It’s not just you. I did a few events in spring and none were great. I think people just don’t have enough money right now

Its not you, major corporations that have been in business for decades are shutting down, its the economy. I am use to buying what I want but lately I have been having to watch what I spend. Things have gone up in price so much its wrong. I love your products especially your bars of soaps. Looking forward to more scents coming back to the bar soaps. ❤

Hi Caitlin! You said that Shopify stores will pull images and descriptions. Does that mean customers on Faire can use the Faire seller’s images in their own Shopify shops? Or does that violate image copyright? I hope that question makes sense. I’m totally new to this

Hi Caitlin! It's Vanessa again! Loooove this video, I've never really understood or seen how soap bars are made and this video showed me the process! So cool!!! I love the color variations you mix together to form a beautiful aesthetic bar soap, lot's of work but it pays off! Question to help all of the newbies out there! When starting a small business do you recommend reaching out to prospective stockists/retailers first or order the inventory and then reach out to them to have the physical product? I ask this because I'm scared of ordering a huge inventory order for it to be sitting in my garage and not have the retailers even be aware of my product. Of course, I will be pitching right away but is it still enough to guarantee selling 10,000 + units (which is MOQ for some suppliers) within 6-12 months? How did you go about it? :)

Your videos are always so wonderful. I just clicked on the link to go to the Flipsnack website. Their landing page does not accept Gmail addresses? What I mean by that is you need to fill out your information before even being able to proceed to the interior of the website. I don’t have any other emails other than Gmail. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things, I tried again before sending this message. Seems like they will lose a lot of customers that way.

You are not alone, my friend. I’m putting a halt on events for now because I was tired of being so discouraged all the time. And I heard it from fellow vendors at the events. And friends who are vendors. I’m in tons of vendor Facebook groups, and it’s all that’s being talked about. I work in a retail store full of small businesses and sales are down there too. You are noooot doing anything wrong!!! It’s just tough everywhere right now unfortunately :( thank you for sharing your life and your experiences with us, it’s always encouraging to see you smiling through it all!!! 🫶🏻

this looks wonderfuf - can you share where you got the colapsable displays - and I am in retail ( store) there is a retail recession on now - it is much slower so it is not you or your product it is the economy - hang in there it will change but probably not until next year sadly

I can relate. Since covid markets have not been 100% the same for small businesses. I'm in CT and just did an event last weekend in RI that we all thought would be amazing, but it was a very small crowd. I'm looking to ONLY do a few bigger festivals for the rest of the year because the effort put in with creating, driving and setting up isn't always worth it. You are a trooper for being able to set up your canopy tent by yourself! I bought one just like it(on your recommendation!), and tried to put it up myself the first time during a test run. Couldn't do it, had to call my husband outside to come help me! 😅

summer is definitely tough as school is out, people staying out in longer sunlight hours and good weather, holidaying. Maybe it is expected so it is time to experiment with new products, limited editions, other products that accompany your existing products. Save money for quiet times. When I worked in retail the only busy season was Christmas. What we made in sales that Christmas would dictate the budget and how many staff they can employ during the quite remainder of the year. Very odd but it is how retail is.

Omg you need to invest in a multibar cutter. That will save you so much time.

I spent an entire year doing any market I could get into and it was exhausting but I learned which ones worked for my business and which ones didn't so now I have a rotation of markets that typically do well for my business. It's always good to give something a try! Some of my best markets were ones I didn't have the best hopes for. :)

thank you for doing this series . This has been very informative. I didn’t feel I was at a point to where I could do wholesale, but after talking to another mentor and listening to your whole series, that is definitely something I want to look into sooner rather than later. I do have a question though when you’re wholesaling because like you said you sell your price products at a certain price point m my concern would be if the retailer would sell it lower than what I sell online. Do you have it somewhere in your contract saying that it can’t go below a certain price point.

Please don't scare munger people and say that Ticktock will hurt businesses if this and that isn't done due to what the platform is saying. Social media isn't actually needed. I saw my stepdad create his construction companies and not a single social media was present back in the day not to the present day. its complete tosh. Its not a must. I just use Ticktock when I need it. There's no rush and I love experimenting with Ticktock yes I am curious and I have the book to teach but I take it one step at time and find your own feet. You'll always get to where you need to be. 😊
