- Hi friends! In today's vlog I'm sharing a new app for how I manage my inventory for my small business. It can be difficult to find a system for managing both finished goods and raw materials when you own a handmade business. I've personally struggled with ordering materials in a timely manner so that I never run out of anything and this system takes all the guess work out.

Do you mind sharing how you log necessary business purchases like: consumables (gloves, RA, sanitizing products, etc) and non-consumables (soap molds, if you buy a new stand mixer, if you purchase new curing racks (baker trays), new stick blender, etc)? I wonder if I need another system, like excel sheets or separate program. If you use excel or something else, can you share how you log those things for tax purposes at the end of the year? Thanks!

Thank you so much for watching! My boxes are custom printed and it's the only thing I don't feel comfortable sharing at this time, maybe one day. I do use a combination of essential oils and fragrance oils but I am very particular on my suppliers and make sure that the fragrances are "clean" and contain no phthalates or parabens.

Hi Caitlin! Love watching your videos. I have a question. When it comes to inventory do you check it daily or are you automatically notified on what you are running low? I sell skirts for my business and trying to figure out a good inventory system/process to use...
Hi + thank you so much for watching! I check inventory weekly, usually on Mondays so that I can order things if needed. Are you making the skirts? If so the Inventora system is great, but if you're buying wholesale I don't think you need that.

I was wondering if you had any advice on how to keep track of the lot numbers that go into products, in case a supplier issues a recall you need to know affected products - I use inventoa and lots & batch tracking are not available.
I love your videos! Do you have any tips on sanitizing jars before adding in your products? I wash mine with warm soapy water after I receive them and then spray and wipe with rubbing alcohol and lint free cloth just before adding the product and I still manage to get tiny dust specks inside the jar/ in my products and I have to scrap them. Im not sure how to avoid this.
Hi Corey! I don't know that you need to wash your jars with soap and water first. You may actually be getting more bacteria from the water into the jar even using soap. I find the best method for me is rubbing alcohol and paper towels. It's not the most eco friendly so I'm looking for alternatives but for now that's my process. Hope that helps!!💕

Does Inventora keep track of the inventory you have for consignment at other stores?

It didn’t melt or anything, it just had too much air so the containers were underweight which isn’t good.

are you able to use a barcode scanner to scan the inventory in and out?
Hmmm… honestly not sure but I can investigate and I know the company is always looking to make updates for its users so I can suggest it to them.
