China Sichuan Ganzi-tibetan town in the mountains

Garzê or Gānzī is a tibetan town at 3400m in western Sichuan of China. It has a population of 17.000 people. We see Yalong River with suspension bridge, a tibetan monastary and a look in the town with the surrounding snow capped mountains.

Foreigners are allowed? Was it easy to find a place to stay?

I was there 10 years ago, i do not know about the situation now. There were not much acommodation options at the time, 1 hotel was full but by asking around I found a cheap,simple room.
