🐾 ❤
Steve & Oreo, I love that you share your travels with us 😀
Thanks so much- I appreciate you letting me know, it means a lot! ❤️
Thanks for sharing your adventure. I enjoy the cooking segments also.
Glad you like them, John! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing your experience. 👍🏾 This is one of our favorite places. We have camped in that very spot and enjoyed it just as you and your fur baby did. Just a beautiful COE location for camping and water activities.
It is a great campground. I haven’t been to any COE campground that I wasn’t impressed with. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching!
Thanks for another relaxing video, Steve. That looks like it would be a wonderful destination in spring or autumn. Too hot for me in summer! The pork chops looked tasty. Deb asked how the bug zapper worked?
Hi Steve! Appreciate it, yeah, the humidity can be awful. Can't wait for the fall weather! Tell Deb the bug zapper worked pretty good. I had about 20-30 bugs zapped in there the first night. It's waterproof and you can just rinse it under running water and let it dry. I'll add the link to the zapper in the description. Hope you and Deb are having fun!
@@StevesRoadTripChronicles Ordered! Thanks
Enjoyed watching your channel once again in sweet home Alabama, where the skies are so blue - double like on the hiking pics. Bug zapper is a good find. Enjoyed dinner chef Steve, but where a chef's hat next time :)
Thanks Paul! I have to find a fancy hat somewhere! Thanks for watching!
please loud back ground music while talking. hard for elderly
So sorry- I had a hard time with the audio on that episode, I apologize! Thanks for letting me know and thanks for watching!
Great video!
Thanks 👍 glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate you watching!
Great Video ! Loved it … Liked watching you cook dinner - dang they looked yummy .. going to make … Thank you Have a Blessed camping Adventure . Hi Oreo 🐾🐾🐾🐾
Thanks Brianna! I appreciate your comment and for watching. Oreo says Hi! 🐶
Thank you for the tour and the cooking lesson. Feel free to include future cooking lessons, everyone has a unique style.
I appreciate it Blair! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. Really enjoy your musings. Yes, please include the cooking portion. The variety of activities in your videos makes them especially appealing. Tell Oreo that she's the star of the show. Thanks again. Looking forward to your next excursion.
I appreciate your comment, Russell! Hard to tell what different people want to see in my videos. Thanks for watching, and Oreo says hi! 🐶
For sure show your cooking skills!
Thanks Sally, although I'm not sure they would be called "skills" 😂. I appreciate you commenting and watching!
Very informative/helpful Steve. Thanks.
Glad you liked it, Emilio! Thanks for watching!
Happy birthday Oreo!
Oreo says hi! 🐶 Thanks for watching!
im not seeing proper ventalation under the solar pannels, That is very important...im an engineer helping engineer those pannels...meed at least 3 inches under those pannels in all directions
I haven’t measured it, but I’d say there’s at least 3” between the panels and the roof. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
I wonder if you could get a custom made sign to go where the old vent cover for the fridge is at. If it just screws on....
Ahh, now that's a great idea! I'll have to give that some thought... Thanks for watching!
Is the Oliver a 4 season camper?
Absolutely. The double-hull construction is great insulation with both a reflective barrier and an air gap. All the tanks are between the hulls and there is cabin ventilation around the tanks. There is probably a limit to how cold you could go in it, but I think that would be true for any camper. The fall and winter is by far my favorite time to camp! Thanks for your comment and for watching!
Thanks for the review and your time!!!
Sure thing! Thanks for your comment and watching!
Excellent ! Looked like fun
It was fun, even for an introvert like me! Thanks for watching!
Loved F. Hill on the propane plug.
🤣 it seemed appropriate. Thanks for watching!
Given the cost of batteries, seems that hatch should have a good lock.
A few owners are looking for a better lock solution. Thanks for watching!
I guess the external table was cheaper than changing the mold.
The table is a great feature that they have kept in the latest model.
Nice video……thanks for sharing!!!
Appreciate it, Robert and thanks for watching!
Happy birthday Oreo! Congratulations on your Retirement ! I’m happy I found your channel !
Thanks so much Kelly! Glad you found us! Oreo says hi 👋😁
I enjoyed the video. As usual well done. My wife and I have never visited any of the Corp of Engineers camps but you have definitely made us want to. I will offer a suggestion for a place you might like to visit, Look Rock campground. It is in the Smoky Mountains. It is a national park campground on the Foothills Parkway near Maryville Tn.
Thanks for the suggestion- I have been to the GSNP, but not in my camper. The heat lately has just been too much for boondocking. You should definitely try the COE campgrounds, they are among some of the best-run and cleanest I have stayed in. At least that is true in Alabama... Thanks for your comment and watching!
Always enjoy your videos. Thank you
Thank you for watching, Sheila!
Thank you for posting. I enjoyed it very much. My name is also Steve. I also bought an Oliver( hull #. 1043) like yours. I am a widower and travel alone. Made a trip out West from Ga. (13,000 miles) in 2022. Then again in 2023 out West. Another 12,000 miles. I love my Oliver. I pull it with 2022 Ram 2500 HD diesel. I get 15 mpg average. Out West sometimes better pulling the trailer. I am retired now. Lost my wife in 2021. Married 55 years. This would be a lot better with her to enjoy it with. Thanks for posting. I
Sounds like we have a lot in common, Steve! Sorry to hear of your loss of your wife. My wife died in 2019 at the age of 59-- too young! You just have to take care of your body and mind and move into the next chapter of your life. I definitely have a trip out west in mind. I have a few things I have to wrap up here in Alabama to take long trips, but I expect to do something longer in the fall. Thanks for commenting and watching!
That music while flying over the dam was kick butt, just like retirement.
Hehe, thanks Rodney! 🎸
A great walk through. Again very detailed. Thank you!
Glad you liked it and thanks for your comment and watching!
Looks like a very peaceful camp ground. I will definitely plan a trip to Alabama next year. What’s the best month to visit? Thank you for sharing!
Depending if we have mild winters, I really like the fall / winter months. June through September are usually blazing hot. Alabama has some great spots to visit! Thanks for watching!
I have gotten error codes on my water-heater due to air in the gas lines. If I start the stove for a minute then the water-heater starts. Same thing with the fridge. Love your videos!
That may have been the problem, that's a good tip! My fridge is AC or DC only, so no problem there... Thanks for the idea and thanks for watching!
Where is that park? I see lots of parks named Prairie Creek in the USA. Thanks for sharing your fun. Oh, okay, I asked too soon. It's the one in Alabama.😁
I realized after I uploaded the video that I didn't put in the voiceover for the map. I did add a link to the campground in the video description. Thanks for watching!
@@StevesRoadTripChronicles It was fine. You mentioned Alabama.🙂
A great video. Probably the most thorough I have seen. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful and thank you for commenting and watching!
I remember walking through a campground one afternoon and heard the sound of rushing water. Turned the bend to see water gushing out of a campers lower storage doors. The owners were gone but we did turn off the main supply to the camper.
Sounds like a nightmare! I think it's a good idea to turn off the water whenever you leave the camper or home. Thanks for watching!
Ha! The "campground" at the Oliver factory is free, and drab, but it's also a great way to take a shakedown cruise and make sure all components are working okay.🙂
Yes! It is a great service they offer, at least for now. Even though they have moved to selling only through dealers, you can still take delivery from the factory in Hohenwald. Thanks for watching!
Great idea for the Waste Bags in Toilet to keep tank clean! Thanks!
It's a good way to keep your tanks clean in case you don't have a dump site and nature calls 😂 Thanks for watching!
Very nice job! I really do appreciate this as I'm looking at purchasing an Oliver.
Glad it was helpful and hope you find the right camper for you... Thanks for watching!
Does the suction cup tray ever pop off and fall? Any of the auction cup hooks you use ever fall off?
Nope, those suction cups are rock solid. They have a screw mechanism that creates the vacuum. Been there since I bought them. Thanks for watching!
You're brave for taking 65 through the 'Ham. Every time I go over the expansion joints starting in Vestavia the pantry doors flies open and a catastrophe occurs.
😂 You're right, it's bad, but I'm more worried about the other drivers than I am the condition of the road! Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the video…this is my hometown. Lake Guntersville is so beautiful and friendly.
It really is! Whenever I travel, I think about what it would be like living in different places, and Guntersville seems to be really nice. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Sorry I walked in on your video, I had no idea you were making a CZcams video…….i never intended to interrupt
Hey Robert, you didn’t interrupt anything, don’t worry about it! Now you’re a CZcams star 😂
Alabama seems quite beautiful. Perhaps I'll venture out from California and head your way someday.
The tourism motto is (or was) “the state of surprises”. 😄 You should visit! Thanks for watching!
Found you through LIZ AMAZING, thought I'd give you a subscribe, like and comment. ❤
Appreciate that! Thanks for subscribing and watching! 🤎
yep its the best quality out there right now at that size range... the size it is is for national park size limits.... I really dont care what you say, again at this size(and its this size for a reason) its far and away the best out there... you wasted 50 minutes statingfacts everyone already knows !!!!!
Everybody has to decide what they want, for sure, and the Oliver fits me fine. Thanks for watching!
I just started looking at RVs. I love the detail about this Oliver. I'm curious to know how it holds up after 5yrs. I just got my sixties and want an RV that will last while I enjoy retirement. 🤓
I learn so much looking at other people’s Oliver. They have great ideas. Were those cicadas or the tinnitus sound in my ears? 😂
I agree, that was a lot of fun checking out those other trailers. Those cicadas were crazy! We don't have them down here in Birmingham- that was the first time I'd heard them.
Locusts haven't reached us in Illinois yet, but heard they'll be coming .
This was the first time I have heard them- not what I expected, very loud!
Wow, that was some cavern!! Good editing. Enjoyed see the campers. Nice hike.
Thanks Karen! The cavern was something special, for sure. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Thanks for sharing the event.
Appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
